Thanks for comment. I don't have any Stingers in stock, but I will be doing a run down of our mid-range price bows ($450-$850) in a week or so. Included in that will be the PSD Drive and Drive X. A little more performance than the Stinger but still highly adjustable and affordable. Until then, keep it Inside Out!
@Inside Out Precision I just wanted to let you know, of all archery and pro shop related uploads I have seen, yours are among the very best on RUclips. I found them very informative, concise, practical and genuine. Thank you for taking the time to create and post great content. I have subscribed and will be sharing your channel with others. I wish you continued success and look forward to future content. Thank you again. Best regards, 695Bluefin
@@695Bluefin Thank you so much! I appreciate you taking the time to watch. Lots more on form and shot executiion in coming weeks, as well as gear reviews as we continue to get new products. Thanks again and good shooting to you!
Early 2021, went to my local store to look at a Hoyt Torrex XT long draw as I pull 31”, I was told that the orders from Hoyt were a couple months out and the store owner showed me a Mathews Traverse they had on their closeout wall. I took about 6 shots with it and I was sold.
After much deliberation and shooting, I chose the Mathews Traverse. I shot the Prime 5, Revolt X, Mathews TRX 36, Hoyt Ultra and Elite Ritual 35. The Traverse just felt better in my hand and seems to fit me best. I'm looking forward to its arrival in a couple of weeks.
I had the pleasure to shoot this bow a couple days ago and absolutely loved it. I am ordering it in 60#. I love how mathews gives you many options on their website. I plan to use it for both hunting and 3d. Great in depth review
The Bow God I can tell you that I recently tested it at Lancaster Archery and I liked the draw. No big drop at the end. The back wall was stiff but not too stiff because I was using the string stops. I also loved the feeling of the riser/bow in my hand. It’s got a nice weight to it. The riser metal feels super stiff and strong. The only thing I did notice was the bow leapt out of my bow hand after the shot. As compared to the Mathews Traverse the Traverse had almost no movement after the shot. I also wish Prime would work on increasing the speed of their bows. Their longer brace heights on shorter bows and their shorter brace heights on longer bows doesn’t make sense to me. If they increased the speed of their bows and worked on more vibration dampening I’d be a Prime owner.
Thanks for the review. First real review for the Traverse. I've got a Vertix on order now I'm gonna have to get a Traverse on order. Great job on the video
Thanks for the comment. I ordered a Traverse two weeks ago, its a tack driver for sure. It was a HARD decision between it and the Vertix though, you will love that bow! We can barely keep them in stock. Shoot me a pic on Insta when you get that baby rolling, I always like seeing other peoples set ups!
I just bought my Traverse this weekend, and I'm loving it. It came down to this or the Helix, and since this was on-sale for $100 less, and was quieter than the Hoyt, I went for it. Both are great bows, but I felt more comfortable shooting the Traverse. Perhaps the longer brace height made it feel more consistent, or maybe that awesome grip, but I was shooting 1" groups with no sights.
Great review brother. Thank you for explaining everything in full detail. I’m actually thinking about getting the traverse, that bow looks and shoots awesome. I shot it a few weeks back and enjoyed it. Felt good to me, considering I’m 6’2 with a 31 inch draw length. Thanks again for the awesome video man!
Question. Since the Traverse can be a hunting bow and 3D bow. Will the bow need to be tuned switching from fat shaft arrows to .204 diameter arrows? Or could I run two different sights and arrow setups, and get along fine?
I don't know what you mean by "increasing string angle" but if you are asking if the string angle is more comfortable with long draw lengths you would be correct. The string angle feels like that of a 34-35" ata bow.
Would love to get my set up on a chrono. I shoot the Easton FMJ Dangerous game 17.2 grains per inch. I hunt with a Mathews Halon 7 at 70lbs and 32.5 inch draw.
So far not only the best review about the Traverse currently available but also one of the most comprehensive reviews of a compund bow I ever saw! Loved the explanations about the top hat system, that's the kind of small details that the layman person starting in archery is unaware and learning about helps a lot.
Thanks for the kind words! I'll be doing a lot more gear reviews in the coming weeks as new products show up that we ordered at the ATA show. If you hit the notification bell on our channel it will notify every time we drop a new video. Until next time, keep it inside out!
I haven't had a chance to run any arrows through the chronograph at 60lbs, but I can tell you that in my experience, you can expect anywhere from a 12fps-18fps difference in speed with a 10lb increase/decrease. Thanks for taking the time to watch the video, I will be reviewing a lot of new products in the coming weeks as items ordered at the ATA show start rolling in! In the meantime, keep it Inside Out!
