Jagger's harmonica always got the blues
One my Stones favorites, the harmonica is so cool! Here in 2024.
rest in peace, Charlie Watts. You were great. We'll never forget about you and your music
Came here to pay respects...Requiescat In Pace, Charlie. Class act all the way around.
at the SARS benefit show in Toronto. This is how Neil Peart described it:
A short, older man stepped up to me, sticking out his hand and saying something I couldn't hear. Thinking "Now who's THIS?" I took out one of my ear monitors and said "Sorry, I couldn't hear you."
He spoke again, smiling, "Hello, I'm Charlie Watts."
"Oh!" I said, taken aback, "Hello." And I shook his hand.
He asked if we were going on soon, and I said yes, any minute, and he said, with a twinkle, "I'm going to watch you!"
I suppose if I could have felt more pressured, that might have done it, but I was already at maximum intensity - there was no time to think of Charlie Watts and the Rolling Stones, watching them on The T.A.M.I Show or Ed Sullivan when I was twelve-and-a-half, hearing Satisfaction snarling down the midway at Lakeside Park, Gimme Shelter at the cinema in London, listening to Charlie's beautiful solo album, Warm and Tender, so many times late at night in Quebec, or any of the other million times Charlie Watts and his band had been part of my life.
Geddy e-mailed me later and mentioned that scene:
"BTW, I will never forget that moment before we went onstage when Charlie Watts came over to shake your hand (at the worst possible moment!) and watching your face go through all the motions of... a. who is this old guy? b. what does he want? c. oh for god's sake it's Charlie Watts!"
@@tnreddogg high hi
Charlie was my favorite 🤩 member of The Rolling Stones. RIP mate
Ринго Старр,Чарли Уоттс,Кит Мун-Великая тройка Ударников!
Jagger was just 52 at this Time!
This is one of their best videos
This is my favorite atones album
People claim the Stones have not done anything great or original since Tattoo You--this song and many others prove differently
The Rolling Stones truly are the Giants of Rock n Roll.
Certified on paper... " greatest rock n roll band " ever
The Kings of RocknRoll!
The Stones will live forever 🙏🏾
Titans
Agreed. And I see what you did there.
Rest in peace, Charlie Watts
Respect from Romania
The official song of my graduate travel
RIP, Charlie, one and only.
Amazing piece of art David Fincher. Bravo!!!!
His videos are better than most movies today. The guy's phenomenal.
The first rule of rolling stones is: you talk about rolling stones 🎶💗👅
A glimpse of you was all it took
A stranger's glance, it got me hooked
And sweet...
Nice...
I love you guys!! "What are you scared of baby? It's more than just a dre-eam....I need some time...." Los Angeles "Ruby" xoxo
I love The Stones but that picture is indecent.
YEssssss, obrigado. girl sex
Best Rolling Stones song post-Bill Wyman. I only recently realized what an absolutely great cut this is - the guitars have that classic raw sound and Charlie is incredible here with his sharp minimalistic playing. Mick's vocal is both intimidating and irresistibly smooth and seductive. His lower singing is so strong and powerful. And of course, that harmonica. "Love is Strong" is a 10/10.
You nailed it.
Amen, it might be their best single since Start Me Up. 💀🔥🎹
I think this whole album is good. Certainly not in the groundbreaking territory of their earlier stuff, but man, is it solid. Just wish they would've kept Jump On Top Of Me on it instead of making it a B side.
I think “Doom and Gloom” and “Out of Control” have a legitimate case. The case for “Out of Control” is more about the live versions, particularly the one from Cuba. “Doom and Gloom” also sounds amazing live, especially in the 2013 Hyde Park gig, but the studio version is where I’d draw your attention to. It has a great riff, lyrics featuring social commentary and an urgency to dance, which are very on brand for Mick, and a nice solo/instrumental break featuring Ronnie on lead and Chuck on the keys.
Couldn't have expressed it better. Perfect description!
Denis Leary was right there should be a bar that plays nothing but stones
What are you scared of, baby
It's more than just a dream
I need some time
We make a beautiful team
Ooh, the only comment...I´m shy, but I really love you...takes me high!
QIE guapo. COMPI.
My Band since I was 8 and that's not bad
Happy to hear this great song again :)
Yo los puse de moda Em Aznalcollar.
I was the Visual Effects Supervisor and one of the compositors on that Video. Won an MTV award and Grammy for that one....
Fincher was such a class act. We worked 21 very long days in a row, and when we were done, Fincher sent EVERY person on my team a full Rolling Stones Catalog and generous gift card. He sent me a very special gift that I cherish to this day.
The real gift though was doing something fresh and new.
One of the great experiences of my professional life. I'll never forget it.
Thank you! :) Amazing.
Lucky you, and fantastic work !
fredfx can I have one ❤️freaking awesome
fredfx This is freaking amazing!
Cool Video!
i was 13 years old when this song came out and it sounded so cool. notably because of the drums and how simple it was. thank you charlie. we will miss you.
Same, I was 14 though
My cool wine aunt turned me onto the Stones when I was visiting her in NYC, kind of fitting
I was 15..in Poland we love 70..and Stones
He was the last rock drummer to use traditional grip instead of matched grip when he was playing. Old school drummer to the core. RIP Charlie
Y sigue a fulllll
I had look up how old I was don't ever make me do that again....I just remember budweiser commercial..that makes you 42 yrs old 🗝️
Rest in peace Mr. Charlie Watts.
Killer armonica loop
First Stones song I ever heard. I was 7 years old. That opening drum roll got me hooked straight away for life. RIP Charlie Watts.
7 years old???? So Serious??? 😱😱😱😱
That’s amazing. 💀🔥
It got me hooked. What's in a name!
best of the best
There are not enough superlatives to accurately describe this band
"What a kind and wonderful man he was... So down-to-earth for being the drummer of the greatest rock n' roll band in the world... I love you Charlie... and thank you for giving me such a beautiful and priceless memory of working with you... Beyond heartbreaking to see you go". - Gail Ann Dorsey
nice pfp
Lost Sirens is such a cool little underrated compilation
Forever Stones 🎸🎶🫧💉💦🛸
sums up my life daily x
Love is strong and you're so sweet
You make me hard you make me weak
Love is strong and you're so sweet
And some day, babe we got to meet
very nice lyrics and sentiments :)
Can´t hold me back no longer!
The Stones look super hot in this video!
A well told lie overshadows fact that is correct. Watch out if you're placing a bet. I'll make it advice, not a threat. Acting isn't what it seems. Behind a silver screen unrelated to what is seen, people are capable of some rotten scenes.
What are you scared of baby? It's more than just a dre-eam.. I need some time.... Like it when you make videos in black and white...
I never understood why this wasn't a big hit, this was their best single in years. Love Charlies moment.
How was this not a big hit? Was constantly played on the radio and on MTV
@Grand Rapids Well, they’ve had a long-ass career. But you gotta remember that this is a 90s song from artists that started in the 60s. I don’t think nobody from that era has done as good as them at getting people to care about their newer songs.
It also doesn’t help that they don’t crack the whip as hard as whoever runs The Beatles’ stuff. If you want to hear a Beatles song it often has to be on their channel. Search this very same song here and you’ll find multiple uploads from fans.
And lastly, songs get a jolt from being used in other types of media. But unfortunately, I think Scorsese would rather use “Gimme Shelter” for the umpteenth time than this song 😂
It was over played in the early 90s and was the single for their Voo Doo Lounge tour. Not their best work.
@@thesturminator2991 it the US it barely hit the 90's
It wasn't a big hit simply because peole have bad taste in music. If you don't believe me, listen to the crap they try to pass as music these days. By the way, i loved this song when it came out and I saw them on the Voodoo Lounge tour. The Best concert i've ever been!! I also liked the song "I go wild"
Voodoo Lounge was my first Stones concert. I was 15 yrs old almost 16. Now I’ve seen them 16 times and counting!!❤️❤️
Rolling Stones is the best
Brilliant.. one of my favourite TRS songs 👍
One of the most original and unique videos ever made. Classic Stones.
Thank David Fincher for that
RIP Charlie Watts. What a great drummer!
Rip Charlie Watts.
Sure, he wasn't flashy, but he suited the Stones style of music.
Charlie was one of the best
The best! 💀🔥🥁
@@skeletonshorror5184 Charlie was not flashing his professional and really nice guy I am a drummer, I think he was the oldest of the fan quietest pool of God right?
RIP Charlie Watts legend.
RIP Charlie & we thank you
“A TEAM!”
Charlie was and will be forever a drums god. #RIPCHARLIE
I don't think I have ever heard a better harmonica player than Mick Jagger. Rolling with the Stones.♥️😍🥰😎😊👍🎸
what? are you serious? you haven't heard many then
Seriously?! You haven't heard Little Walter, William Clarke, Charlie Musselwhite, Sonny Boy Williamson (both of them), Junior Wells, James Harman, Johnny Mars, Kim Wilson, Sugar Blue, Billy Branch, Rick Estrin, Sugar Ray Norcia, Curtis Salgado, Walter Horton, Howlin' Wolf, Rod Piazza, Charlie McCoy, Howard Levy.... I haven't got time to list any more. Pretty much the entire Blues Harp community make Mick look shameful. I still like what he does on this track, but he's a rudimentary player at best.
Ok I don’t argue with you. That’s just me.
@@nelsonhibbert5267 Ya, everyone you named is excellent no doubt, but Mick is still a great harmonica player.
@@BCBlue Unfortunately he isn't.
Say what you want to about, Mick Jagger. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it's hard to deny that he's the greatest rock frontman of all time, and when you hear his vocal, you know instantly who it is. You can't mistake Mick Jagger for anyone else.
Even at 80! 👍🤩
🔥🔥🔥🔥🎸🎸🎸🎸💯
GREAAAAAAAT!!!!!!!
Thanks Charlie for laying down those grooves! RIP.
Who’s loving this in 2020? So badass.
This came out when I was a teenager, and I wasn't allowed to put MTV loud when this was playing. Now I'm adult, and have a kick ass music gear. Now I take it all back and listen to this so loud my whole house is shaking. Mmm...
I'll be loving it more if they play it in Tampa or Atlanta 2020, because my ass will be there. Rock n Roll
No one
Ok
@@jhassett2 No one , no!!! Just you... How do you think you are, the world ? Poor you!!!.. You smell like a finger in a ass...!!! Ego ego ego...!!! little!!!!
Love this Harmonica .
Me too. This song haves a great blues influence. The part of harmonica is a proof of this
Mick is one of the best harmonica players ever. Sensational
Along with Jack Bruce & Tull's Ian Anderson ,or Robert Plant , Mick's harp playing has always given " Delta"cred to their covers and originals.
This Song rocks
Easily one of the best and most creative Stones videos!
I was 17 years old in 1994 and this video takes me right back. We were all nobodies yet everyone was a someone. Young enough that we thought we knew it all. Happy days.
14 in '94 here. Big difference back then, but now in our friggin' 40s, it doesn't seem to matter. Funny how that works.
I was 18 jiji
I was 14 then. I miss the 1990s so badly. The 2010s were lousy and 2020s even lousier. I miss how peaceful things were in 1994 for most of us.
I was 16 and Voodoo Lounge was my 1st concert and my 1st Stones concert. I need my 17th Stones concert now!
Right back at you, I was 15 and probably thought I knew more than you back then....
I was eighteen when they s song came out, I love the rolling Stones. Steel Wheels was my favorite stones album. After voodoo lounge I didn't listen to their new stuff. I love the music the stones made back in the 70s and 60s. I want them to make songs like they used to.
Artistic! Great video. Great song! Still rocking in 2024!
Great song; cool video!
Mick jagger your songs makes me happy
Charlie Watts RIP 🙏🙏🙏
🇨🇱✌️
"My mind is ripped, my heart is torn" gives me chills everytime!

