OMG, I feel like I have to send you a handwritten thank you note! I'm SO glad I found you on the internet. I got an instantpot and ignored it for almost a year (I was intimidated and "can't" cook.) Well, boy howdy I sure can cook now. I feel like you've taught me so much so I just wanted to express my gratitude. You are a gem! (so is your food.)
When I need a recipe for the instant pot, I scan all the recipes for what I want to make, but I always end up with YOUR recipes! I love you presentation, enthusiasm and the easiness of it. Thank you for your help in making all my dinners in the instant pot come out delicious.
So...your videos are causing me to have one ridiculous grocery list! I've watched almost all of them in about 2 days! I love the enthusiasm for instant pot cooking! 💕Loves from Louisiana💕
I actually click on your videos without looking to see to see its you...and you always come thru!! Thank goodness they don't go on FOREVER like a lot of videos seem to do. You are succinct, knowledgeable and make it look so easy..which is what we all want. Many thanks
Jeff your the man...You helped kickstart my time in the kitchen. I never cooked before I saw your vids. Now I have my family members looking forward to some of your special recipes. Thx for all your great work..
Don't wait until fall for tortilla soup...in Texas it's year round and even though your recipe isn't authentic because your chili's, onions, peppers & tomatoes weren't charred on the stove top and blitzed through the blender, the fire roasted canned tomatoes were good choice for convenience and time!! Thanks for all the great tricks and tips and recipes for my instant pot! I always know I can go straight to you for new recipes!! Love your enthusiasm!!
I made this today and the flavor is fantastic! It is mildly spicy -- your tongue will not be burning (I'm a wimp when it comes to spice, so trust me). For extra thickness, I added tortilla chips after removing the chicken and used my immersion blender to blend everything together before adding the chicken back into the soup. Excellent!
Wow thank you soooo much for everything you do. I made this soup for my family and everyone love it and it was soooo flavorful. Keep up the good work, again thank you 🙏
Made this tonight! It was delicious! My picky 4 year old was silent. You know what they say...if you’re not talking while eating it must be good. Hubby loved it too. Can’t wait to try your other recipes!
Just got back from Rancho San Miguel Market with all the Fixin's for this soup. Looks Souper? LOL I love the look on your face and comments you make when you do the taste test on all your cooking. Very funny. Keep up the good videos
I made this today and doubled the jalapenos (4), doubled the hot sauce (4T), and used ranch dressing in place of the sour cream (I used what was in the fridge). It is the BOMB...and almost spicy enough. Thank you Jeffrey.
I have made this 3 times and this last time I added 3 good size chicken breasts, we like a lot of chicken in it. I sliced them in half lengthwise just to make sure they cooked all the way through, they were perfect! I also added a can of black beans. We love this recipe!
Love your site, wit and delicious recipes. I picked up a tip on someone else’s site (I can’t remember who🥴). Anyway, this tip is awesome for stirring the instant pot. Use a large binder clip to hold liner to outer side of the pot. It works great🙃 Please keep up the yummy meals🤩
After shredding the chicken, I put it back in my instant pot and ‘slow cook’ it for an additional 4 hours. This thickens the broth and melds all of the flavors together. I recently had bariatric surgery and am still in he puréed phase of my post-op diet. I make it the same way, add a can of black beans drained, and purée it using my immersion blender after the pressure cook is complete. I dice the chicken before adding it so it’s easier to blend without having to remove it first. If you are making this as a bariatric diet soup, remember, this is a TON of food. It lasts for weeks if you freeze it.
I made this tonight and it was delicious! I only added 1 jalapeño, no hot sauce (the family added their own in their bowls) and 2 tbls of an avocado green salsa because that's what was in the fridge.
This looks delicious and I'm making it for dinner tonight! Will let you know how it turns out. Pressure Luck and my Instant Pot are a lazy cook's best friends! 😂
I just got an instant pot, and the first thing I'm making tonite is tortilla soup. x_x I had no idea about the saute function, lol! Did it all in a pan and then dumped it all in the pot.
Add some zucchini and carrots to that soup. That is part of of the recipe give to me by the owner of 3 Mexican restaurants. His recipes are fantastic and close to this.
Hey jeff, love watching your channel, i got something to need to make a video of. Pork green chili. I have a recipe but it takes 4 to 6 hours to make, who has that amount of time.
Do you know if this would freeze well? I’m looking for things I can make and have a couple of servings and then freeze individual servings to enjoy later.
If I have a batch of the Dress It Yourself Shredded Chicken and want to make this soup, when would I add the chicken since it's already cooked? Can I add the cooked chicken in with the soup mix before the cook or should I just add it in to the soup mix after cooking? Asking because I'm not sure how it would effect the texture of the cooked shredded chicken if I basically cooked it again by throwing it into the soup mix before cooking. Thanks.
Made this tonight! I used a little extra lime and jalapeno and it was so good. I love your recipes. You've been instrumental in my pressure cooking journey :)

