- There are many secret rooms and things we don’t know about in pretty much every government building there ever was, but there are a great deal of things we didn’t know about one of the most important buildings in the United States. We certainly didn’t know these things before now but that’s why these are Hidden Secrets Inside The White House The Public Doesn’t Know About.

#4 - The Pres And First Lady Had Code Words For Personal Time
Although they don’t appear to really be enjoying each other’s company in this image, the current President and First Lady do like to spend some alone time together. Because they are who they are, Potus and Flotus, they are surrounded by security detail every step they take. Getting any sort of alone time seems like it would be really hard to come by seeing that they are always being watched like a hawk. So, to combat these issues, the President and his wife go about their business and the Secret Service issues a special code. In these engagements, the President is referred to as “Renegade” while the First Lady is given the codename “Renaissance.” The words “quality time” is then termed “discussing the Bosnian problem.” Although we can’t see the problem here. The full-on version for Potus and Flotus to steal away and act like teenagers is “Renegade can’t be disturbed now. He and Renaissance are discussing the Bosnian problem.” Gross.
#3 - The White House Has Literally Been A Zoo
No, we aren’t making jokes about the people here, we are actually talking about animals and man, have there been a lot living at the White House throughout the course of each presidency. We aren’t going to mention any of the normal house pets like dogs or cats, because there would simply be too many of them. Back in the day, Thomas Jefferson has a mockingbird that flew around the house, Theodore Roosevelt’s daughter, Emily, had a pet snake. John Quincy Adams had an alligator that lived in the bathroom while the two alligators Herbert Hoover’s sons had roamed around the yard. Out of all of the Presidents, however, the one who had the strangest and most exotic pets was Calvin Coolidge and his wife Grace. Here she can be seen holding a raccoon but they have had a bear cub, a bobcat, two lions, a wallaby, and a pygmy hippo as pets at the White House.
#2 - The Oldest Painting Was Almost Destroyed
Pictured here is the oldest painting in the entire building, George Washington’s portrait by Gilbert Stuart. The portrait hangs in the East Room, the place where the President holds meetings with the most prominent people in the world, but it wouldn’t have made it here today if not for Dolley Madison. In the War of 1812, British troops came and torched the White House, the former first lady, clearly thinking quickly, cut out the painting from the frame before she rolled it up and took it with her for safekeeping. It has since been reframed and it looks as good as new, thanks to her. The only sad part about her daring rescue is that the original painting that was there was only a copy itself. The copier had even misspelled the words “United States” so that it read “United Sates.”
#1 - There Is A Shopping Center Under The White House
This is certainly not something we knew but it really is a hidden secret the public isn’t supposed to know about. Although you see the President and his staff shopping while abroad, you don’t ever see him or his family dash into a mall, stateside, to shop. The reason for that is simply they don’t go because they don’t have to, and we aren’t just talking about the current Potus and Flotus. Although they could have each had their own shopping mall BEFORE Trump became President, they don’t have to waste time now, because they live on top of one. Apparently, underneath the White House is a mall of sorts. Not only does it have some of the best clothing in the world, some of which you can see on the racks in this picture, but there are also services such as a florist, a carpenter, and even a dentist. - Развлечения
That moment when you know so little about history that you show a picture of FDR while talking about Teddy.
You were a great president
What's up Honest Abe!
Abraham Lincoln you are dead lol jk you are not the real Abe licoln
Chris Smith duh durrr💀
GamerTrend 17 it was a joke dang
1:36 "The job changes every four to SIX years?" Usually, it's four to eight years.
dpm1982 They’re talking about the employees of the white house not the president
Not all staff positions change even that frequently!!
dpm1982 I mean wut if the president randomly dies
Dakoda Fisher was just telling them that it could be six years because someone could get killed 6 years as president
Dakoda Fisher I mean it is a while but not that long
They're so secret we are going to tell you all about them!
I died when you showed a pic of fdr instead of Theodore
They're not secret if you know about them.
CHGamer exactly
That's what I said why let us know why not take down the video
CHGamer There was a double DONG !! FOUND in Mikie& Obomination's Playroom😲😅😂!!!!
CHGamer preach