Yep
Nothing short of amazing Rockstars!
Great ..............................Song!
ROLLINGAS!!!!! OF ALL WORLD!!!!! LETS UNITE!!!!!!! LETS BUY AN ISLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rest in Peace Charlie.... you were one of the greats!!!!
Oh my......that was 30 years ago....
but it is still banging. Got bless Stones !!!
What a groove this drum! Charlie was a Legend
Es muss wohl auch, auf jeden Fall genau dieses Video sein.
このキース特有のギターの音(ンチャギチャグチャって感じの)と、ミックのブルースハープと、チャリーのドラムの音と、最高の組み合わせ
Today when I saw in TV Charlie Watts I Play on dvd biography of Rolling Stones now Im here
The way the guitars are recorded in such a "raw" manner is pure genius. It sounds and feels like they were having a jam after a drunken night out. Those guys definitely know how to rock.
How many guitarists have come up with as many iconic riffs as Keith? The Stones are legends
Absolute masterpiece!
Mick does a nice job on the harmonica!
That was genius 😊❤
Larga vida a los stone
This came out in 1994, and these guys are still going strong. Simply awesome! Keep rockin' guys!!
yes, and everyone thought they were ancient then- 1962-2019 and counting
@@roberttompkins6489 2022 now Bob.
@@TheBob3759 2023 now TheBob.
I really like Lexington because I can be there! Thank You so much for having that on your tour!
This song takes me back to when I was young and a guy that I dated it was a physical attraction. There was no substance, cause it was just completely raw feeling of just wanting to be with him no matter the consequences. Lust takes over and then all reasoning goes out the window.
yeah! I still love it in 2021
❤️stones
Descansa en paz Charlie. Saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷

