Trap is a good manager and has experience it's just that we can't go into a game like Spain could or we would be thorn apart. Nobody finds it easy to beat Ireland, we cause problems for every team and Spain and Italy know that. I think it was a mixture of nerves and too much confidence for Ireland against Croatia, most of the players haven't played in big matches like these and then the 14 non-lose streak gave them a bit much confidence. Trust me we will do better, we couldn't possibly do worse.
He will learn from his mistakes though, he can't make and major changes but it's the little ones that count. Do not take all this out on Trapattoni, he got us here, show respect. I love the way he plays but he only has a certain amount of talent to work with. Irish fans aren't going to be happy but we aren't sore losers and we don't go home mid match. We still sing 'Fields of Athenry', win lose or draw. Hopefully we will win Italy and draw with Spain, it's possible.

i agree with you that some of his decesions have been questionable, but really the results speak for themselves. two tournaments, two play-offs, dont forget that before trap we were geting spanked 5-2 by cyprus. i know it not nice to watch, but trap knows how to get the best (even if its not that good)out of a very bad team, we were just completly outmached at the euros, his style is generally good for qualification where were playing worse teams
And what?Trap got a bunch of Championship and Premier League reserve players to their first major tournament in ten years.McGeady,McClean,Duff,Hunt with Long,Cox,Keane,Walters,Doyle are enough for our creativity,a strong pair of midfielders is what you need to counter more gifted players.It's not as if we can sign players,Trap has done fantastically well with limited players.There's a lot more to football than step overs and bicycle kicks.
The main reason Ireland win is because of their defence, as you may know we do not usually concede many goals then we would get it up to Keane but put it this was our defence was shite, Keane played shite, Given played shite. He should have put on McClean, I don't know what he was thinking but hopefully he will learn from his mistakes and make a few better tactical decisions. At the end of the day we still had the better fans.
