So how’s it holding so far? No water inside? I’m planning to have this in my backyard over travertine pavers. Do you think if it rains water will go in from the floor if I don’t elevated? I really was just thinking to secure it directly on the pavers. What are your thoughts please? Thanks for your time
It really is as good as new. Holding up quite well. I think it would work great on pavers. I think It will struggle with water if you put it directly a the ground. Paving stones would be great.

Thank you for the video. I would like to assemble the base , sides and back with roof in the carport and then move it to other side of the home and mount to base. Is it sturdy enough to use a hand truck to move it partially constructed to the other side of the house?
69.5x44.75 are the base measurements. I think you could move it with a hand truck. With a base it is pretty sturdy. Thanks for the question Josh. I am planing another larger shed assembly soon. Please stay tuned.
Great video. Helped me get through some of the instructions that were puzzling. Once I got the wooden foundation made and settled on flat ground, assembled the shed in about an hour by myself. If I may make a constructive criticism, would recommend you cover the foundation frame with boards or plywood. You may have issues flexing the plastic base with no support between the frame rails. I used treated 1x6's to fully cover the foundation because plywood is so ridiculously priced these days. Although that wasn't much cheaper in the end. Anyway, there is zero flex in my floor.
Thank you very much Frank. You really knocked that thing out for one person. If you are not a subscriber I do hope you will subscribe. Thank you so much!
Want to say thank you for your video. Honestly didn't even need to look at the instructions. May I make a HUGE suggestion. The door hinges themselves were NOT easy to understand and you flew right passed that part. If you can go back and edit it honestly BEST video assembly. Great JOB. Again I NEVER looked at the instructions with your video!
I'm in the middle of putting the same shed together had trouble with the doors cuz they would not stay on or snap in to the unit there is a small little hole the bottom of the bracket can I put a screw in there to keep the bracket from popping out
we had the same problem and yes put screws in the hole to keep the bracket steady and on. We are thinking of putting a bolt through the hole to really scure it. Hinge design is very poor.
Doing the same and having the same problem. The hinges are frustrating. They do not seem to stay attached. I was hoping to find some "secret" technique in video but didn't. Everything else was very and intuitive.
According to other videos, YES, you can put a screw there to give it additional strength. I’m waiting for my contractor to put the doors on for me - sooooooo many people complain about those hinges.
Great video! I started to assemble mine today, same shed, I will have several questions for you but one I have now is when you put the roof on do you have a opening at the top back corners of the roof? I do on mine, I'm guessing that is for venting?? unless I did something wrong. I'm concerned that the opening is big enough for bees to get in and think about making a nest. Thanks for your reply.
Thank you so much. I don't recall any gaps. Can you send me pictures on instagram so I can see what you are seeing? Then I will go out and see if mine is the same. My instagram is yt_dads_garage. I can check it tonight if you can get those pictures over to me. Thanks jlc7300!

