James Rice I was in the 39th just before they went 317 AMXS. I then worked both red and blue birds before they all got the flag flash on the tails. I got to jump from 1688 blue tail after working it when I swapped to army airborne
Smooth sweet noise. But in the '70s lots of politicians in Italy and Japan could not sleep being found receiving money from Lockheed to sponsor and promote these airplanes to their governament...😄
Snooze on a C-130 for 6 hours...switch to a Convair 340 for 1 hour...finally,the Boeing B-17 'Flying Fortress' is the cherry on top...Being a fan of military planes, this gets close to really sleeping on board. I love it!!!
Great low sound, just wish there was a vibration unit you could put with the sound to make your bed vibrate like the real thing. C-130, 30,000 ft, a little chill in the cabin, night, low drum and the vibrating engines. No better sleep in the world. Go Navy
Actually yes they can and have, in the old E models it would take 8 hours of flight to get there. The new J models on their flight test flew to 36,000 feet. Air traffic control generally doesn't like them up there due to being slower than jet aircraft at the same altitudes.
Sleeping at altitude in a chilly cabin at night nestled against your comrades like a pile of puppies. The drone of those engines and the snoring of brothers-in-arms gave me the best sleeping moments of my life.
Used to have a big bag of yellow foam ear plugs hanging by the ramp as you got on board, never wore them got my sleeping bag out and had some real good sleeps on long trips before jobs.
My grandpa used to have an old soviet electric fan that used to sound like this, and im not gonna lie I miss every single time we went to sleep with it right next to my face. Good memories
I actually worked as a crew chief in the 80's on aircraft 6569 the AC-130H pictured on the thumbnail of this video. Shout out to TSgt Ray Benton, the head crew chief on 6569 back in the 80's and 90's.
Man you're so right, I think just back to them days and think what it was like pack in a 130 with 63 other troopers going on our little trips, and how many of us be snoozing when it was time.
Yeah I worked on c-130’s for six years in Air Force then went to the army and jumped from same tail number I used to work daily. 29 countries in this lovely airplane and it puts me out every time. Content ... and goodnight .
This recording helps me sleep through the night. The meds I receive from the VA don't even come close to working as well as this relaxing sound. Thank you for everything you do for us out here.
This really enhances a Trans Atlantic jet flight. Just play it through noise cancelling headphones to cancel out cabin noise and sleep like a baby the whole way. The natural motion of the plane convinces you you're in a 4 engine prop plane.... Nirvana.
I always loved flying on C-130s, (The Four Fans of Freedom!) Sitting on the troop seats, the engines startup and I was out like a light! So, so relaxing.
Man, I miss the sound of Allison T56-A-14 Engines. For over a decade, I worked on P-3's and EP-3E's (they used the same engines as a C-130) as an Aviation Electrician's Mate in the Navy, and this sound is nearly spot-on for the interior cabin sound. Every time we would go out on turns, I'd have to fight to stay awake since it's so comforting. Thank you for this!
Imagine how I felt. I was a Sensor 1 for 20 years (75 - 95. I was a "Dub" before everybody was a Dub!) It was bad enough sitting there in the tube for 8-10 hours with 2 and 3 turning and burning (one of my PPCs used to loiter 1 and 4! to save fuel). But add in the "Big Blue Sleeping Pill" - The NATOPS Manual, and it's no wonder they used to call me "Wheels Up, Heels Up"! The hardest flights to stay awake were the TransPac Repo flights from Moffett to Misawa or Kadena.
Tommy is correct, as a crew chief that got the rare privilege to fly for something a few times I discovered that it is incredibly loud and very cold. I had my headphones, 2 neckwarmers (one for my hair and eyes, one for my neck and mouth, leaving my nose free to breathe through), a travel pillow, warm underclothes and a good sweater. It still managed to be louder than I had prepared for. Feeling nostalgic tonight. Well, I'm near a conflict zone right now and the helicopter and fighter jet noises passing by mixed with the occasional distant resonant boom that I feel all the way in my bed. Back when I was on base, those noises made me feel safe. (And our dormitories were far enough from the fighter squadrons so it was usually bearable at night) These days... I miss peace.
This was a very welcoming sound on the remote (LRRS) sites of Alaska; it meant that we were getting supplies, fruit, mail. . . Or during the Vietnam War, the same drone. And in the '50's, the sound of PBY's warming up (or coming in) sounded very similar to this. So easy to reminisce, to this. Thank you.
