I miss Bharatnatyam so much. I studied it as a little girl when I went to school in India. It is so beautiful, and I always felt that it is a form of prayer. It is so awesome to see... I remember doing a different variant of the Alarippu but this one is spectacular. Namaste from Canada!
It is a form of prayer😊 you are right.
Its origin is temple dance. It is a form of prayer. Hindu prayer consists of dance, music, chants, yoga, idol worship, fire rituals and good karma. People are free to pick whatever floats their boat.
You can still learn online...thts wat am doing now...doing again after 20years at 32...I am now revising from Talank RUclips videos...
I miss it as well I had a similar experience, when I see my cousins doing Bharathanatiyam I get so sad
Same I watching this full of beautiful nostalgia and tears 😢
Falling love with pure classic ❤

You are respecting our Indian.culture thank you so much❤
Expecting reply from you!
"India is another world". I discovered the culture and religion just over a year ago. I'm a 70 year old Brit - left it a bit late to learn, but watching Indian Raga and Sri Devi Nrithyalaya fills a gap l wasn't aware of. Many thanks to all for your dedication ❤🎉
Indian culture is beautiful, greetings from Venezuela.
@mother earth Would be better without US sanctions. Sure it has nothing to do with oil.....they will mess them up like Libya and Iraq
IKR, you are my paisana btw :D
That is hindu culture actually..

Hi Ethan😮😮
I'm amazed great India ❤️ from the Philippines 🇵🇭
Thanks
Whenever Sophia Salingaros performs, there is some divine intervention.........
две танцовщицы кружатся вокруг друг друга как луна и солнце, непохожие друг на друга, но одинаково прекрасные. Очень трудолюбивые и талантливые девушки, счастья им и их семьям.
I watched and cried😭😭😭 so so beautiful and emotional. We are all connected
@indian weeb desu yeap. I did. Emotional and beautiful
@indian weeb desu art is all about connection my dude. You may not have felt anything, that doesn't mean that the other person should feel the same.
@indian weeb desu and what are those likes giving them? Nothing right?
@indian weeb desu ffs you're seriously jealous that they are getting likes and you aren't? lmao
@indian weeb desu I cried, the end 🥲
They seem like flowers dancing to the tunes of gentle breeze... Every step being so crisp and complete... All the best 👍💐
My grandson Raustin (age 5) is sending you his mini dance video made today, and a few pics inspired by this wonderful dance of yours. He wants to talk with you hopefully as well today he says :-) Namaste.

ख़ुद की तारीफ़ करने में मज़ा नहीं दोस्त ...
Specially South Indian culture. They have preserved their way of living despite modernity. Dance, food and language everything is un-adulterated
Oh please, I love the dance and pretty much that’s it for me, no purer feeling here…
So beautiful! Sophia’s physique looks very ballet-trained.
Fantastic! Amazing precise movements and timing. Greetings from Moscow!

Who is Sophia salingros? Bcs I am desperately trying to find the dancers name.
@@TiTi-bq9wp The White lady is Sophia.
@@chandrakanthveluri9860 thank you so much 💗
@@chandrakanthveluri9860 SHE'S WHITE??
@@Badazl Yeah She is. I think She is from Spain but not sure.
Imagine doing this and looking completely chill without spraining your ankles 😩 y'all rock!
they may look completely chill but as a bharatanatyam dancer i know that in their heads they are saying "ok... so-and-so is the timing for this part, engage core, tuck pelvis, lift from the ankles so they don't get hurt" etc. it's a struggle but it's beautiful!
Bharatha natyam born before 2000 years ago in tamilnadu and all classical dances evolved from bharatha natyam love from telangana.
The dancing is, as expected, quite beautiful. Who, please, is the voice heard on the music's background? He sounds like a teacher?
These are standard vocalisation of the rhythm patters. The syllables together form a certian fingering pattern that the drummer is supposed to follow in a full set up.
What a breath of fresh air this dance is. Beautiful, awesome performance. I really love Indian dancing.
Such control and floetry. Just breath taking. 👏👏👏. Thanks for the suggestion to watch this.
Extremely beautiful! Loved how the alarippu has been transformed !
She is dancing so gracefully and perfectly!
It's beautiful to watch !
love you Sophia and
Isha
Just in awe of the hours of practice that must have gone into such a perfect performance. The grace and precision belies the strength and stamina that I know has to go into a performance like this. Tears of joy from my eyes greet this beautiful spectacle. 🙏 Namaskar from the UK.
Adoro vocês! Incrível o quanto vocês dançam. Sou fã! Abraços do Brasil!
So beautiful! I love this.
Omg they have so much Sync together! Don't know how many times I replayed it ♥️♥️♥️
Amazing! Beautiful music, beautiful and complex choreography (kudos to Sophia!), super skilled and super beautiful dancers!
I am from Delhi and am a Punjabi
Now someone please help me
I am addicted to this video
I have seen it more than 50 times in last 10 days.
This is addictive.
Help me.
Before anyone construes it as a negative comment, irs actually a positive comment
I am obsessed
@@awhig2474 The explanation goes like this .....when mind which is capable of appreciating art without prejudice (one like yours), when exposed to something totally opposite to what it is conditioned to...becomes totally in awe of it and secretes chemicals like seretonin and dopamine which creates a sense of happiness. How is this for a cooked up answer ?Not sure if I have spelled seretonin correctly though.Partially true though.Eg,I am from Kerala but I just love bhangra and Punjabi music even though I can understand only little.Damn, that's a long response!
The only way to not be addicted is to watch a different Indian dance video.....
@@NANA-lh5hk or porn!