Great video. Thinking of getting this for storing my generator, could a guy drill/cut a hole through the floor so an eye bolt could go into the concrete base easily?
Good question. I really don't remember what it said about the base. I just used what I had done in the past. I think I did this video about 2 1/2 years ago and it's still as solid as the day I built it. I have built several of these bases and I think I have always built them from 2x4's. The thing I don't like about the 2x6 other than the price is it makes the floor higher and more difficult to get things in and out. Sometimes that can be an advantage but I have found most times it's a disadvantage. Great question Patrick. You really can't go wrong either way. Hope if not subscribed you will be kind enough to do that. I appreciate you sir.
We’re out of town at the moment so I can’t measure it. So, I’m gonna guess it’s probably 5x3 (roughly). This only you couldn’t even get 1 adult bike in. I have a few other Suncast slide top sheds. They are probably 6x4 and they will fit 2 bikes. Great question. Thanks so much. I do hope you will help me out by subscribing. Thank you so much!
I think a concrete pad is always a better choice if you are sure you won’t want to or need to move it. In my case I wasn’t sure if I would need to move it. With that said it would take a heck of a wind to move this thing. I really think it would start ripping apart before it would be moved my the wind. Thanks for the comment. I look forward to hearing back from you which direction you go. Thank you.
Slightly different question. I am buying this from a neighbor who’s moving so I have to disassemble it to move to my place. I could easily get the plastic bolts out of the roof with the tool that came with it, but can’t get the three in the back panels to budge - and I bought some hex bits for my drill but they are too small. Any ideas how to get those out?!
Great video. I'm considering one of these, and this helped. However, when you and especially the young man with you are trying to close and open the doors, it looks like they don't work very well at all. Can you comment on that? And on what others have said about the door hinges not being good? Thanks!
Thank you. Glad it was helpful. We just made a little adjustment to the left door and it is pretty good now. It still needs a tiny bit of encouragement but it's fine. I have had no issues with the hinges. Being that they rotate on a metal bracket there is little stress on them. This has now been 13 months and it is rocking along jus great. I would appreciate your subscribing if you have not already. Thanks so much.
@@DadsGarageDIY having a hard time drilling the screws into the hinges. The mechanism to secure the hinges onto the frame seems weak.. if you were to pull on the doors, do you think it would come off?
@@roki33524 Without the screws I do think it would come off. I was a little worried about that too. But, when I got them in it seemed to be stronger and I haven’t had any issues.
Thanks! Nicely done. Only problem is I cannot see what you're doing at the bottom which seems very important. The video cuts off the floor level which is where you're doing some important stuff. At any rate, it was very helpful. Thanks again.

My husband assembled mine several days ago, and I love it. My she shed, for my gardening supplies. We installs 3 shelves on the protrusions on the sides. But where did you get the tool hangers? I would like several of those?
Hi Elizabeth. Mine came with the tool hangers. They are ok. Pretty light weight. But, they do the job. Did yours come with the shelves? Mine didn’t come with any.
@@DadsGarageDIY No, did not come with shelves. Bought them at Lowes. But be careful with the length, they are about 3/4 in longer than listed in the manual. I figured it out the hard way. Measure before you buy. I wasted $55.
we have one of these or a very similar one - ours has a J Channel thing that goes on the front of the roof, yours didn't seem to have one of those, or you didn't install it?
Not sure if you saw the whole video but we found that when we almost had it complete. We installed it towards the end. It was a bit of extra work getting it then. But, wasn’t that big of a deal.
I would think you could place it directly on the grass. But, I wouldn’t recommend it. The base of the shed it very thin and any wave in the ground would probably not allow the doors to close properly.
where did you get the rack of hooks? Can't find on Amazon or even the Suncast website... All they offer is a rack that is meant to install on a stud wall with sheetrock. I am dumbfounded... My shed did come with these.
My shed came with them. I would call them and see if they won't send it to you. As I recall the manual said if there was missing parts to contact them and not the store. Here is a link to their phone #. www.suncast.com/contactus
Very good question. I think you would be good with spray paint. But, if you wanted it to last a long time a paint supplier might be better. They may have a recommended primer and they may want to add a flex agent to the paint. If you go the spray paint route you it should last a few years.
It took a little over an hour. That included building the base. It could be done alone but it sure would be quite the handful. Thank you for the questions 84montecarlo. By the way worked at a Chevy dealership in 86 and drove a ton of 85-86 Monte Carlo SS's. They were sure fun cars.
Can not thank you enough also about the Locking bolts also. The directions were useless. When you snapped the bolt down my wife and I said OMG. Also how you snapped the door hinges in.