well then I too am strange, I found this drone sound blocks out the noises, also girls have a different frequency range than guys do, from the net search:::::: The voiced speech of a typical adult male will have a fundamental frequency from 85 to 180 Hz, and that of a typical adult female from 165 to 255 Hz. Thus, the fundamental frequency of most speech falls below the bottom of the "voice frequency" band as defined above. As near as I can find a Pratt & Whitney T34 Db rating is 113 db, I surmise that is each engine,
Sounds like the L-188 Electra. Reminds me of a couple years ago being inside the quiet hangar while they were doing power runs on the Electra outside late on a Saturday winter evening. The big hangar doors muffling the sound of those roaring Allison 501-D13 turboprop engines made this exact ambient sound that filled the whole hangar. It was a pretty good sized hangar too. While waiting for my dad to finish working on his truck, I went and took a snooze in one of the other Electra’s that was inside the hangar. (mind you I was only 15 at the time hanging out at my dads work so don’t worry I wasn’t on the job while snoozing) The low bass humming sound put me out cold. This video brings me back to those good times. Best sounding airplanes ever.
Wow!!! It's been 49 years since I heard that beautiful sound!!! On long flight missions I would sometimes go back to the ramp and lay back and catch 40 winks!!! I can't believe how much I love this sound.
Same here. Once I got on the 130 and I got that first smell of JP-4 when the GTC fired up I would immediately be at peace. The sound of all the environmental control systems with their high pitch whine and the metal deck vibrating under me was pure heaven. I never slept on the ramp but I spent a lot of flight time crashing out on the troop seats or the actual floor itself. Oh to just have the chance to fly on a 130 again.
……one of my fave YT vids’ is of a Lockheed L-188 ‘Electra’ on start-up…… those powerful Allison prop engines’ revving is music to me………the military ‘Hercules’, & ‘Orion’ are its’ ‘descendants’……… very worthy!
I worked for a short period of time at what Used to be KELLY A.F.B. doing security. I would patrol past the A.C.-130 engine repair facility. While they were testing one or two of those big beautiful engines, and it was an amazing experience. How loud they were. And even at 25 yards it still shook my patrol vehicle a little bit. I Loved it.
I found this several days ago and have it on ever since. I just read a comment about headphones and have them on now. What a difference. A couple of years ago I treated myself to a B17 flight. This sounds just like being in the plane. Walking thru the plane looking down thru the bombay into the countryside. I have a sleep disorder and severe tinnitus. This is just what the dr. ordered. No pun intended. Oh, if anyone has an opportunity to fly in a B17 take it. It's well worth the time and money.
I was in the AF and was on the crew of a C-130 as a ParaRescueman I have traveled the world on this AC and slept like a baby in my jungle hammock rigged on the tail......Love to sleep on this sound....
Reminds of my childhood we lived near an airbase with USAF, RAF, CAF, would have Hercs, Vulcan Bombers and Air Tankers running their engines would put us to sleep as children in the 1960s&1970s
Definitely do different sounds on different occasions. Started with rain & waterfalls b4 discovering planes. These have a more consistent sound. Work really well.
Love it, Love it!!! It has a soothing effect, reminds me much of the prewar Zeppelins' engines- wonderful low droning sound to help you get into dream mode!!!
This is a utopian experience. Well done! I put on my Bose QC's and The chaos just melts away. I am a diagnosed insomniac and I suffer with tinnitus. This sound, this perfect sound-wave, at this megahertz, is like an elixir of peace. Thanks for posting. Peace be with you.
Since my childhood, I listen to sounds (sensory massages) like this which calm me, relax and cause a deep sleep. Today, I realized that I was not alone in this case and decided to share these moments of well-being. Thank you very much for your benevolent message that makes me happy and encourages me to produce other relaxing sounds. See you soon for other experiences. Take care !
I can't understand how you can give a dislike to a "white noise" video. It would be the same if I don't like shoes because they are shoes. These videos help a great many people to relieve insomnia and stress. I like this video. Best regards
95% of all dislikes are from misclicking, big fingers and small phones. People also use dislikes to keep things from being recommended to them in the future, so a dislike shouldn't ever be seen as an actual sign someone dislikes the video lkl
