After recently picking one of these up this video is pretty darn inspirational. Thank you for posting it.
Thank you very much! I hope you enjoy yours too!
Nice video, and great looking hmmwv. I just bought one to go with my deuce and a half. Love military trucks
@@Jay172967 thank you! Sounds like a great combo!
Great video! Thank you for sharing it!
Thank you!
Great video, subscribed and looking forward to more hmmwv off-road videos
I like your Humvee, the most handsome and roughed rig that I've seen. It's my dream machine.
Thank you very much!
What a great video! Straight forward and to the point with awesome narration and an amazing rig. Thank you!
Thank you very much!
Very cool video. Great shots. Well done. Save travels.
Thank you very much!
Awesome! You need to bring it to Alaska and run with me so we can represent against all the Toyotas and Jeeps. Great looking truck. I’m in dire need of rock sliders. We were out last weekend and it beat them up!!!!! I’m subscribing!
I would love to take it up there! Alaska is the only state I haven’t been to yet and it’s on my bucket list. Thanks!
Super video..... I am yet to take mine off road but this really makes me want to do it
Thank you! I started testing it locally and then slowly built confidence before taking it on a trip like this.
Looked like a lot of fun
They were made for off road. It is where mine does its best work. But be warned…you will scratch it up and bang it up if you push it. The military guys have free parts. We have to pay for ours. Makes me timid sometimes but it is best when you let it rip!!!
Great vlog brother 👍
Thank you Gil!
Great work done by you. I have M1123 👍
Thank you! Mines an 1123 too.
Sweet truck
Thank you!
Great video. Would give both testicles to own a HUMVEE like yours. Thanks for sharing
Thank you! Hopefully you find another way to get one and it doesn’t come to that, haha!
Excellent!
Thank you!
You made it look easy!
It was all the truck! The key is just being proficient with Brake Throttle Modulation.
Yes he did. But I tell you that the camera seems to take elevation out and it never looks as bad as it really is when you go back and look at it on camera. I was leaning in and out on my couch watching him because those weee some steep climbs.
@@dsmracer524I suck at brake modulation. It is so mentally backwards to stab the brake when you need throttle. But I’m getting better. In mud and snow I’m often in trouble by the time I realize I should have been applying the brake. I’ve gotten my truck serious buried due to driver error.
@@McSpeedAlaskanAdventures it takes some practice but once you figure it out it’s almost unstoppable.
@@dsmracer524 I agree - I've gone back and watched my videos and I can see where I have all four engaged - so I'm getting it right part of the time. But still just a brain twister when trying to remember to do it in the moment.
Nice man I’m in Denton Texas all of us hmmwv hummers guys
need get together.
That would be awesome!
That part of the trail you described as "tippy" is where I believe Eric Ward rolled his H1 down the hill.
Oh wow!
That's nice looking Humvee. What protection did you put between steel rock sliders and aluminum body? I was told that rock sliders might rust the body.
Thank you! I fully Rhino lined the truck prior to installing the sliders. The sliders were also fully coated inside and out with truck bed coating prior to being installed. Other than that, they are right up against the body.
The body is aluminum. They can't rust.
I was looking at purchasing the West Kentucky fiberglass doors. Yours look similar or are yours the original x doors? If their the aftermarket fiberglass ones would you recommend them?
Mine are the fiberglass doors from West Kentucky. They are pretty good but do rattle a lot. I’m still working on making them quieter.
@dsmracer524 Ok, thanks for the reply. I would imagine all the manufacturers have the dame issue...possibly.
Great Video... Hey you mentioned you done work on your cooling system, what did you do? Also where did you get you back rack from?
Thanks! Aluminum radiator, High Output factory water pump, new thermostat, new hoses, and lots of coolant flushes. The bed rack is a Westin Overland rack for a Toyota Tacoma that I modified to fit.
Thank You!
@@louleone1032 no problem!
Those 38's seem to be the perfect size. Not just for offroad performance, but they look great too. Do you have a lift on it? Hope to see more!
Thank you! I have the American Humvee A2 springs all around and cool spacers up front. It’s about 3” of lift up front and 1” in the rear.
If you have a turbo truck that has the factory body lift, you can fit 38's with no lift or changes whatsoever.
@@nothingtoseaheardammit Interesting, I didn't know that. I had always heard that 06 Alpha's had a body lift to fit the Duramax, but I didn't know that the body lift went back to all turbo'd trucks too. Thanks for sharing!
@Mr-Bogs not as much as the alphas. An inch max. Can't remember exactly...
What are the specs on the tires n rims...and did you lift it also?
Tires are 38x13.5 Toyo Open Country MT mounted on 18x9 ION wheels. It has American Humvee A2 Springs (slight lift plus 30% lighter rate) all the way around and MME coil spacers in the front. So about 3” of lift in the front and 1” in the back.
Any chance you could tell me how you modified the Westin overland rack?
I've either built or had someone build all my sliders and racks and stuff for my Humvees. It's built better and you can get exactly what you want. Any welder in your town can do amazing things. Take it home and paint it.
Great vid. Another thumbs up for the wheels and tires package. Any idea on the offset?
Thank you! Tires are 38x13.5 Toyo Open Country MT’s and wheels are 18x9 ION 189’s. I am not sure on the offset though.
It's whats called "ball joint killer" offset. The only real wheel options that should be considered for the HMMWV and H1 are factory offset wheels that have the correct offset which loads the spindle bearings evenly inside the hub. Hope this gentleman has checked his spindle nuts.
@@nothingtoseaheardammit I have the BlueHummer locking spindle nuts and the newest AM General ball joints on all 4 corners.
Where did you get the grill screen painted like the flag?
I bought it on Amazon. It’s made for a Jeep and just required a bit of trimming to fit the Humvee.
What kind of paint did you used in humvee ?
I painted it myself with Raptor liner and it’s held up great over the past 2 years!
I like that bed rack, who’s is it? Also do you have the red dot AC? How did you fill the holes from the armor being removed? I have too many questions😂
Thanks! The bedrack is a Westin Overland rack for a Toyota Tacoma. I had to modify it by cutting 5” out of the length and 3” out of the width to make it fit. Eventually I’d like to move the spare tire to a Rhino swing out on an airlift bumper and mount a rooftop tent on the top of the rack. I don’t have any AC yet but am looking at options. Mine was never up-armored, so I didn’t have any holes to fill. Let me know if you have anymore questions!
@@dsmracer524 Amazing. Thank you for the response!
@@M1151A1 no problem!
They look like an awesome vehicle, don't see too many downunder
Thank you! You don’t see many here either to be honest!
inner portal hub seals....waiting for a leak.. Im on my second set!
I had a leak once but the cause was a lose hub nut. I upgraded to the Blue Hummer locking hub for Mod Mafia nuts and haven’t had an issue since.
Take off the front sway bar and you will get better articulation. I did it to mine and still drives fine .
I have been thinking about it. With as stiff as the suspension is, I don’t think there will be much increase in body role.
I also installed softer springs …
@@mikei8957 me too, I have the American Humvee A2 Springs which are supposed to be 30% softer than the factory Springs but it’s still a stiff ride.
Good
Thanks!
Humvee is a cool car. Symphony of the past of the real America that died under lgbt propaganda)
Por qué. Tanto maltrato a una hermosa máquina
No mistreatment; these trucks were designed for this and do it well!