@@sclash78 This has been a bit. So, I can't remember any issues with it. I asked Joshua too and he didn't remember anything. Real sorry. Hopefully someone will see this question and have some help for you. Good luck and let me know what you figure out.
Hi Steven. That is a Suncast slide top. They are really really nice. Especially if you have an HOA that won't let you have a shed these are low enough to hide below the fence line and they hold quite a bit of stuff. I have 2 of those. We have had them for probably 6 years.
Step 11 is super confusing. Says to make sure the hole in the rail is on the right side...but then the screw holes don't line up with the dimples. But as far as I can tell, looking ahead, the holes in the rails don't even get used. Says to align with the "rockets"? What is it talking about, haha. Those the dimples?
@@DadsGarageDIY I followed the dimples, and it worked fine! The holes in the metal roof supports do nothing. The important thing is that the dimples get it centered! Thanks for the great video!

Great video and looking at one of these too. Best price I can find is $450 out here in Minnesota. Wondering if this would fit a snowblower? Thinking of using it for winter and summer tool storage.
Hi David. I really appreciate the kind words on the video. I hope you will subscribe. I think it would have to be a small snow blower to fit. Seems like maybe one of the slide tops would be better suited for most snow blowers. I have a couple slide tops too. Same company. I think though they are pushing the $600 range. Got them at Home Depot. If you have a snow blower and have the width and length I can go get measurements to see if it will fit. I think I said in the video but I got this at the local Sam's Club for $350. I have had some message me that where they are they are nearly $700.
Thanks for the video but I the building the base was unnecessary. I also unloaded mine opened it and discarded the box without any help. Sam's club employees loaded it for me. 😉
Don't know. I'm in Texas so typically it doesn't get that cold. We did have some cold days over the winter and it is as good as the day we assembled it. High marks for it so far.
Interesting question John. You would have to have really really level ground to do it without a base. The floor is not all that strong. Fantastic question. Hope someone else will answer.
Thanks for the reply. I have about a 6” slope so I’ll probably just go with pavers on the front to level and either go all pavers as base instead of wood or wood on top of pavers

Good morning and thanks for the question. Those came with the shed. As I look on their website they now have 2 of apparently the same model. 1 with and 1 without the tool hooks. Here is their number 1-800-846-2345. Give them a shout. I bet they are not too expensive and they usually get things out to you pretty quickly. Thanks for the question. I do hope you will helm me out my hitting that like and subscribe buttons. Thanks so much.
@@DadsGarageDIY Oh I see. I got the one without the Tool hooks and those come in handy. I will reach them when I got time. Thanks for the quick response. Have a great day out there !!!

Got this today!
Hopefully I don’t ran into issues and no leaks 🎉
No leaks for me. Hope you have the same experience.
Tim you're a genius! Thanks for sharing this.... come do mine next :)
Thanks Nate! Appreciate you buddy. Got you on the list. That list may be as long as a C8 Z06. 😂
Great watching someone teach the young ones to do stuff 👍

Great video… can a 10 speed bike fit?
Want to say thank you for your video. Honestly didn't even need to look at the instructions. May I make a HUGE suggestion. The door hinges themselves were NOT easy to understand and you flew right passed that part. If you can go back and edit it honestly BEST video assembly. Great JOB. Again I NEVER looked at the instructions with your video!
Thank you so much Michael. And very glad it was helpful. Please subscribe if you have not already. I really appreciate it.
Love the family project and it help us a lot thanks
Thanks so much Gary. Appreciate the comments. Please subscribe if you have not. Would really appreciate that.
Pardon my ignorance, but is a wooden base necessary or can we just put it right on top of grass or dirt or pavers in our yard?
Thank you so much for the kind words. From my experience I have never had any success with putting any plastic shed directly on the ground. The ground would have to be perfectly level or the doors will not close properly and/or you will get leaks. Great question. Please subscribe if you have not already. Always trying to bring good tips.

Awesome Peter. Not a very tough project. Thank you sir.
Great video! I put mine together over this past weekend and your video helped a lot. Quick question. Is the shed waterproof? We got a lot of rain here in South Florida the last couple of days and I noticed water in the front but only there. Maybe because the doors are not lined up. Did you experience any water issues? Thanks

I did the same with that roof bracket. It was not obvious how to attach like all the other pieces.

