Hamilton reactions just never get old. Regardless of age and background Everyone is just astonished and have the same reactions with everyone having a favorite song. The last song of the first act basically runs down the entire first act play list effortlessly
The end of non-stop basically makes me cry at least a little every time. The previous themes all intertwining into the harmonies is just astoundingly beautiful.
Really enjoying your reaction. Remember in the opening number, “We, fought with him. Me, I died for him. Me, I trusted him. Me, I loved him. And me, I’m the damn fool who shot him” They tell you the whole story up front. It was the actor playing John Laurens who said “Me, I died for him”. Doesn’t seem to prepare anyone for what comes later on. Just an amazing and deep work. I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say only 6 characters return in the 2nd half. Hamilton and Burr Angelica and Eliza George Washington and King George All the secondary actors come back in new roles. This confuses many. And for some reason was easier to understand on the cast album for me.

His videos are always fun.
Here’s a fun fact. Lin’s last Broadway show, at the end of History Has Its Eyes On You, the part where Hamilton salutes, Christopher Jackson (who played Washington) saluted right back.

Whenever I see Oak (Mulligan), I think about the time he was so in the zone that he accidentally stabbed himself while bobby pinning his mic into his hair. Apparently, he didn’t notice until blood started running down his forehead on stage. Now that’s performance adrenaline! In part one you asked about the historical accuracy and I would say it paints in broad strokes. Angelica wasn’t really in love with Hamilton, though some of their letters were kind of flirty. Burr and Hamilton’s lives weren’t as closely entwined as they are in the show. It also glosses over how many of the characters were slave owners, which has been a common criticism. Still, I think they did a decent job with keeping the main historical framework intact. If you want a wild story, look up Burr’s life, especially after the Hamilton duel!
There’s a third rap battle in which Hamilton argues for freeing slaves, to which Jefferson and Washington technically agree but say it isn’t a good time for it. While Jefferson is notorious for being a plantation owner and fathering children with slaves, he did write about the evils of the slave trade. Washington wrote clauses into his will to free his leaves after his death once Martha was taken care of. That battle was cut for time and relevance to the rest of the story.
Burr wasn’t Lee’s second for the dual in real life. LMM took some creative liberty, probably for the symmetry of Burr and Hamilton being on opposing sides. Most of the play is based in fact, though with a lot of condensing and cherry-picking for time. Lin did take a few liberties though for dramatic/theatrical effect.
If you love Burr's voice, the actor - Leslie Odom, Jr - has a fantastic album that was released in 2019 called "Mister". You should check it out. His voice is amazing!
