Tutsi Genocide Survivor, Theoneste Karenzi | Full Testimony | USC Shoah Foundation

On September 2nd, 1998, the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) issued the first ever conviction by an international court for the crime of genocide.
Theoneste Karenzi’s testimony is featured to commemorate this historic event. Theoneste is a survivor of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda. In his testimony, Theoneste recalls testifying against perpetrators, addresses concerns about justice, and responds to genocide deniers.