Great video. Thinking of getting this for storing my generator, could a guy drill/cut a hole through the floor so an eye bolt could go into the concrete base easily?
Sure could. It’s thin plastic. Great question. I really appreciate it Dan.
Thanks for posting this. I'm looking at this too for pool toy storage.
You're welcome! Glad it helped. Seems to be a pretty good little shed. Worth the money for sure. I appreciate the comment!
Awesome content! One question - my instructions say to use 2x6's for the base. Did yours say to use 2x4's?
Good question. I really don't remember what it said about the base. I just used what I had done in the past. I think I did this video about 2 1/2 years ago and it's still as solid as the day I built it. I have built several of these bases and I think I have always built them from 2x4's. The thing I don't like about the 2x6 other than the price is it makes the floor higher and more difficult to get things in and out. Sometimes that can be an advantage but I have found most times it's a disadvantage. Great question Patrick. You really can't go wrong either way. Hope if not subscribed you will be kind enough to do that. I appreciate you sir.
@@DadsGarageDIY awesome, that is great to hear!
Is this the 6 X 4 feet shed? Do you think it would fit three adult bicycles? Thanks for sharing.
Thank you paa, I all ready finished
Fantastic. Thank you Victor!
Not worry about getting it moved around with strong wind? Would it be better to tie it to concrete pad instead?
Great question. I am traveling at the moment but will take a look when I get back home and see if we can’t figure it out. Sorry for the delay.
@@DadsGarageDIY I wish they were hex screws. Worried about stripping it. And it's difficult getting it in lol

Thanks! Nicely done. Only problem is I cannot see what you're doing at the bottom which seems very important. The video cuts off the floor level which is where you're doing some important stuff. At any rate, it was very helpful. Thanks again.
Thank you Christy. We are getting better and working on getting better at all aspects of our production of the videos. Sorry for where we are weak and will work to get better. Glad it was helpful though.
Any chance you could provide a materials list for the platform and the size cuts made? Thanks!
It is just 2x4's but I really don't know how many feet I used. The measurements are 69.5x44.75.

Hi, planning to pick this one up at Sam's club. Do you think this will fit inside RAV4 trunk?
I don’t think it will. You would have to remove it from the box. Then it will fit.
Is the wooden base required, or can it be placed on levelled grass? Cheers
I would think you could place it directly on the grass. But, I wouldn’t recommend it. The base of the shed it very thin and any wave in the ground would probably not allow the doors to close properly.

@@Stickmanx89 thank you so much! I really appreciate that.
I am going to scuff the joints and use construction adhesive for a better bond then probably caulk the inside out side

On the doors or if you are inside the shed?
where did you get the rack of hooks? Can't find on Amazon or even the Suncast website...

If I wanted to paint what would be best to use?
Very good question. I think you would be good with spray paint. But, if you wanted it to last a long time a paint supplier might be better. They may have a recommended primer and they may want to add a flex agent to the paint. If you go the spray paint route you it should last a few years.

I think it would if you can fold the handle.
How long did this take you do you I can do alone I did load into truck alone but I see you had to hold first panel up til it leaned on other one
It took a little over an hour. That included building the base. It could be done alone but it sure would be quite the handful. Thank you for the questions 84montecarlo. By the way worked at a Chevy dealership in 86 and drove a ton of 85-86 Monte Carlo SS's. They were sure fun cars.

What is the storage unit next to the shed thanks .Nice video .
As I recall, yes the little dimples. Sorry, it's been a few months. There were a few wonky things in the instructions for sure.

Don't know. I'm in Texas so typically it doesn't get that cold. We did have some cold days over the winter and it is as good as the day we assembled it. High marks for it so far.
Anyone try this without making the base?
Interesting question John. You would have to have really really level ground to do it without a base. The floor is not all that strong. Fantastic question. Hope someone else will answer.
Thanks for the reply. I have about a 6” slope so I’ll probably just go with pavers on the front to level and either go all pavers as base instead of wood or wood on top of pavers
