Thomas called Jesus his Lord and "God" in the gospel of John 20:28 and Jesus did not rebuke him. If Jesus was not God, then Thomas would have been rebuked.

My fiance is christian and so am I; however she comes from a Muslim family and her country of origin is also an islamic controlled state. She is very sympathetic to it even though she doesnt believe the same. It isn't just the bible that makes the claim Jesus asserted he was God in person. How can one believe he is a "great prophet" and try to use that as a way to make middle ground when it makes zero sense that a "prophet" would also claim to be God? Would that not make him one of the most damned heretics? I dont know the verses specifically but I remember there being verses that those blessed with visions/prophecy are commiting vile sins by misusing them or mispeaking them. Wouldn't that mean that muslims would have to believe that if Jesus was only a prophet then he was a disgraceful one? Just doesn't make sense.

Sam, define messiah to Muslims. The Quran states that Christ is in fact the messiah, “A very powerful deity”. Perhaps defining that word would help.
