Recently, BigBus sg ordered 10 open top electroliner streetdecks to replace the current aging 18.240. I wonder if it will look like this or the older one
How many miles in a charge. How many years until the batteries need replacing. How much more rubber and tarmac particulates are produced due to its weight. Im sure stagecoach has done due diligence, but whole life cycle costs probably wont be published. How easy or difficult will it be to cascade these buses to other subsidiaries in the future. Government putting the fare cap up next year, then id guess abolishing it again at the end of 2025, rural routes in the rest of the country under great pressure again id guess. Thanks for the upload, Manchester bus museum has a fantastic collection,as indeed does the selnec society .
They have one of these with leatherette seats on the 18 route to the MRI and they are really comfy, very smooth ride and comfy seats - I almost fell asleep and missed my stop on the way home from the MRI on one of these new buses ❤❤❤❤
Speaking as a driver… having double door buses on the streets of Manchester will be an absolute nightmare unless every bus has a second member of staff on board
Not a fan of the vision zero electroliner's design but the acceleration of electroliners tends to be pretty fast Is this bus part of goahead's recent mega order?
@ the last I could recall was transport uk's (formelly abellio) 3103 in particular which was their newest delivered electroliner then and its acceleration was really quick
Opportunity missed for more seating on the lower deck, rather poor layout in my opinion. Do think it looks rather nice considering its Bee Network interior specification
The seats could have been removed to accommodate the battery? I'm not sure. Camera mirrors seem to be the way forward with manufacturers, and at the moment these buses are required to have a conventional set of mirrors on board should the cameras fail
camera mirrors are way more convenient as they don't get moved from objects on the side of the road and are easier to see on rainy days as the condensation on windows won't block them from being seen
@@YorksLancsTransportHub, I don't know if bus cameras are different from the ones on trucks, but most truck drivers who have them hate them. Complaints include a spot of dirt blocking most of the view, LEDs flickering on the screen being distracting, and if there is a bright light behind when reversing, it's hard to see.🤠
@@glitchFan2428the seats were removed for safety. If you sat in the middle seat and the bus had to brake for an emergency, the person would go flying forward
theyve given it the blandest interior possible, suppose for mass bus orders it was going to happen, i still hate the new TFL ordered face lift, it looks awful
Lipstick 💄 on a old pig. Dashboard and steering wheel is pretty much straight out of the ancient Streetlite and the driver's cab looks so uncomfortable. May the good Lord help those drivers who have to spend up to 10 hours driving this montrosity 🙏
The steering wheel design is actually much older than the streetlite I believe, I think it dates back to some Mercedes buses from the late 90s but I could be wrong.
@@glitchFan2428 Its actually a VDL designed wheel dispute being a fully integral Wright vehicle, Borismasters also have the same wheel as VDL based Wrights.
Facelift Electroliners in that livery does make it look like a bumblebee now, but i would still prefer the London spec version of this bus
@@thebusenthusiastperson237 I do like the facelift compared to the old design
Wow, that looks great!
Nice Electric Bus

@@GuestHypR yeah I was quite shocked when I saw the order, I presume it'll be this new face
@@glitchFan2428 wait what didn't know wrightbus offers a 3 axle electroliner, but I heard wrightbus has plans to revive its malaysian factory by 2025
I heard that Metroline are getting these as well.

@@michaeljohndennis2231 this particular model of bus has not entered service yet, but there's a lot of very similar looking buses out there
Drive one of these on full day's bus duty and you will feel like you've been run over by a bus when you step out of the cab !! 😂😂😂
why does buses in manchester only have a single door... surely when needing to evacuate in the event of a crash it might hinder the process
buses outside of london has never liked 2 doors, they tried 2 doors in the 70s or 80s in Manc and it never stuck
Yeah it's quite weird whenever I'm in London, I instinctively try to get off at the front 💀
Regional buses (usually only having a single door) have an off side (driver side) emergency exit.

Crash? surly not.
Does anyone know who makes the chassis and drivetrain for these?
Wright make the chassis, unsure about drivetrain

Is this bus part of goahead's recent mega order?
Yes I was blown away by how quickly the 23 plate ones got up to speed in London. And yes this bus is under Go North West
@ the last I could recall was transport uk's (formelly abellio) 3103 in particular which was their newest delivered electroliner then and its acceleration was really quick
Which company are these going to used under?
This particular unit is for Go North West
this was bodied by wrightbus? interior looks pretty… plain. the seats help to add a little bit of contrast
i mean most wrightbus products look identical on the inside?
Yes Wrightbus, the interior spec is Manchester Bee Network colours
Not much comparison to other street deck as the only changes are mirrors are digital and less seats
The bodywork is slightly different too. I prefer it to the older style 😄

That's a GB kite Btw but yeah, it is a electroloner

No GB Kites are the single deckers, the double deckers are Streetdeck Electroliners

Electroliner
Prefer the Enviro400EVs instead
Hopefully I'll be able to film those soon!