Love the Stones❤
Adiós maestro Charlie, QEPD, crying crying

And their womanly experiences are gigantic...

60 years! Congratulations Rolling Stones!
Mick Jagger was only forty when he did this? 40 years from now I just know where he's at today. Long way to the top if you want to Rock and Roll.
Love this video ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I went to the voodoo lounge concert in Miami. My friend Howy did the lighting for the show. He got me in for free. Best concert ever, thanks to my friend !
RIP Charlie! You‘ll stay forever with your music!
Cuando era casi una niña salió este tema, excelente armónica , excelente melodia❤

Charlie Watts, Rest In Peace, no one could ever replace you as drummer of the Rolling Stones
people tend to say Tattoo You was their last good one... Voodoo Lounge was really good.

Was 11 when I bought this album... Dad stole it...
Charlie Watts, I am so glad to have seen you live, tight as a fist!!!!✊
I grew up listening to the Stones, but THIS is the song that made me a Stones fan. When I was ten, Voodoo lounge was the first album I paid for with my own money - still have the cassette!
I was a junior in high school when the Voodoo Lounge album came out. Good memories and good music.
50 years later I'm still here & so is Mick! Talk about miracles! Still love The Stones even more than I did at 12 years old ♥♥
In my motherland Russia among average 90-s believed to be the worst years of modern history, but how can I explain them that they are the best part of my life. Fresh, alive, true, real. This is a very my life itself. And I am so happy it was. And The Rollings was a part of it. And will stay with me forever

The best videoclip that Rolling Stones ever did.
That last scene with the four walking to the camera is so badass, they're the greatest