Girl, I'm'a need y'all to get it together. Theodore Roosevelt built the west wing, not Franklin.
Brock Smith Exactly!
Indeed
ANT BANKS He knows Theodore didn’t build it. He is saying that he CREATED THE IDEA OF THE WEST-WING AND PUT IT INTO ACTION. Dig deep into your common sense
ANT BANKS No one said they thought they knew anything.... and even if he did say that, what does that have to do with history. It know U.S.history, and I love history and geography. Soi did dig deeper.
ANT BANKS Is m talking about your response, “,he said what he thought he knew, dig deeper into history”. That makes no sense. And he didn’t say he thought eh knew anything
"...Changes every four or six years. " Someone failed high-school civics.
They aren’t talking about the president
Secrets the public doesn't know...now we know! 😄 I was expecting hidden rooms, walls that open, underground tunnels, but that type of stuff should remain undisclosed for our President's safety.
And Obama put his feet up on the desk in the oval office. Nice.

As part of a huge hotel we use to change over a ballroom that was set for dinner for up to 500 to a dancing space w seating areas, four bars, and stage for a band in under 45 mins. The staff was less than 20 ppl.
You left one item out.
There are object scattered around the building that if moved set off alarms and the building is “crashed”. POTUS, FLOTUS or anyone who knows them can call for help without anyone realizing what just happened.
These aren’t secrets these are on page 2 of my US History Textbook.
Getting your Roosevelt’s mixed up there.
There had to have been a mistake. Franklin D. Roosevelt was president from 1933 to 1945, during which the West Wing was supposedly built. However, how could the idea first be proposed at that time, but somehow was liked by William Howard Taft back in 1909? They must've got the two Roosevelts mixed up.
It was Theodore Roosevelt who had the idea of the west wing.
Bro I thought I was gonna see secret doors and contraptions
Yes it was definitely disappointing..
Hearing „Presidential transition is a huge deal“ in November 2020 🤦🏻
Trump was robbed. Rigged
@Robert Murrell was that supposed to be funny?
@Robert Murrell your ignorance? U vote for a side based off ur emotions and not facts. Stay woke
Verified Mamba Trump was robbed ? the election was rigged ?with all of that proof all of those witnesses with thier sworn affidavits and those countries involved Cuba, Venezuela, China: even a dead man’s testimony Hugo Chavez.. The lawyers involved should have their license revoked for creating the craziest conspiracy theories ever.. Right they did fire one of them the mastermind behind the conspiracy because they thought even she was too crazy for the job. Where not one court or judge will listen to the complaint.. The only place where Trump lost the election was on social media. As far as the courts are concerned he did not win the election.
How does the "public" not know as clearly you do and sharing it with the PUBLIC?????
Four or six years? How about 4 or 8!
No, it's the staff (not cabinet or such, but cooks, maids, etc) who last 4 to 6 years, and may not last that long.
That gave me pause too! We all do know it is four to eight yrs depending....
“United Sates” my man who copied that painting pulled off the greatest most historical troll in the history of man.
Those clothes hanging in the "store" look like they're from the 70s and second hand marked down at that.
Melania and Ivanka's future wardrobe, or maybe just the ORANGE items.
Vox Veritas lol 😂 I giggled 🤭 out loud!
At least the misspelling wasn’t “Untied States”.
that is probably more accurate.
8:07 Theodore Roosevelt didn't have a daughter named Emily. Did they mean Ethel? Her snake was named Emily.
Alice's garter snake was named Emily Spinach "because it was as green as spinach and as thin as my Aunt Emily."
