I was there Saturday and when I pulled into the parking lot first thing I see and hear taking off is my favorite RAPTOR!!!! 22yrs old and caught the bug!!!! I am dedicating my life now to aviation and to fly a f-22 or f-35!!! This was my first air show and it was a good show indeed!!!!
I wish I could say I had a positive experience. I wanted to like it so bad but I went on Sunday. From what I know Saturday was received as ok but as someone who went Sunday let me say my disappointment was immeasurable. Was cloudy all day, there was no communication on what would fly, lines were long, and static displays were few and far between. It almost felt like they forgot about the airshow. I mean the amount of cancellations they had over the summer was ridiculous. The F-16 wasn’t told to not be flying until the quickly slid it into an interview with the pilot and everyone just left immediately. The F-35 was never even mentioned all day which leads me to believe they knew from the start but didn’t want to say causing them not to have a crowd show up. Overall just felt really sloppy and disappointing which was a shame since I’ve never gone to this show before. Even comparing it to the Westfield airshow in May this year it doesn’t hold a candle. That one was so much better organized with no breaks in flying and they made it work even though it’s been over 6 YEARS since they last had one. I really hope this is not the standard here which as I understand it isn’t and the 2021 show appeared to be fantastic. Just hope they can vastly improve next time. Sorry for the long rant but had to say it somewhere. Either way thanks for uploading this and great video. At least I saw the Viper Demo Team on here.
should be better next year. Cancellations rocked this show, and not having the TBirds or the Blues will always disappoint people. Unfortunately they can’t do much about the weather, but I believe they’ve learned from their mistakes and will make next years show much better. If it’s not, it’ll probably be the last one we see for a while
Not the best show to be honest, I'm sure everyone involved tried their best, but couple fly-overs that didn't even land, repetitive schedule and very few performers easily rate this as the worst "pro" show I've seen in my 20 years of going to them. I am not placing blame, maybe military is cutting back etc.. but pre-COVID things were different and better. The F-35 flew for what felt like 2 minutes, no slow passes, no real interesting stuff, I assume it's because it wasn't some dedicated demo team? I still enjoyed it all, but it was disappointing. A single F-22 demo from years ago would blow the doors off this entire show. A+ for traffic management, that was at least very well done! The audio too, often it's muffled mumbling nonsense, it was super clear and very well done also.
My guess is that the F-35s can’t do much as they aren’t a demo team and they aren’t preforming for their home base. On Saturday at the 2021 show they only did two passes before landing. Apparently on Sunday they did a few more passes but I wasn’t there for that.
The F-35s that flew were not supposed to be there for the show, they were there for a scheduled training mission and we were lucky to see the two passes on saturday.
