Named our son Steven, as we never met a Steve we didn't like. And this Steve is A+ on the reviews. So nice to see this and so many of his lessons before the headache of buying the wrong product. Interesting so many like LG...Service providers on west coast tell us to run when it comes to that brand. The compressors in the fridge are the worst! Two Kenmore Elite (LG) fridges in 4 years. Not to mention all of the meat in the freezer. I like the look of LG, but will never pull that trigger again.
Many of these Luxury Appliance Brands are not available on the Western half of the United States. I am also a believer that some of the negatives pointed out are positives in other peoples' minds, such as no Wifi or even no clock or timers that are prone to failure. Some of us prefer the mechanical thermostats that have been around for a Century.
You have a point. La Cornue can cost $250,000 yet doesn't have a clock. However, Smart will evolve eventually into a worthwhile feature. Manufacturers should at least start now
It's the mechanical features that break, not the digital stuff, typically. My last fridge had wifi and all sort of electronic features but it was the ice maker motor in the door that failed 3 times.
Miele 5000 Series: ABSOLUTE CRAP! When you want your kitchen floor flooded, buy Miele. That is my 3 week ownership experience. Waiting for the recyclers to pick this crap up and take it to the dump. That being said, not your fault! Thank you for your videos. I have learned a lot. I wish you had a location in the Midwest
Love the videos - you do a great in depth review on these appliances. Would love for you to do a review on Thor, Forno and Z-line. These seem to be in a more affordable price range these days but not if they are not good quality. Thank you for the videos
The LaCornue has a charming look and you could always buy a separate timer (finding a GOOD timer these past few years is another matter) and I actually prefer NO Wifi tied to anything beyond my computer, but the lack of a glass window on the oven is a definite deal breaker. There's a reason glass windows became very popular on ovens. Once saved our electrical bill hides (and maybe more) when noticed light coming from the stove through the window. Early-stage dementia parent had left it on. I really like the look and functions of the True Refrigerators and Freezers. Even got quotes for them and was ready to bite the bullet.... but they only have ONE service repair location in the entire metro Phoenix area and its pretty darn far away. Deal breaker. Am now trying to decide between Thermador and SubZero. Family had a SZ about 15 years ago and it turned out to be a lemon just once inside warranty and then again just outside of warranty, so am skittish. Both offer multiple choices for servicing with good reviews. Both are grit-your-teeth expensive. Thank you for your videos. I'm finding them the most educational for higher end products.
I have a thermadore pro grand and the free dishwasher that comes with the range. The range is 6 yrs old and caused me so many problems from temperature inconsistency to damaging my wall because the installer insisted we didn't need a back guard (we did). Seems like all the luxury brands are more for looks than every day use. My repair person said we are better off with a cheap brand and replace it regularly than an expensive one because they are all unreliable. :(
Highly considering doing an all-Monogram suite for my upcoming kitchen remodel, but some of the older reviews (especially for their refrigerators) scare me a bit. I could always go for the always-recommended Sub-Zero (planning on a 42" built-in), but it's about $3000 more.
What WOULD you say? Would love to see you compare the 30" glass door fridges. You said once about spending much money and getting a great fridge or spending less and getting a good fridge. At nearly ten grand, which isn't dog biscuits, the Monogram® 30 in. 14.6 Cu. Ft. glass door fridge is beautiful to look at but I can't find a review of it anywhere. What other brand does Monogram compare to? Thanks.@@YaleAppliance1
What about the cafe French door double build in oven? I just got the subzero 48 build in fridge and the wolf range top but going with the cafe French door build in wall oven because of my back and shoulder problems and pain.
No review of Five Star Ranges? Mine lasted 28 years before anything went wrong. Just ordered a new 30" one. I like that it has the 2 tiny simmer flames for the 2 front burners.
@@YaleAppliance1 Thank you! I was looking into getting a 24-inch Integrated Wine Column by SKS that'll be placed next to an SKS 30-inch Column Refrigerator and a 30-inch Column Freezer . I was thinking about having a wall with just refrigeration on it and keep it steel. What would your thoughts on that be?
@@RyokoX37 SKS is a phenomenal choice for wine column. Company is headquartered in Napa, CA. They took feedback from wineries to develop the perfect wine refrigeration. Sold my fair share of these units since my company started carrying SKS at the beginning of COVID. SKS has outstanding warranty too (3 years + 5 day repair promise: if anything breaks SKS has 5 days to send someone out there to take a look at the unit and fix it or they will replace it or compensate you for the inconvenience)
@@YaleAppliance1 what are your thoughts on SKS appliances? I personally don’t like the look of their microwave wall oven combo - it looks very basic but the sales guy is pushing for it because it has good features and good service. I like Jenn Air but the reviews on consumer reports are not great.
Do not buy Monogram appliances. The Dishwasher I purchased lasted 3 years… the fridges compartments such as crispers and shelves cracked and were crazy expensive to replace…. the knobs on the wall oven have lost all the numbers so I have to guess the temperatures now…. I called GE and received zero satisfaction. Forget this product.

Thank you....LG had some compressor issues- 2014-2017. No question. They are better, but I understand if you want to steer clear

All the smart features are ugly too. I want simple, easy to use, beautiful, and color. And I’m not talking colored glass panels.

Are the Monogram ranges loud? 36 and 48 inch models.
Good question....not sure. They have a similar fan as others, so you will hear it.
What you thoughts on iLve an zline stove
Not good ones.
How are Smeg or Forte? Both have some great designs and options at reasonable prices to offset their lack of reputation.
Carried SMEG years ago......I love the look, but I wouldn't be so quick to buy it.
Why Dacor is not mentioned?
I like Dacor, but haven't sold it in 25 years.