EVERY 4 TO 8 YEARS. YOU CAN NOT POSSIBLY BE AN AMERICAN.
She meant the staff
@@charesemunoz1642 No, the permanent staff almost never changes.
@@robertbowley1589 Yes, I do believe that is correct... plus it just makes sense.
@@faithrada no the staff never changes every 4 to 8 years they stay until retired or fired or new one comes in once they leave
She said “every four or six” anyway. Fucking creepy realization somebody’s studying you and testing what they’ve learned for the authenticity standard of an assumed identity, and through a paid medium. Potential applications are pretty narrow and specific🖕🏼 Bitch has the accent down in a weirdly generic way
Flouts doesn’t want Potus because he’s orange and blotus.
Potus needs Flotus so she can remind him where he's at.
Ah yes, the White House being a museum is a well kept secret.
You showed a picture of the wrong Roosevelt. You showed a picture of franklin roosevelt who was president from 1933 to 1945. Was president 20 years after president Taft left office. The president you were referring to was president Theodore Roosevelt who was president from 1901 to 1909
Sean Verhoeff Right? That bugged me too.
I caught that right away. No wonder our children have such a poor grasp on history. It isn't being told to them correctly.
Thank you! This gets a thumbs down just because they cannot do simple fact checking!
#11: The job changes every four OR SIX years. Must that New Math. Pathetic.
Gotta love this intro “here are things the public doesn’t know because the public doesn’t know them.”🙄🙄🙄
so.... when a president is gone and most of the furniture and decorations are "re-done", that's a secret?
Jobs at the White House isn’t classified or “word of mouth”. You go to USAjobs.gov, which is the official federal government jobs website and key in White House. That’s where you find White House jobs. It’s not going to be listed in the Classified section of a newspaper or Craigslist. The reason why I know is because I applied for a White House job about 2 years ago. I found it with no problem.
Ahhhh.. But ya didnt tell us why you didnt get the job tho... -:)
For one, the posting that I applied for was up for a month and I think by then, someone took it already. They have to keep the posting up for a certain amount of time even if it’s filled
#8 Incorrect Pic. Showed FDR - should be a pic of Teddy Roosevelt.
Good, I wasn't the only one who noticed. I was slightly confused when they said Taft came after him (FDR)
I can't believe more people haven't noticed.
😝
I was afraid I was the only one who noticed this error. Thank goodness I wasn't.
Iamlisaspeed I just saw the video, and also noticed they showed the image of the wrong Roosevelt...
Changes every 4 or 6 years? What did I miss?
Only thing that shocked me here was the mall under the white house😂
OMG! Theodore Roosevelt's daughter's name was Alice, not Emily. Incompetent .
Or Daughter Ethel.
No Emily
How does that make sense? President FDR added the west wing and Taft, a president before his time liked the idea and kept It? Did he time travel or am I just not hearing that right?
THEODORE Roosevelt added the west wing. While discussing THEODORE's addition, video shows photo of later president FRANKLIN Roosevelt aka FDR. Photo needs to be removed and replaced.
GamerOfTheNorth nice they don't seem to know that there were TWO Roosevelt presidents, teddy was the one who added the WW
They showed the pictures for FDR but they meant theodore
I'm Canadian and even I knew that was incorrect lol
GamerOfTheNorth mistake
I really and truly enjoyed this video. I could never get into History in high school and now, I can get enough of it. Very intriguing. I hope to one day visit the Whitehouse with the my two grandsons. That’s my dream and theirs...

