    • @ChrisC709
      @ChrisC709 2 года назад +6

      @@kimberlypage5285 Nope. Come back to reality. An "appreciated" artist is an artist who is recognized and appreciated for their artistry decades and decades after their peak. There are a number of legendary music artists from the 80s and 90s who are well respected and revered from the younger generation of today. The fact that Janet Jackson streaming numbers and sales are nowhere near her contemporaries shows that she's not appreciated and underrated by the younger generation. That is the consumers who buy and listen to the music. The fact that Janet Jackson fell off tremendously after Nipplegate at the Super Bowl and her videos(which are legendary) aren't as viewed as many of her contemporaries, shows that the younger generation know little to nothing about her besides being Michael's little sister. Yes, she was inducted into the RnR HoF but that still doesn't translate into relevancy of today. Yes, Janet is the standard by many, but she's still underappreciated.

    One of the most iconic things about Janet was the choreography in her videos which she always incorporates into her live shows. Definitely check out more of her music. She has never released a bad album for me and has so many iconic videos/performances. Check out Pleasure Principle which was a great dance video, If, You Want This, All For You and for some of the smoothest R&B songs, That's the way Love Goes, I Get Lonely.

      @@anthonyanderson9303 yes just to name a few . Beyoncé sold 200M pure sales and 70M with destiny’s child. She also has 70B lifetime streams accumulated in her career (DC + solo), which adds an additional 300-350M sps
      Beyoncé has over 200M certified records to update in the US alone. Pushing her total to 250M as a solo artist and 40M wit dc. Rihanna currently has nearly 280M in the US fully updated. This is when you factor in streaming tho.
      However Beyoncé, Rihanna, Adele, Britney and Taylor swift have also surpassed Janet in pure sales and that’s without streaming which is a big part of modern sales
      It’s only natural since streaming and digital singles are prominent during these times. But even in terms of pure sales Janet was never been a top 5 selling female artist. Mariah, barbra Streisand, Céline Dion, Whitney and Madonna all sold more in pure sales. And more modern artists have to

    This song....no...this entire album pushed a generation (my generation) into action. Stopping violence, hatred, and bigotry. Taught a lot of people about the evils of racism, and how it is a negative impact on all of us. Education was the message as well. People went back to school in drones after this album.
    8...8 Billboard awards in a single night.
    The most definitive album of my youth.

    You should do a reaction to Janet Jackson's CONTROL. A straight rocker.

    You must react to En Vogue - "Hold On," "My Lovin' (Never Gonna Get It)," "Don't Let Go (Love)."
