That’s because most of the celebrities featured here are mixed race. When I went to the Philippines, majority of the people looked like a typical Southeast Asian - Thai, Malaysian, Indonesian. A few looked like they had black or Indian ancestry and there were some that looked East Asian but most looked like their neighboring countries in Southeast Asia and that’s to be expected.

We don't have the "typical East Asian look" because we're not in East Asia, lol. Most us look like South East Asians, where we're in. That means we have bigger eyes and darker skin, then we have people who look like East Asians, and some of us can look MiddleEastern or African or European, depending on our individual DNA. Why that happened? It's about our history and access to other parts of the world. They do not. This is not to say that there are no natives who are beautiful, but most celebrities do not represent true Filipina beauty. Most of them have mixed blood which is not bad but is not representative of what a native Filipina looks like. Though, given our colonial history, it is difficult to find a pure blood Filipina.
Before you malign others, maybe you can elaborate what you mean or speak better English. What has been disproven many times? The fact that many of our celebrities are not pure-bred Filipina? Alat means salty in Tagalog so I am obviously not a foreigner. If you look at the last names of the cited celebrities, they have non-Filipino native last names e.g., Heusoff, Lustre, Soberano. It’s common knowledge that one of their parents is a foreigner at least by race and not by citizenship. Heck some of them even speak better English than Tagalog. For example, Liza can’t even speak a sentence in straight Tagalog even if her life depends on it. Geez. Again, nothing wrong with that but they do not represent what a pure Filipina beauty is. They do not. This is not to say that there are no natives who are beautiful, but most celebrities do not represent true Filipina beauty. Most of them have mixed blood which is not bad but is not representative of what a native Filipina looks like. Though, given our colonial history, it is difficult to find a pure blood Filipina.

Before you malign others, maybe you can elaborate what you mean or speak better English. What has been disproven many times? The fact that many of our celebrities are not pure-bred Filipina? Alat means salty in Tagalog so I am obviously not a foreigner.
If you look at the last names of the cited celebrities, they have non-Filipino native last names e.g., Heusoff, Lustre, Soberano. It’s common knowledge that one of their parents is a foreigner at least by race and not by citizenship. Heck some of them even speak better English than Tagalog. For example, Liza can’t even speak a sentence in straight Tagalog even if her life depends on it. Geez. Again, nothing wrong with that but they do not represent what a pure Filipina beauty is. Though given our colonial history, as I’ve said, it is difficult now to envision, let alone state, what a true Filipina beauty encapsulates. In my mind, however, a true Filipina beauty at least should be morena in complexion (brownish color), flat nose, jet-black hair but to each his or her own.

The Filipinos you've seen today is not really how the Filipino looks like. Spain colonized Philippines for 333 years so what do you expect. My father side is half Spanish and my mother side is mostly half Spanish too. Now someone told me I looked like a Latina 😅 Gladly, there were still native Filipinos left. ❤