Your video has me to sleep in 20 to 25 mins instead of 1 to 2 hours I realy appreciate this vid and i thank you for the sleepless nights you have saved me from. BIG love.
this is GREAT! I have nostalgic and memorable association with the sound of a C130 aircraft flying Especially back in the days when I was a kid , When it was my bed time and I would hear C130 flying in the distant around 1-2AM and it felt wynorrific . One night I looked out of the window and saw the C130 flying up in sky where the moon was visible and sufficiently bright in the dead of the night. The combination of the familiar sound, the presence of the aircraft, and the illuminated night sky created a unique and remarkable experience.
I once flew from Hawaii to California on a C130 and slept on the floor over a landing gear access panel. Ever since that time I have had to have some sort of white noise when I sleep. So naturally, this one is pretty special. Thank you!
This particular video is so efficacious at helping me sleep. It’s certainly done the trick many times. I’ve got a problem with insomnia, for many years... I’ve dealt with the effects OF it, however this video, along with other soothing ASMR videos have helped me in falling asleep soundly. Also? These videos are GREAT for helping you to relax and just think 🤔 💭 Anyway, I just wished to thank the owner(s) of this channel for their amazing work, can’t even BEGIN to imagine as to how much work and effort go into making this content. Thank you and my regards. -Ven. 😊🙏🏼
OMG SUPER nostalgic, I was a paratrooper for 5 years. Did my static line jumps mostly from C130 and sometimes CH-47 this sound can really make us sleep~ After entering the aircraft the low engine noise sure make us go for a quick nap before our stick have to stand-up/hook-up
I worked in the engine shop in the wy air guard for many years....any time we went some where in them I was always asleep by the time 3 was run up...good memories good sleep, actually rounds out my tinnitus
Almost the right frequency for drowning out the neighbor’s loud bass music, which has been going for the last four or five hours. Am considering building a massive pulse jet engine with which to pay them back.
This may sound strange, but in the 80s I worked in San Francisco, and I had a 4 hour lunch. [i worked 5 am - 7 pm] I used to go out to SFO before it was closed off at the head of 1L & 1R, and I would sleep to the sound of the takeoffs.
Used to sleep like a baby to this in the 82nd Airborne. Looking for a video like this of a C-141 though. REALLY sleep great on that bird. I want to turn my smart lights to red and have internal sound of C-141 in my bedroom..
For us old Herk crews, this is better than sleeping pills. What a sound, what memories, so blessed.
Miss jumping from them
you spelt Herc wrong
@laurie kraynik I never served in the military but did leave relatively near an air base that used them. So I heard and saw them regularly.
Laurie Kraynick dammit! I was the 40th to like your comment. The 40th AS sucks! 39th AS rocks! Flying Assholes...I mean...Trailblazers!
James Rice I was in the 39th just before they went 317 AMXS. I then worked both red and blue birds before they all got the flag flash on the tails. I got to jump from 1688 blue tail after working it when I swapped to army airborne
C-130 is the most comfortable plane ride I have ever been on. One giant rocking chair, lulling you to sleep.
Smooth sweet noise. But in the '70s lots of politicians in Italy and Japan could not sleep being found receiving money from Lockheed to sponsor and promote these airplanes to their governament...😄
C-130 Rolling down the strip, Airborne daddy going to take a little trip.
I listen to this every night now. The roar of those props are very soothing, especially after a long day. I’m glad I found this. Amazing job!
Snooze on a C-130 for 6 hours...switch to a Convair 340 for 1 hour...finally,the Boeing B-17 'Flying Fortress' is the cherry on top...Being a fan of military planes, this gets close to really sleeping on board. I love it!!!
Thanks you, Peter for this experienced opinion, have nice flights..👍✈😌
All it needs is a Conwing L-16 with Superflight 100's to be the lullaby at the end
Great low sound, just wish there was a vibration unit you could put with the sound to make your bed vibrate like the real thing. C-130, 30,000 ft, a little chill in the cabin, night, low drum and the vibrating engines. No better sleep in the world. Go Navy
Yeah sure it will be so good ! next time in full immersion......have nice dreams...😔😌🙂👌😴
Open 3-4 tabs of the same video, put a subwoofer in your bedroom and you'll. be all set :)
C130 never flew at 30,000 ft...
Actually yes they can and have, in the old E models it would take 8 hours of flight to get there. The new J models on their flight test flew to 36,000 feet. Air traffic control generally doesn't like them up there due to being slower than jet aircraft at the same altitudes.

