See this is what I loved about the 90s. Women could wear loose clothes, dress like tomboys, but still be sexy and beautiful. I have a deep attraction to women, but everything doesn't have to be sexual. They don't have to be damn near naked all the time. You also saw all skin tones represented. There was a true appreciation for black women. It wasn't all about these exotic women or whatever.
And let me just add for the Guys of the 90s they wasn’t scared to move they body to be in the moment to dance and be free some stuff might be funny to watch them do but I appreciate them and love the style and just how guys wasn’t afraid nowadays everybody got to look cool u don’t even know if a guy can dance , sing or to much of anything besides a sport and u won’t know for years on years bec everybody gotta be looking all cool with the latest and standing in one spot looking around that’s so lame to me and I hate how it’s more about that u see the guys from back then was gone bust a move right with the girls I remember like in house party they use to do dance battles and stuff man I be missing the old times but lucky for the memories
They literally have on short shorts and crop tops. My middle aged self remember there was plenty of times in the 90’s that were too we’re scantily clad! 😊
This has been my jam since it first came out. I’m 52 years old. I have a 14-year-old daughter and she knows this song word for word because her mama plays it so much!
I love the fact that the younger generation shows love for the music that some of us grew up to. Watching your reaction takes me back to my reaction. The first time I was in my dorm room watching this on BET.
Jade "5,4,3,2 Yo Time Is Up" All three members sing on their other songs Jade "I Wanna Love You " Jade "One Woman" Jade"Mr Do Right " Jade "Every Day Of The Week "
This was my jam, every one would light up with this old school gem! 90s Music and females had class that got diluted with substandard quality of today’s crap.
It’s so funny seeing the younger generation react to The New Jack Swing era. Damn, you just had to be there! Every day was fire until like 1998 then the world started to shift. FYI- I met yellow shorts at the height of this song’s fame at…. our family reunion. I was like 7 I think. Met her, the other girls and her dude. Never seen her again in my life.
You're so right about this being a party song!! When I lived in NYC, I had two big parties a year, Christmas and summer, and this song was on EVERY PLAYLIST!!! My friends would go NUTS when this jam would come on. Amazing!! 👍
I was 16 when this came out! This is a CLASSIC, BABY!! The 1st time i wire braids, i had the "Jade Braids", lol. ❤️🔥🎶❤️🔥🎶❤️🔥 And i JUST did some YESTERDAY!! Lbvs. House party joint right here!!
That beat was sampled from Kool On The Gang "Jungle Jazz" Back then it was about a groove. We used to REALLY dance, twerking was called freaking and we used to hold our own w/Uncle Luke. Our generation s music was made for the house parties, get together's, and chilling outside, up to NO GOOD 😊. At least I was 😉
I’m a 46 year old white who still believes he’s 15 which was how old I was back when this sing came out. I listened to nothing but hip hop and rnb starting around 87-88 way through the 90s. Around 92 when this came out-female groups were flooding rnb. Great groups like En Vogue, Jade, SWV, TLC, Zhane, etc. Alot of them infused hip hop beats with their songs. IMO Mary Js “What’s the 411” which was released earlier in 92 was the catalyst of that trend. The beat to Don’t Walk Away was originally from Kool and The Gang but I knew it from Brand Nubian “Drop the Bomb” which was released the year before this song. The music back then was incredible my bro-we didn’t realize how great it was because in essence that what hip hop and rnb sounded like back then. It’s really cool to see younger people enjoy old school-we might sound old when we say this but that music is hands down the greatest era. They call it the Golden Era of Hip hop and rnb for a reason!! Great vid
😂 Mannnnnnn I was 17 when this dropped. Not gonna lie. It was and 30 years later? Instant Eargasm trifecta. That bounce beat That harmony And those sexy af OG Ladies
