Bharatanatyam has different versions in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Songs and the rhythms are also different , I am a Bharatanatyam dancer and the song and the steps till the half was the same but then it all changed. So no one should argue whether her steps are wrong or right 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.

This is a fixed item.. it’s called alarippu for a reason as it sits in that framework. Dancers start to learn to use the adavus they have learnt so far in this item. Alarippu literally translates to blooming or flowering bud hence the steps start from eyes and gradually progress to hands, body, legs and finally full blown. You can always set the music to any choreography but it won’t be an alarippu anymore. But there is no restriction:)
