This is crazy. You cooking reminds me of my dad sooo much. Cast iron pans, taking his time and even the cayenne pepper on top of eggs . Man I miss him. But thank you. I really like your videos.

Watching this, onion looks very "allium" which is reasonable since it is in the same family as the flower. Death camus has a totally different flower. I will be looking for the flowering plant for sure, because I'm bad about just tasting plants. I should probably be more careful!

Thank you. At 46 I am still learning. I have the opportunity to forge on 5 acres of property. Hoping to acquire it in time.
I am carefully learning about wild onion. No I won't be just eating it without researching everything.
Many videos and books PLUS an expert in wild everything.

Death camas have none hollowed leaf to what I understand. Field Garlic has a hollow leaf and smells like onion when cut.
Aint going after the flat leaf onions to risky.

I think I may have eaten death camus I picked in my flower bed in my seafood linguine tonight. About a half hour after consuming I started violently vomiting. I feel better after throwing up, so hope no harm was done. Will know better next time-- if there is a next time!

It could also just be severe food poisoning, but you'd better get to a doctor!!

Guessing i have a cultivated allium type that sporadically self seeds and grows. The seed head is multi little flowers in a rounded head. No bulb at base , yet the green tastes a bit like onion. Guessing if i stay alive or don't suffer by throwing up soon, it's safe ?

The rule of thumb is "If in doubt, throw it out." I wouldn't eat it.

some years ago when my eldest son was having some terrible asthmatic attacks someone suggested we give him wild onions - the recipe was to boils down one or two cherry sized roots from a regular drinking size cup to have of its volume we did this about two times this caused him to vomit a lot of mucus but since doing that he never encountered that type of attacked - is this consistent with the characteristics of the plant. or could it have been the other type of onion plants you mentioned?

I found some blue bells, purple flowers and got mixed info if they're edible. They have onions as bulbs, smell like onion, but it says online it's poisonous. Other sites say it's delicious. Please help.

Here's the thing , im presently have developed some symptoms after eating a couple of fists full of just the leaves. i cut up like chives. Well i did it because i never until i looked up if the "wild onions" i ate about about 2 hours ago could make me sick. Stupid right ? I got sick (vomited) all of my stomachs contents took the trash out and the awful DR started . I ate an apple 🍏 and some peanut butter camalmill tea . My husband is here but if this is as deadly as i have been reading then im going to let it happen and be free . I have no interest in suffering anymore in this life . But the initial on set of this whole silly accident made me realize im done suffering and not being loved . Im welcoming the possibilitie of me fading away by morning i suppose by morning 🌄. I hope of you love and care for one another and above all seek PEACE 🕊️.
