Greatest dog vehicle ever made. One could argue the greatest vehicle ever made. Shocking that Honda has not brought it back. Given the popularity of the Ford Maverick truck it is clear the demand for useful small functional vehicles. The target audience for these vehicles is huge and getting larger due to the economic climate.
I’m also surprised Honda hasn’t brought it back since the whole Van Life craze has taken off. I guess, though, that was a product of the pandemic… and the pandemic caused problems for car production. I believe the Element’s target audience - at the time - was college-age kids / young adults. I could be mistaken.
Had a 5spd 06 and 08 A/T. They have a huge fr door, meaning sometimes impossible to get in and out of next to other cars. Very loud on the hwy.. the skylite in the back was pretty useless, maybe good for adding a pop top. On demand AWD is great but it's light duty.. unibody means no frame so the car twists. Not much road clearance so you have to keep that in mind when you forget it's not a Wrangler.. Overall, a good vehicle. We bought an astro and camperized it. Has more room, is surprisingly not much bigger, carries more, including a sm MC on the back and is far more robust. 👍
I loved this video! If you watch Bob Wells and his interviews, you realize that there are people of all ages living the nomad life. This is not a “trend” for many people, but a sustainable way of life for many.
Great video. Sweet build. Just FYI, WeatherTech sells window covers for every window that don't require suction cups. They also have silver on one side and black on the other. And older people where doing vanlife way before it was a trend and before it was called vanlife.
Nick, thank you so much for ALL of your help and expertise. Without you this would not have happened. 9th rode beautifully across the country to my first Winter location. Question...did we lift the rear 1.5 inch or 2 inches? Cheers!

I love this! I’m a huge Honda Element fan and I’m thinking of buy one for camping. I’ve owned one before for hauling my band equipment and they’re awesome!
Thank you for filming having a tour filmed and previewing it Live. You are such an inspiration. I am older and retired in my mid 50s. I too freaked and worried a lot of people by taking off for the summer to try thru hiking. I lived out of a backpack and had a wonderful adventure. I still leave our comfortable home and backpack for upto 6 weeks at a time, but I learned I don't want to be away from my loved ones much longer than 6 weeks. When I solo vehicle travel it is in an old Jeep Patriot with a very simple easily removable build plus The Chuckbox Camp Kitchen. Having the bed close to the ceiling makes it cozy and in really cold temperatures it is easier to retain heat without a heat source. I love that no one gives the Patriot a second look and it is capable enough to get me to trail heads. I feel you have become healthier and move really well, because of the work you put into getting your house sold and living out of 9th Eliminate. I can totally understand how you can live and adventure out of 9th fulltime. Thank you for taking us along on your journey.
Anita, this is a beautiful note and "testimony" that life is never really over. What lives in our minds can survive outside of our bodies. Thank you Mindy for always being such an inspiration. Congratulations on selling your home and moving in your E full time. Can't wait to keep following your adventures 🙌
This was an awesome camper van tour!! You did a great job showing it off and explaining everything Mindy, and per usual Isaacs videography was excellent too!!! The element looks so livable & comfy!! Can’t wait to see where you are in the next video.. keep on keepin on friend!!! So so happy for you and the choice you made to be on the road!!! Lots of Love and hugs to you!!!
Hello Mindy, I just learned more about you and your journey. This is all so interesting. I still can't see how you fit into the bed. I'll have to find another video that shows this process. 🐸
Well...I have been travelling and living out of my Honda Element for 9 months now, so I must sleep in it, right? I fit very comfortably in my bed, and get the BEST sleeps. Thanks for watching, Cheers!

You have inspired me. " The road heals" Very Nice Build! I'm saving until I can afford a nice Honda Element and I'm going Nomad full time! Did Minivan life and it was cool. Upgrade Time!
Sure is. I have been living full time out of it for 8 months now...and I LOVE it! Thanks for stopping in today. may you find your adventure here! Cheers!
I just watched your Tiny Home tour of your Element. . I I love the Honda Element and especially what you have done to yours Mindy. I came here hoping to find a Link to your left rear exterior storage rack. It sounded like you called it a "Rod Diesy" stoarage rack, and I googled it, but cant find anything on it. BTW, Tiny Home tours toured my tiny home in the Village farm tiny home community this year.