Great

Thank you for your service to our country! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
The warm hum of a C-130's engines. It's like a mother's heartbeat to me.
imagine being a passenger and hear this announcement: hello ladies and gentlemen we are landing in your dreams in 1 minute
My grandpa used to have an old soviet electric fan that used to sound like this, and im not gonna lie I miss every single time we went to sleep with it right next to my face. Good memories

Damn thats cool!
Great sleeping sounds for an old P3 Orion crewman!
Former paratrooper . Nothing puts your lights out like the drone of a C-130.
Man you're so right, I think just back to them days and think what it was like pack in a 130 with 63 other troopers going on our little trips, and how many of us be snoozing when it was time.
325th Airborne Infantry Regiment. Only problem is that I get sleepy then I need to pee. Every. Damn. Time.

Yeah I worked on c-130’s for six years in Air Force then went to the army and jumped from same tail number I used to work daily. 29 countries in this lovely airplane and it puts me out every time. Content ... and goodnight .
I never even served in the military but this knocks me out in a couple minutes, usually it takes at least an hour for me to pass out
This recording helps me sleep through the night. The meds I receive from the VA don't even come close to working as well as this relaxing sound. Thank you for everything you do for us out here.

We used the -7 and the -15 on our C-130s when I was in the Air Force. By the way... you guys put the engines upside down on your P-3s. LOL

@jimtownsend: if you weren't in the aft observer seat on the long transits, "Set [condition] 2 in the tube" sounded like "Sleep well" on the Orion.
Is this how it actually sounds like? Damn so relaxing
Pretty much, but is an actual vibration that goes with it that to someone is instant sleep
Imagine this, fifty times louder, a steel bench and your fillings rattling. Sweet dreams.
Tommy is correct, as a crew chief that got the rare privilege to fly for something a few times I discovered that it is incredibly loud and very cold. Used to fall asleep listening to Hercs from the age 3-5, when they’d run them for ages at night on test runs at RAF Lyneham. 👍

My girlfriend thinks I'm strange listening to these videos. Reading the comments clearly I'm not the only strange one
it's not strange. Listening to these takes all other sounds out and u can focus alot better.
not strange at all, when i want to do stuff that requires focus i put on these videos and get shit done :)
I’m using this to test my ANR headset,

H model man. Spent more than a few hours sleeping to this sound. Usually sweating on one side while freezing on the other.
I got 7 hrs 28 mins sleep last night thanks to the pilot.

Thank god. This is the only way I can handle the noise and talking from the loud people in my office.
Smooth skies, Captain.
Kip up high on those cargo nets for that long westabout.
I don’t know why, but this and the sound of chilling wind whipping through the landscape are some of the most satisfying noises to me.
I've looked of this EXACT prop sound for years. I'm trying to figure the best way to play it in my room to sleep. Perfect...

This particular video is so efficacious at helping me sleep. It’s certainly done the trick many times. I’ve got a problem with insomnia, for many years... I’ve dealt with the effects OF it, however this video, along with other soothing ASMR videos have helped me in falling asleep soundly. Also? These videos are GREAT for helping you to relax and just think 🤔 💭
Anyway, I just wished to thank the owner(s) of this channel for their amazing work, can’t even BEGIN to imagine as to how much work and effort go into making this content.
Thank you and my regards.
-Ven. 😊🙏🏼
Merci tellement relaxant !

Love this sound, something about turboprops ...
Great sound. Just what I was looking for . Except it's not loud enough.
try turning up your volume button....
@@hankaustin7091 Really ? That's pure genius. Thanks.
Grâce à vous, j'arrive a mieux dormir car je peux mieux m'isoler en écoutant ce son. Merci a vous.
Avec plaisir !
OMG SUPER nostalgic, I was a paratrooper for 5 years. Did my static line jumps mostly from C130 and sometimes CH-47 this sound can really make us sleep~
After entering the aircraft the low engine noise sure make us go for a quick nap before our stick have to stand-up/hook-up
Thank you for this sincere comment ✈
I worked in the engine shop in the wy air guard for many years....any time we went some where in them I was always asleep by the time 3 was run up...good memories good sleep, actually rounds out my tinnitus
Thank you for this testimony.
Nice. And good fundamental lower frequency.
Thk, have fun !
Almost the right frequency for drowning out the neighbor’s loud bass music, which has been going for the last four or five hours. Am considering building a massive pulse jet engine with which to pay them back.
I say do it.
@@setesh1294 same here.. DO IT!
I dare you! 🤣🤣🤣
Excellent idea :D
let them have fun you fucking loser
29 troop carrier sq loadmaster here, love the noise it reminds me of the hours of sleep over the ocean going to RVN
Who needs just white noise when you can get red, white, and blue noise. I’m falling asleep already :).
AMEN! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
This video helped in more ways I can explain, it still does. Thank you
Every night
Just love this. Thank you.
Love it!
Thanks
Airplane propeller sound for relaxing and sleeping whaaaaaaaaaat?????????😮
"I just want to tell you both, good luck, we´re all counting on you" - Airplane!
Thk 👍
Evolution?
This may sound strange, but in the 80s I worked in San Francisco, and I had a 4 hour lunch. [i worked 5 am - 7 pm] I used to go out to SFO before it was closed off at the head of 1L & 1R, and I would sleep to the sound of the takeoffs.
Used to sleep like a baby to this in the 82nd Airborne. Looking for a video like this of a C-141 though. REALLY sleep great on that bird. I want to turn my smart lights to red and have internal sound of C-141 in my bedroom..
I cannot help myself, this is just beautiful...
This sounds so raw and powerful, love it.
I like hearing this, i wish i could be in a 4 prop plane and just sleep there, then arrive somewhere like alaska or something, peaceful
Have a nice trip ! 😴🙏