Excellent example of Indian dance.
OH DEAR - SO BEAUTIFUL AND GRACIOUS THEY DANCE - MAKES ME VERY HAPPY - THANK YOU - MORE OF THIS PLEASE
I think as far as ensemble work, choreography, and musical performance, this is one of the best Indian Raga has put out. Beautifully done!
I end up watching this at least once a day! If a part of going to the temple and darshan is to 'see' the Divine and remember, this dance too is that. Each aspect of the Divine and His/Her vahana vividly brings that darshan to the mind! Watching this is like a mental puja.
May She whose Grace and Blessings gives a desire, skills and accomplishments in all arts keep blessing you!
wow !! I wish I could see all Indian classical dances competitions and broadcasts on any T.V channel and get the same hype as hip-hop among youth. Love to see every classical dance.
Choreography and execution of it, so beautiful!
Beautifully choreographed piece, I love it
It's takes dedication discipline determination devotion to be a classical dancer.
What a beautiful dance performance ! What lovely Mridangam and Konnakol❤
Sync and coordination amazing!! Lovely performance…
i understand nothing but this is so captivating . i’ve watched this video 5 times today 😭 i love it
I'm a big fan of Sophia mam.... You are born for bharatnatyam mam... I can't take off my eyes from you.... Very nice choreography, superb dance awesome performance... ❤
Isha you are going to be the next Malavika Sarukkai. Choreography is crisp, clean and scripturally rooted. Accurate, authentic and deeply imaginative.
A beautiful spark of inspiration which adds into the diya which lights this 🌍 world! Purely beautiful 🙏🏻
oh my that foreign lady...!! n many indians themselves dont pursue classical
She is fav but expression less look India girl expression perfect
She's amazing. But she makes the dance look very mechanical. There's less grace
I think 'the foreign girl'did wonderful... We are programmed to think they do it mechanical... Watched another dance of the same performers 'Bho Shambho', her expressions are divine, of a complete devotion to Lord Shiva, and I'm a classical dancer myself
@@ramthakur272 she did absolutely perfect, what are you talking about ?
RAM THAKUR I don’t agree at all! In fact her dancing is on point and I couldn’t take my eyes off her. So amazing to see different cultures embrace ours. Let’s encourage and be positive.
When it comes to Sophia, I REALLY WANT TO KNOW HER JOURNEY OF INTREST IN *BHARATNATYAM INDIAN CLASSICAL* loads of love dear, big fan of yours....
This is beautiful and very enchanting.
Amazing dance performance and choreography.. More power to both of you.. Specially Sophia Salingaros

No wonder why Indian culture is the richest. Congratulations to the performers.. great job.. hats off
Truly saying, no one can compete them, being a kathak dance learner, I have seen this video 100s of times.
I loved your dance ❤ It is so wholesome to see every single step ..😊as an avid Bharatanatyam learner,I can assure that you are a real role model for me ❤
Can't get enough of this video yet.. great motivation.
Bharatanatyam is such an exquisite ritual art form. This is a breath taking performance. Heartfelt applause from Canada!
Fantastic, I don't know how many times I have viewed this and sent it to friends. Truly inspirational.
For non Hindus- these two ladies have depicted gods and goddesses from the Hindu pantheon and their respective vahana animals:
Lord Kartik with his peacock.
God Shiv with his bull & cobra.
Goddess Durga with her lion.
God Vishnu, with his eagle & anaconda.
Thank you for explaining - I always wonder what the stories are!
Thank you for sharing!
Absolute Grace 🌼 Divine 🙏
Classical is the best
I love this so much. Also Shiva Shambho is definitely my go-to feel good Bharatnatyam video 💕🌈🌸
I have always felt drawn to this form of dance, prayer, movement. I would love to learn for my own way to pray not for appropriation. Blessings
this is so stunning! truly a rare piece, i loved it!
