    Exactly why I and all my friends that love to hunt watch you Dan. There is a lot of BS and cliche same old hunting videos on RUclips. You can actual breakdown and teach Whitetail Deer Hunting. Educational and entertaining videos. Keep up the great work Hunting Beast and the Big Buck Serial Killer.

    I liked that ground blind setup, and it worked for that hunter as you mentioned. Personally I can't use those tree stands. My health doesn't allow for it so I'd always look for places to hunt from the ground.

    • @thehuntingbeast

      I think ground could work there, but that set up would funnel dropping thermals to incoming deer. a little further down hill and to the side would of worked great... We probably should of shown and talked about that guys set up more.

      @@thehuntingbeast yah from the distance it looked like a great spot. I don't know a whole lot about thermals, but I do know that wind is important and some spots the wind can funnel so a west wind in the woods becomes an easy wind. If you could go back to that spot and explain it more in detail that'd be awesome. Keep up the great work!

    I love how you include Rick in the jovial banter is great and I know Rick knows you sincerely care about him. We all do too. This video is very educational and you showing your spots that I’m sure people who know the are are going to use now shows you are neither greedy or selfish and it’s really something so positive and great to see. Coming from Ohio and having dealt with some bad faith people it’s just awesome to see. So thank you for everything that you and Eric are doing.

    I really enjoy the scouting videos, I'm always able to get some useful information from them. This is the first winter in many years that we don't have snow, and I haven't been out scouting like I usually am, I'm sure come fall ill be kicking myself in the arse for my lack of preparation.

  • @Intimidator82

    Maybe that crossbow bolt was stuck in the ground as a marker for the shot location, then in the heat of the excitement, they got to the deer and never came back to grab the bolt. They likely live far enough away that it wasn't worth the gas money to come back for it. That possum if given the chance will treat your finger like a sausage, be careful that's the release finger!!

    I found myself in a 45 degree goofy looking tree like that last year. I scouted my way in with my stand and sticks and determined that was the best spot to be so my stand and sticks stayed on the ground. I could cover multiple trails with fresh buck sign and had a just off wind. No it wasn’t super comfy as my stand but I felt I would give it a try. The whole time I felt like I was crazy and it wasn’t going to work 😂 but I guess if Dan approves it was worth a shot after all. It was one of my first sits of the year as I know that area isn’t super hard to get to and would soon have hunting pressure if not already but definitely history of holding bucks. No bucks or does were seen so I moved on figuring it was most likely already hit.

      @@BowensBlvd no just past years and it’s a smaller swamp that butts up to a smallish Acorn flat with one ridge on the back of the swamp is a river. We tried it on a whim one day and the first 2 sits seen multiple bucks in pre rut so I decided to try it early season. Don’t think I was close enough to the bed or there was already pressure in there

    • @thehuntingbeast
      @thehuntingbeast  Год назад +1

      At a time when the wind is not blowing at the bedding area from either side... For example a bedding point facing east with a west wind can be hunted on exits leading south, North, and east... Pretty simple actually.

    • @thehuntingbeast
      @thehuntingbeast  Год назад +1

      Thats perfectly possible... But his set up would have the thermals going right to the deer where he could of moved his ground set up down hill and over and would of had a both wind and thermals covered. Also looked to me like he put some work into that spot and sat there to much.

      The blind was also in in position that would cause thermals to drop straight to the deer... All points lead me to believe its an amature set up... Thats not saying anything bad about the person, just saying that they probably lack experiance.