A very fair and entertaining review. I have seen variation in speed testing. Usually an average or median of multiple shots would be used. Clearly for time sake, one shot per spec was done. Overall I thought the results say the Traverse is a great bow. I myself went with the Vertix and love it. I have the H32 and Triax and they too are great. When I shot the Vertix for the first time I didn't even know it had gone off it was so quiet and vibration free. Would you say the Traverse is light years ahead of the H32 6?
Thanks Donovan!! I don't think it's light years ahead of the 32, but for me it aimed a lot better and was smoother on the shot. The Vertix is a great bow, you'll love it! As for the chrono, I agree it's best to take an average. This particular chrono seems to be very consistent...very rarely do I see more than foot or two variation. Thanks again for watching! Good shooting to you
Thanks for the comment! We aren't a Prime dealer unfortunately, but we do get them sent to us to work on all the time. If one comes through the shop I'll ask the person if its okay to do a review with it. I am fairly familiar with the bow however so if you have any questions let me know and I'll do my best to answer them! Good shooting to you!
Funny you compared those 2. I have a Traverse and I love mine. At 70 pounds the last non switch weight bow Mathews has made. And the draw on it is way smoother than anything ever since. With all that said my local dealer got in one of the NTN versions, I went to try it out and walked out with it. The draw in my opinion is smoother all around on the evolve cams. Easier to draw and hold on target for me. The Traverse still is by far the smoothest drawing Mathews, just a tad bit heavier to pull. The NTN has also less shock, and is quieter than my Traverse. Both 33 inches ata, and all around the same bow pretty much. I will never sell my Traverse or my NTN. Can't go wrong either way.
I already have what i consider to be my "perfect bow". yet every year i STILL get caught up in the hype of "new bow month" LOL. i am like a kid in a candy store wanting to try out everything. the Traverse looks like a nice bow, i have not handled one but i am looking for a dedicated 3D/target bow and this one is high up on the list.
Shot both the vertix and traverse today both awesome and smooth but the draw on the traverse was a little more smooth and not as stiff by a little but a easy pull at 65 pounds but ended up buying the traverse jyst held better on target for me all black today and got it in order because the shop I went to didn't have one because he has been selling the traverse more then the vertix but both awesome bows and can't go wrong with either
I bought the Triax and love it. But I thought in my mind that it should have been 30". Then the 30 incher comes out with upgrades. It gets frustrating.
Yeah it's a never ending cycle of the "next best thing" in archery. I have a long draw length (29.5-30.0) depending on the set up and usually don't get along well with short bows, but the Triax broke the mold. I shot it all last year and was really impressed with how well it aimed and shot. Definitely had to play with my stabilizer set up a little though to get it to aim the way I liked. If any pro shops in your area take trade-in's, you can still good for Triax's and then get into a new model for a only $200-$300.
Most 33"-35" bows make great crossover bows ( target or hunting). I haven't had the chance to play with the Ritual much, but Elites are great shooting bows. They are a little harder to tune than Mathews (from a bow technician stand point), but they shoot great when tuned. Everything on the Traverse just works the way it should. Easy to tune, stays in tune, fast, smooth.... the list goes on haha. Granted, that's a slightly biased opinion, but it's hard not like that bow.
Today I shoot the first time my new traverse. Hook release 320 grain Beaman arrows. 134 arrows and than the string jumps from the cams........ I'm so angry
Awesome review!!! You are very knowledgeable for a guy who guy that pulls back a bow with the wrong hand. 🤚 just kidding. How about the Hoyt Rx3? You make me want to try a Traverse , though.
Haha thanks for the comment! The RX3 is a phenomenal bow. It draws smoother than any of the Mathews and is very comparable in speed. It's has a little more noise on the shot and isn't quite as dead in the hand, but it aims like an absolute rock, which is something to be considered. I'll be posting some reviews on the RX3, RX3 ULTRA, and the respective Helix models in the coming weeks. Thanks for watching! Until next time, keep it Inside Out.
Really digging the channel watched all your videos very informative great job. You guys are probably the best bow shop I’ve ever been to and now you’ve just kicked it up to the next level Thanks again
Bought this model over the weekend and I’m pretty sure you set it up for me. Such a good experience and a fantastic bow. Really got me dialed in. Thanks again.
Both shoot great, but I felt like the Traverse aimed a little better and I really like the new grip. Same cam system, and they both draw really smooth. If you haven't shot one I'd suggest getting your hands on one and give it a run. Like I said in the video, whatever feels best to YOU is what you'll want to shoot. Thanks for the comment!
Hope you found this video helpful. Let me know if there's a bow you'd like me to review 🏹

