How to Create Dotted Halftone Effect in Photoshop

The real way to do this btw is to take the layer you want to halftone dot, and then Image Mode > Grayscale, and then Image Mode > Bitmap. For the settings, keep the output the same as the input and select Halftone Screen for the method. Then, Frequency: 30, Angle: 45, Shape: Round. If you don't like the results just undo and then reselect Mode Bitmap and repeat the process but this time change the frequency to adjust the size of the dots. @@thomasvml

make sure the Foreground and Background colors in the toolbox are set to Black foreground and White background.
You can press the D key to do that.