Hi Brian, the side panel is by Rob Deezy. Here is the link to acquire one:elementdriven.com/products/rearsidewindowpanel-by-robdeezy. I would love to see your tour, can you put the title in here for us? I LOVE Tiny Living, may we meet down the road. Cheers!
Thank you Sandy Mac. Isaac can take all of the credit for filming the content. He really knows what to capture. I edited the reels. This was one of my favorite films to make, so much LOVE has gone into 9th, and now we are living our "Best Classic Lives" on the road. Cheers!
Great little setup, thanks for the complete tour. I really like the idea of a solar panel, the 2" lift, and the swivel seat, those are something for thought (especially the lift). I'm hoping your progress reports will convince me to make those modifications. Enjoy your vagabonding!
Hi Mather, I agree on all of those things. One thing to consider is that I did loose 7 miles per gallon on the current set up. Without the camper in it, I would guess that I lost 3 -4 miles per gallon. I will keep you updated, and feel free to ask questions anytime. Cheers!
Excellent build, thanks for sharing. I have a 2006 AWD 5-speed Honda Element LX which I absolutely love. Hope to someday set it up to live out of. Very inspiring video.
Thanks Element Family. It has been a lot of planning, but it paid off. My cross country road trip has been EPIC out of it....so far. See you in Tacoma in July, Cheers!
You’re an inspiration, Mindy! I currently have a semi-built camper in an ‘04 Chevrolet Tracker 4-door 4x4 and just stopped driving my ‘08 Element EX AWD as my daily commute vehicle. I desperately want to convert my Element into a camper with the eCamper pop-up, but am having trouble convincing my wife that we should have 5 vehicles in the driveway. Hopefully me sharing this video with her will be an ice breaker. Happy camping to you!
Brandon, KEEP the Element. They are now "Classics" starting this year. Mine is 20 years old, OG engine, 210,000 miles, lifted and running strong. Easy to Stealth Camp in too. Cheers!
I so want to, but I think my wife is being more practical, and wise, with her thought that I don’t need two camping vehicles. Ugh! I need a bigger driveway and a 4 car garage. Perhaps some of your followers will want to buy it, or maybe I’ll start my own channel to show it off. It really is a beauty!
Hello Mindy. I hope this message finds you well. I’m sorry that I lost track of our conversation. Do you still know a friend that is looking for an Element? Mine is ready to be sold. I will be sad to see it go, but happy if someone gets it and uses it as a camping machine. I can send you the details and pictures to your email if that’s okay. I’m in Southern California near the borders of San Bernardino and Los Angeles County, and only 10 minutes from Ontario International Airport if someone needed to fly out to pick it up. I would of course pick them up from the airport.
OOPSY... time to find a nice patch for that seat (arm rest socket); I bought some curved needles to sew my wive's inner purse lining. GOSH... I know it's sinful but I envy your Element! Your so inspiring for all of us seeking some kind of freedom; proof if you can do it, everyone wanting can do it too. Thank you.
Hi Colt, I had that very same idea for the patch, except I was going to hot glue it on. lol! I think it is thoughtful to wish for a Honda Element like mine, it only means that I did a nice job and others appreciate it. I am going to look into curved needles for my patch install. Cheers!
@@NinthElement I am fixing to go back on theI road in a few weeks in my Transit after more than 2 years at home. When you said "the road heals" that rang so true as I can't wait till I get going...
You could gain a *ton* of room if you dropped the bed down and used shallower stuff underneath, or at least used a thinner mattress. An element with no passenger seats is a ton of room and its being really suboptimally utilized rn and it results in a kind of claustrophobic vibe. Its a nice rig and has all the standard improvements but it'd feel kind of crazy to hang out with during something like a rain
Thank you for the inspiration! I have been part time traveling since 2018 and the entire time I have been feeling stuck because I am too scared to sell my house, or rent it out, even though I know it's time for a change. Every time I come back from the road, I become super unhealthy. Each time I come back, I get worse and feel even more stuck than before. I was traveling back from the PNW to Utah last October and saw someone with a setup very similar to yours at a state park in Idaho! Very cool! I have subbed to your channel! I need all the inspiration I can get to change and become unstuck. I am giving myself 6 months to get this house packed up so that I can start living my life.