Thanks for using the ultra
I'm cooking this right now. I got 5 min left. Thanks. It's smells great.
This looks delicious and I'm making it for dinner tonight! Will let you know how it turns out. Pressure Luck and my Instant Pot are a lazy cook's best friends! 😂
I just got my instant pot ultra and I am trying it out tomorrow, making polynésien chicken
Yummmm!
Roasted corn and black bean would really take this up a notch
I just got an instant pot, and the first thing I'm making tonite is tortilla soup. x_x

In Texas if we want to turn down the heat, we rinse out s the seeds in the Jalapeño, the seeds are where the heat is hidden :)
Ok, so I put a can of mild Mexican corn with chillies in this and surved it in bake tortilla bowls WOW 😍😫
Do you know if this would freeze well? I’m looking for things I can make and have a couple of servings and then freeze individual servings to enjoy later.
LeftHandedAquarius yes I made it and froze 2 casserole. they stayed well but once defrosted finished it off.

I'd just make it on the stove since your chicken is cooked and shredded. Heat it through, bring to a nice simmer and cook for maybe 30-45 minutes.
Delicioso!
I’m making this right now.... wish me luck... BRB
Made this tonight! I used a little extra lime and jalapeno and it was so good. I love your recipes. You've been instrumental in my pressure cooking journey :)
I would skip putting the sour cream in it.Love your channel.Keep making soups.
Add a can of drained and rinsed black beans
Some corn would be good too!!!
❤️
If I used 1lb chicken would I still use 12mins or 6mins for pressure cook?
Nom Nom Nom 🍽️🍽️🍽️
Will this soup be OK without the limes and sour cream
How many servings
if your chicken is frozen how much longer should it cook??
I use frozen chicken in my chicken tortilla soup and 20 minutes with natural release works for me.
The cook time will be the same whether the chicken is thawed or frozen. It will just take a little longer to come up to pressure if it's frozen.
Yum 👅
Jeffrey, for a lightning fast way to shred chicken perfectly, use an electric mixer.
What a great idea!! Thanks for the tip.
Strippy and chickkeny!! 😂
This is doable however how do I thicken it up?
Add a cornstarch slurry if you want it thicker. But I think it's perfect as is!
Thanks getting ingredients to make it tomorrow for dinner
Thanks a mill made it turned super lipsmacking deliciously awesome
After shredding the chicken, I put it back in my instant pot and ‘slow cook’ it for an additional 4 hours. This thickens the broth and melds all of the flavors together.
Add can of green Chile’s.
No, the Jalapenos are not "optional" They are mandatory.
I'm not a fan of tortilla soups in general because of the broth alone. I just don't like the tomato/beef/oiliness. This is perfect.
I don’t eat cheese it not good
Chicken boobies bwhahahahhah thank you for making me laugh and for this bomb recipe❤
Ugh. Using Goya makes me sad.
