hi, its posible cast a long distance with bfs reels with lures like 15 to 20 grams? or beter low profile¿ for the weith from the reel i think is better.
You start running the risk of spooling yourself - typically you only load 40-50 yards on a reel. Witht those weights, why not just use a lighter conventional reel? Maybe a Tatula or a Metanium MGL? Any of the Daiwa Alphas SV line... But, I have thrown up to about 17 grams on the Aldebaran and a few others (whopper plopper 75 / 90). Many of the CDM reels seem to get stressed under than load and spool speed, and the lightest reels probably shouldn't be pushed over 10-12 gram lures.
I've since learned the ARK doesn't have a drag clicker, but the Haibo Arise Air does - so I'll end up with the Haibo version most likely. And of course a handful of the Kistlers. ;P
@@freerangechicken3922 Yes indeed. I'm just south of Pittsburgh. I need to hit the Upper Allegheny at least this year. But haven't done much around Butler.
I was wondering if you heard of the piscifun phantom s I have one but nobody ever talks about it it's not even on their website it's on the lower end of BFS the s stands for shadow
I haven't. they recently reached out to me with a generic inquiry, and I replied back about being BFS oriented, so maybe they're thinking of something?
@@joelunder7479 Thanks! Unboxing this week, and then obviously the review will be a while longer - but I'll be fishing it this week, so it will be in some upcoming vids.
The inteeview with the Ark giy lead me to nelieve it was an original design. Now thay youve made me aware its the aame s the Haibo I have lost inyerest in potentially getting the Ark
Yeah, not sure the full details. the weird thing is the Haibo has the drag clicker and the Ark doesn't. There's been all kinds of odd news around that one.
That would be awesome. the new Ifishband Tendershoot is launching too - just learned today that Bait Finesse Empire will have them in limited quantities in the US too. So that and the conquest are about the only round ones I know of. But a Retro-inspired Abu round BFS reel - kind of like what car manufactures do - would be incredible.
@@AaronHuntFishing yea the 1500c and 2500v Abus with full avail BFS mods are super expensive. A fellow Aussie did it for around $2000 AUD which is prob over 1300 USD
@@AaronHuntFishing there is definitely a market for reels in that price band. Must be exciting to be involved, especially just as BFS is taking off in the US.
Unfortunately, with regard to ABUs new BFS reel, you got everything wrong. You compared the wrong model. Instead of comparing to the currently available ABU Zenon LTX (which is not intended for pure BFS purposes) you need to compare towards the upcoming ABU Zenon MG LTX BFS (actually not available). So your price related comparison between ABU Revo ALC BF7 and ABU Zenon LTX is misleading and wrong. Maybe you should consider correcting this part of your video!
Nope - I compared it to the Zenon LTX BFS. Nobody is saying this is a new reel, not even Abu NA employees. They are simply saying it is new to the NA market and new to ICAST. The reel is available in Japan since 2022, not the USA. As far as misleading price info, I just saw the Zenon LTX Bait Finesse in Japan for $199, so maybe I was a little too high if anything. :P If I happen to be wrong (because everyone else including Abu Garcia employees are wrong), I'll correct it - but your comment so far is the only one that states this opinion. No other discussions have indicated this is an amazing new reel. Even the specs are identical to the 2022 JDM Zenon BFS.
@@AaronHuntFishing so it seems that even the NA ABU guys don‘t know the ABU line up. Currently, there‘s no LTX BFS model existing. It‘s an ABU Zenon LTX which has surprisingly good BFS capabilities but isn‘t BFS. Otherwise such a huge price difference between the current existing LTX and the upcoming MG LTX BFS wouldn‘t make any sense from a sales perspective….
I just Got the Haibo arise Air and it is working great with the Marvelos Plume rod. 219 grams ready to fish combo. 😊
Good to hear. That one probably won't arrive for me until the fall. Gotta work through the other stuff first!

@@JoshB-Fishin Agreed - one of my favorite features on BFS reels!
The Kingfisher is definitely interesting to me
I've been eyeing that one for a while - thrilled to be getting it this week. Hadn't planned on it until fall.

Hi Aaron I am from Pennsylvania originally also moved to Vegas
I'm sorry. On both accounts! Seriously though, hope you're enjoying Vegas. Appreciate the extra comment for algo juice too! 😉
Do you know where Butler Pennsylvania is that is where I'm originally from great fishing up there try it out

also looking forward to your review of the reel@@AaronHuntFishing

How much will the Kistler be going for?
Not 100% known yet because the design isn't locked down. I can definitely say under $300, maybe $250 range?
I hope Abu is secretely doing a round BFS reel

Love the look of that Kistler. Decent brake dial. Shimano really need to up their game.
The brake adjustments are easy to do but don't get bumped. Been doing some fine tuning of them.