Heather, as you can see from my videos and my journeys, it was a matter of living or dying for me. A life in a city with a 9 -5, house and massive bills...me and one income...was no life for me. The road heals. You got this, Cheers!
Hi Mindy! Glad I clicked on your video, I like seeing the Honda platforms being used for outdoor life styles. O adventure in a first generation crv. I think we are from the same area. Definitely a fan of hiros work. Subbed and interested in more.
Christine, I won't lie, it was almost as much to buy a used 2003 Honda Element all over again. But, so worth it, and a Dream Come true. This is my Happy Place. Cheers!
@@NinthElement mine is a 2004 and when I start tricking it out to what my dream is, something else needs attention. Hopefully I will win the lottery soon lol…..happy travels! I am following so I can live vicariously through you.
Get a Yeti Goal Zero 1500x with the vehicle integration kit. You can charge the unit from your alternator in between trips when you drive. It's all setup to not drain your car battery, it's completely plug and play.
Awesome video..I think that the best setup is the bed being at floor level and the cabinets built around going up the van walls..also there is no seating for another person and one is a lonely number 😰🥰🥰🥰
Hi Mindy! Hey great tour, fun to meet you in Oregon, love to get the swivel seat that is cool. Did you get to Texas? Hey I was also a chef before being a photographer/writer. Still like cooking too.

Cheers!
Thx.. I also follow this man on his YT & guess what? Here it is, enjoy: ruclips.net/video/ZrDl8-v8vEM/видео.html
The Road Heals -
So True...
Very True. I am the BEST version of myself today. Hugs! Cheers!
@@NinthElement I am fixing to go back on theI road in a few weeks in my Transit after more than 2 years at home. When you said "the road heals" that rang so true as I can't wait till I get going...
Welcome back Terry, ENJOY! Cheers!
Thanks for watching and sharing what works for you, now you know not to do what I did. Cheers!
Looking awesome 😂. Safe travels while you are enjoying the journey 😎❤️
Thank you Gail, will do! Cheers!
What a great platform to build! Wishing a lovely journey to the beautiful owner
that would be me! Cheers!
From seeing it on tv it looks small, but as long as you're satisfied and comfortable that's all that matters 💯💯💯
Hi Mary, it is really small. The TV does not lie, and YES, I do love it. Cheers Dear!
God I love you…”yes, I poop in a bag, it’s glamorous.” 🤗🤗🤗 Big hugs to you Sis!
Don't forget while wearing pearls! Thanks Kim, Cheers!
@@NinthElement hahaha! That’s right! You are a Lady and don’t ever forget it! 😘
Greetings from India 😊.. Im new subscriber.. Nice nice video 👍 All the best.. May God bless you 🙏🏻😊
Wow! India, that is so special. Welcome, Cheers!
Hi Mindy! Glad I clicked on your video, I like seeing the Honda platforms being used for outdoor life styles. O adventure in a first generation crv. I think we are from the same area. Definitely a fan of hiros work. Subbed and interested in more.
Glad to have you here Logan. There will be more adventures coming up this next year with other fabulous Honda Element owners. Cheers!
Great tour. ❤️🙏🏼👍🏼👍🏼✌🏼
Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for being here. Cheers!
Always. Cheers!
Always. Cheers!
So me …..I love your set up and how you tricked your toaster out. I can only do a little at a time.
Hi Tom, thank you for this comment. People love information like this, so I appreciate that you share. Cheers!
Awesome video..I think that the best setup is the bed being at floor level and the cabinets built around going up the van walls..also there is no seating for another person and one is a lonely number 😰🥰🥰🥰
You Do You Boo! I am living my best Solo life out of my Lifted Element! Cheers!
You're incredible!
thank you, Cheers!
Thanks Mindy
My pleasure, Cheers!
😍😍😍 excellent ❤
Glad you like it! Cheers!
Great story, travel well!
Thank you Kelly, I am loving the travels right now out of 9th. Cheers!
Hi Mindy! Hey great tour, fun to meet you in Oregon, love to get the swivel seat that is cool. Did you get to Texas? Hey I was also a chef before being a photographer/writer. Still like cooking too.
Thank you Mary, we do have a lot in common. Yes, I did make it to Texas. Cheers!
Wish we had these in the uk ..Nice 👍
Maybe I should ship one there, and sell it? Cheers!
