Just a couple years ago he showed his bank account on twitter with over $24 million in it. I dont think he's broke, I think he just doesnt want to play his creditors...
I heard that dude didn't tip bartenders, people in hotels, would tip waiters 5-10$ on 500$ meals and laugh at them when they said something. He bought that arena team and didnt pay anyone. Brown is a bad person so he probably deserves what's happening
First , AB got kicked out the arena league because he didn't pay his bills. AB is 35 and still flexing and stunting for approval from 16-19yr/olds. It also doesn't help that he's surrounded by "yes men" and "yes family". That's why he does what he does. It's catching up to him. I also think the mental tool of him pissing away $30M is gonna weigh on him even more going forward. All wounds self-inflicted.

I always marvel when I see athletes getting fined $50K, $100K, and more and acting like it's nothing because they have millions today. However, those fines could've generated interest for the next forty or fifty years and could be worth millions. It's not what you earn but what you keep; instead of trying to keep up with the Jones, why not drag them down to your level. (Actually, you shouldn't even worry about the Jones.)
what it means is he doesn't have the liquidity to pay his bills, most likely because he's spent beyond his means. that doesn't mean he's "broke" but it's not good.
Forgive me! But, I am going to say this before watching this clip! I am a Pittsburgh Steelers’ fanatic! And, I saw this coming when he left us! Following the shot that AB took in that regular season game against Cleveland that year! AB had never fully recovered from that! It were a concussion, but more importantly, he were never the same (a mental health issue)! His eggs were scrambled and he should never have been allowed to play until he had been given a psychological evaluation for at least a year! But, his problems soon developed shortly there after that hit! First, with Big Ben and later with Miami and Tampa Bay! It extended to his personal life (domestic assault) and some drug charges later on! Now, finally spends by up all of his money after leaving the game the way that he did!
All I know is what’s reported and that is “Brown claims that he has less than $50,000 in assets, after making $88 million over his 12-year career in the NFL.”
It’s crazy that this is a recurring theme amongst athletes. With all the info out there it should happen less. But we all know it’s human nature we spend because we live in a society that encourages it.
AB is about to see a rock bottom like no other, he made sure to burn the bridge of damn near every person who was around him. We all saw this coming, next comes more legal trouble because when the money dries up, suddenly your actions have a lot more consequences and get highlighted even more.
Yeah, he not just in financial trouble, he also has no good will from others. If say Magic Johnson hypothetically went broke, there's countless people who would loan and help him get back up.
How can a guy be so smart and dumb at the same time. Marcellus explains everything very well and then makes excuses for AB saying it's no big deal, he will hide behind the system to get creditors off his back and be all right. No, he won't because even if he liquidates and settles his debts, the problem will likely still be there.
Bankruptcy is favored tool for that that simply don't want to pay their creditors. Mike Vick is prime example. Black folk acted like he was a hero for paying what owed. He only did it because the bankruptcy judge forced him to. The whole time he was never truly broke or even close being unemployed.