99% of bow reviews are people just regurgitating manufacturers’ descriptions. Well done, sir, you actually managed to not waste my time!
The draw length range for Traverse is pretty large: 26.5"-32.5" according to the specs.
Do you know how the speed is changing inside the range?
Usually about 10-12 fps/inch
Does the vertix have that grip too
Yeah every bow since ‘19 has the engage grip
@@InsideOutPrecision you think the vertix was pretty quiet

You should show the draw curve for your bow reviews.
How do you like it ? I’m looking at one on Archrey talk
The Traverse is shooting unbelievable for me! Top-hat tuned just a fuzz. Stacking Brass filled Easton Axis like a dream.
This is by far the best video review ever
How would you compare this to the Halon 32?
Pretty similar but holds better in my opinion.
Being a 6’3” archer the traverse was a more comfortable size for me than any bow 30 inches or under, I’m glad I have a traverse on the way
does it have a limb stop or cable stop ?
Cable
But this video is from 4 years ago. It’s no longer in production. If you can find one I highly recommend buying it!
How are the limb on the traverse are they parallel or pass parallel?
After much deliberation and shooting, I chose the Mathews Traverse. I shot the Prime 5, Revolt X, Mathews TRX 36, Hoyt Ultra and Elite Ritual 35. The Traverse just felt better in my hand and seems to fit me best. I'm looking forward to its arrival in a couple of weeks.

Thanks Matt! Mine should be arriving any day now, can't wait to get it rolling! Thanks for watching and good shooting to you.
I don’t understand why they wouldn’t put the same switch mod capabilities on the traverse as well. It’d be nice if they did.
I tried getting a set of switch cams from mathews to put on my traverse but they wouldn't send them to me haha
Inside Out Precision That’s next years release. Haha!
Appreciate the elaborate review of a great bow. I’d like to see you review the Prime CT-5.
Any word on the CT5?
The Bow God I can tell you that I recently tested it at Lancaster Archery and I liked the draw. No big drop at the end. The back wall was stiff but not too stiff because I was using the string stops. I also loved the feeling of the riser/bow in my hand. It’s got a nice weight to it. The riser metal feels super stiff and strong. Man, the Vertix is sweet. Shot one last week. The only bow that's made me doubt my current rig. It's like arrows just appear in the x ring.
After shooting the VXR I decided I still liked the Traverse. Had to order it. I’m just sitting here waiting.
Would love to see same speed test with a sixty pound Traverse, maybe with 75% let off.
The let off won't change the speed any. But basically subtract 16-20fps from all the speeds in this video if you want to know what a 60lb'er would do!
I just bought my Traverse this weekend, and I'm loving it. It came down to this or the Helix, and since this was on-sale for $100 less, and was quieter than the Hoyt, I went for it. I shot it a few weeks back and enjoyed it. Felt good to me, considering I’m 6’2 with a 31 inch draw length. Thanks again for the awesome video man!
Compare to your Halon X, Is the Traverse is better for you for target shotting? (Easy to shoot, accurate, smooth draw)
They feel very similar but the traverse draws smoother. I'm pulling 77lbs on my traverse and its butter
The 28.5" mods are they the H mods?
Yes
Yes
Vertix, just purchased mine two weeks ago. It shoots great, I love the grip on this bow.
greateast bow ever made ( till everybody trades it in 6 months for the new Greatest Mathews)
Pacific Northwest Nomad Give aways soon!!! Matrix is the best target made
Question. Since the Traverse can be a hunting bow and 3D bow. Will the bow need to be tuned switching from fat shaft arrows to .204 diameter arrows? Or could I run two different sights and arrow setups, and get along fine?
Ideally you'd need to tune between fat shafts and smaller shafts.
So I was wondering, do the big cams help with increasing string angle?
I don't know what you mean by "increasing string angle" but if you are asking if the string angle is more comfortable with long draw lengths you would be correct. The string angle feels like that of a 34-35" ata bow.
Good evening. How is the pse evo nxt 33 compare to this bow?? Simular a to a.. how about the vxr 31.5?? Love the bow reviews
Would love to get my set up on a chrono. I shoot the Easton FMJ Dangerous game 17.2 grains per inch.
I hunt with a Mathews Halon 7 at 70lbs and 32.5 inch draw.
My traverse will be in this week excited to see how it shoots with a 30.5” draw length at 70lbs!
It will be movin' bro! I'm at 31.5" on the draw and at 73# I got well over 300 fps with a 420 grain arrow!

Nice bow, but I have HALON6 and I see no reason to change it to Traverse. The principle of operation of the same, only it +3"
What would the bow give with 26 DL

Triax is a Greek word.

Haha, you aren't the first to tell me that! Thanks for watching.

Can u do a review on the vertix
There will be a Vertix review dropping Thursday! make sure to hit the notification bell so you don't miss it. Good shooting to you!
