About time! Live in the Raw was the first "cassette tape" I ever bought back in I think 85. Funny thing was, my mother had to buy it for me, at least she was open minded considering the new explicit lyric label on the front. Oh the good P.M.R.C. days. Thanks for posting!

Lawless is simply the best metal vocal of all times (along with Mike Patton of Faith no More). Before I fucked up my voice, I could recreate every metal voice except for Blackie's gargle. He has it all, the highs, the lows, the power, the depth, all while singing in perfect tune..His voice is just scary, the monster voices of modern metal bands look like nuns singing next to this guy, that can make any lullaby sound terrifying. They had stage scenes that make Marylin Manson look like a cry baby. Headless Children is their best album and this is their best cover. Not many bands can play with this powerful feeling. Most underrated band, with lots of amazing song writing hits, and very original musical notes register. They really raised the bar of what really good metal bands are meant to be. Dumb asses think that defining good music is all about taste, the brains of the world know that everything is measurable and quantifiable.

Though I liked everything from WASP during the 80s, their debut was easily their best. Most fans say it's The Crimson Idol, but their debut is my favorite cd of time. Sleeping in the Fire is the greatest ballad not very many people have heard...and the message of that song is so fucking true! When you're drunk on love....you're sleeping in the fire. And to top it off, the best damn guitar solo ever. Chris Holmes makes that guitar cry. A fucking bad ass, amazing ballad....

In ' 89 I remember buying this cd (among other things) with my new Best Buy credit card for my drive back home to Mercedes, TX from Fargo, ND. I played it over and over again. I was a fan of the band since their debut. I especially liked this song cuz the bass lines after Blackie singing sounded cool. Forever Free and Mean Man were great songs too. It was a great CD. I always kept rewinding the title track often though...it was a lyrical masterpiece! My apologies to Best Buy....cuz I never payed my store credit card😂.

Fantastic cover of a great song. If you want to hear the best (and most powerful) version of this check out The Who live at the Albert hall in 2000.

Much kudos to these fellows - this cover is done with much faith and the energy required to make it "work" as the who did so many years ago. I certainly did not expect this upon hearing of this cover. Very well done.

Two different things here: the basslines on this song is awesome. This cover from WASP is incredible. The Crimson Idol is a masterpiece of Rock'n''roll/Heavy Metal, but The Headless Children is nearly there. WASP, and mainly Blackie Lawless, is insanely good. But the way John Entwistle plays, the original version from the 70's, Keith Moon and The Who itself are way, way above this...

There are only two-Who covers that I can say the bands performing them, killed it.
    1. Is this cover, of course, AND
    2. The Scorps with " I Can't Explain."

What an incredibly good heavy-metal interpretation of a classic hard rock masterpiece, completely different interpretation. Blackie was so talented. Great songwriter in himself call bringing great melody to black/heavy metal. You can see the influence of him being a Beatles and who fan, before he transitioned into the metal scene.

To further run my mouth, the Who were not the most happenin' band with the young crowd in...what was it, '89? WASP's performance of a Who song was a great way to reintroduce a band to the masses, as well as dishing out a classic for young kids of the time who might not have been all that familiar with the Who.
And Johnny Rod is truly copping the Entwistle vibe, here. Rod was pretty much a supporting bassist, so it's nice to see him let off the chain to rock that 4-string Ironbird...
    LOVE IT!!!
