It's super cool (and funny) that I found out about all these episodes exactly 5 years later. Super fun watching them, still super relevant nowadays, to understand from where we come and what was going on back then. Great stuff.
What a fantastic interview, thanks! Daniel really forces us to question what the evolving role of the designer is. I must say I share his vision. Design really is about being curious, questioning everything and finding ways to improve every part of a business or process while navigating complex relationships of course. Thanks guys!
What I think is really good about this interview is that it gives me a clear understanding about when to use or not to use this sprint. This wasn't really clear for me when I read this book.
Fascinating. He will resonate most strongly speaking to design practiced in a multi-million / billion dollar company. But there is an intelligence there for all practitioners and I'm grateful for his insight and perspective.
I can't even begin to describe how inspirational this entire series has been to me. I am starting to see more and more problems that I can apply the process of design to and am really excited to try some of them out. What are some additional resources that I can look into to better understand how to run a design sprint on a small scale?
I have only one question: Daniel, when can we get together again and share a beer? I really enjoyed meeting you at MxF. Always great to hear your ideas and perspective. Some really insightful stuff here. Thanks for sharing.
The answer of "If you are the only designer in the company, how do you convince those business leaders that design matters?" really help me a lot. I would like to ask a follow up question: In many cases, the product owners are not the business leaders but the lead of development, they are more focusing on development other than business, how can we convince them that design matters if we are the only designer in the team?
I believe design shapes the user's thinking process and eventually lead to behavioral change or trigger some behavior as an outcome for receiver at some point. And how we design the product determines how user perceive it and thus this determines whether the user like it or not. User's preference is important for the development of a product or company. And design plays a big role in it because even it might not cause to an immediate effect to the users' first experience but it will eventually develop a habit to the users if they like the design of the product and our design will likely become one of their preferences and might create an impact on how they perceive the other products later on.
This is my favorite youtube channel. Great interviews, great brand. Also, where can i purchase the intro music? Lastly, merchandise better be on the way. :)
Hi guys could you upload the audio to sound cloud as well? With this being so long I'd love to listen to this during my day as a podcast. I actually love video but it'd be great if I have the option. When watching the second time I'd probably come back for the video.
Question: what prototyping tools exist besides Sketch and Keynote for making quick prototypes? Ideally I'm looking for something I can use offline, preferably on Windows10. Cheers! Great episode!
I exported the .key to .pptx fonts won't match, but you can change it for Arial. If you do it, please sent me back so I can add it on the medium post so more focus can benefit from it. ;) I'm @mateus_px on twitter www.dropbox.com/s/wvcwdv28ztudgih/iOS%20UI%20Kit.pptx?dl=0
I really like the channel although I've seen a trend that I don't always like in design talks these days , this cliché about how design is not what you think it is: " design is mostly about communication with the team, "actually design is going to meetings" or also about how design is about understanding people and their psyche and not about designing things at all. I'm not saying those aren't good points, they are huge, but I just think we should start thinking about phrasing this ideas differently, as it's getting old to hear the same thing all the time.

This is awesome, great work guys. Not sure if you're open to any kind of collabs but will drop you a mail :)

Thank you Jeff! Please look into getting the Sprint book by the guys over at Google Ventures (the team that Daniel is on).
Oh, it's on the list. Anything else you recommend or is it pretty sufficient? Thanks for the response!
Really great interview, I've watched it several times already and have learned a ton! Really inspiring
Great job guys!!!!

inspiring!
One thing I learned. Designers who are good at translating design to clients are average designers and vice-versa.
Design logic is fundamentally business logic - therefore designing for the sake of design only is a dead end game
Ya but how much does Daniel get paid?
you know you're wealthy , when you have no clue what dollar tree is LMAOOO
I want his hoody
I was just thinking that!! Wonder where he got it