Hello Friend how are you doing today
WH Taft was the president way before Roosevelt.
Thank you so much. Video tours are the only tours that I can take. This one is even more special to me because I didn't think that I would ever get to see the outside of the White House, much less the inside.
It’s remarkably easy to see the outside of the White House. It’s not hidden
While Dolly Madison was busy directing a handful of servants in saving the portrait and copies of the Constitution and Declaration, among other irreplaceable treasures, since most VIP's, including the Cabinet, had fled, guess where her husband, the President, was?
Little James, who today might be called a geek, was out in the field with the troops covering the city. Was he directing them, as Commander in Chief? No, he was not. When the Major said he only needed intelligence of British movements, President Madison volunteered to ride out as the scout for the Army of Washington DC. He was in civilian clothes and could have been killed, but his country was under attack. He had no cabinet or Congress to supervise, and his wife was saving the artifacts, so he chose to help in the most useful way. That is a true leader!
Best " S T O R Y " ever made by teller.
Yah! Dolly, we love you!
She helped Angelical Van Buren (her cousin on her mom's side) to get started as the First lady. ( Angelica was Pres VanBuren's eldest son's * Abraham's^ wife. As the President's wife has passed, he asked Angelica to fill in. Dolly lived nearby yet and she was related to Angelica and they both had family in the south, they worked a little bit together. That is actually how Angelica and Abraham met. Dolly introduced them! Dolly did not have an easy life though in her later years. It is very sad as she was a very good person.
Also, the 1st family also has their own kitchen for family dinning. Anything that is cooked via the WH chef, they too have to pay for. In fact, most first families get shocked when they get the bill at the end of the month.
considering POTUS makes $400k+ a year net that shouldn't be too much of a struggle
Guess the public knows now you amazing secret keepers!
Very interesting thank you, really enjoyed this
Never heard about the shopping mall. Why did Michelle go shopping at Target?
If the public isn't supposed to know about the secret shopping mall, then how did you know about it in the first place?
The secret service told him...😄😄😄
The secret is one of the presidents was a kleptomaniac. The taxpayer's money was used to build it so this president would not embarrass the government spending a night in jail if he got caught.
*....@ **9:18** So where is the Original Painting of George Washington if this is Only A Copy...?*
Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th President from 1901 to 1909. William Howard Taft was the 27th president of the United States (1909-1913) and the tenth chief justice of the United States (1921-1930) Franklin Delano Roosevelt served as the 32nd president of the United States from 1933 until his death in 1945. The White House Basement is located under the North Portico and contains, among other areas, the Carpenters' Shop, Engineers' Shop, Flower Shop, Chocolate Shop, Cold Storage, Paint Shop, Grounds Office, and Housekeeping Office, and Laundry. It also contains Richard Nixon's Bowling Alley.
Uau! The shopping mall was amazing. Didn't know that.
"The job changes every 4 or 6? years."
That's 4 or 8 years, as far as I know, unless something has drastically changed when I wasn't paying attention.
I think she was talking about the employees?
Everyon knows about the painting almost being burned I learned about it like a month ago
Thank you for the Great video
Me: *sees a portrait of George Washington*
Also me: *starts rapping Hamilton at rapid pase*
I would love to see furniture that Washington or other presidents had ..
That was burned in the war of 1812. The only thing that still exists are stuff from J. Adams time, Washington did not live in the White House. His portrait is one of the things that still exists since before 1812.
You showed the wrong Roosevelt. It was Teddy, not Franklin who had the West Wing built.
Did you get Taft and FDR mixed up ? Did Taft or FDR build the executive office building ?
5:23 Should be YOU’LL BE BACK. Haha any HAMILFANS out there?
3:55 there goes Frank, stealing Teddy's thunder. Ya'll should consider employing a historian.
Frankie ... Teddy ... watsa dif?
Clark Beliveau a lot
Maybe consider buying a history book.
Just to set the record straight, President Roosevelt spent more than a few years years in the White House as the narrator stated. In fact he was the longest sitting president to occupy the White House. FDR lived in the White House from 1933 to 1945.
They meant Teddy, used the wrong pic.
was it because of WW2?
@@blakeduque6724 you’re asking if he was in the White House that long bc of WW2? Pretty much. By the end of his second term, the war had broke out in Europe. FDR broke tradition and ran for a third term insisting to help the country stay out of the war. Plus it seems like a good idea to not switch to a new administration that knows nothing yet at such a volatile time. So he ran and won, easily. There was no law against running again at that point. It was only a tradition to do 2 max.
@@IJustFiguredThisOut Thank you for the explanation

Franklin Roosevelt served from 1933 to 1945. If he had the West Wing built and Taft liked it so much in 1909 then Roosevelt must have had it built at least 24 years before he became president. You are right. That would be something I did not know.
So How did u know? And where do they take all the old stuff to?

The "proposal" design shown at 4:33 is the current layout. There was no Press Room in the early days, the press hung out in the lobby. Nixon was mad at the media so he had the indoor swimming pool covered over and made into the Press Briefing Room shown in this diagram.

The incoming Presidential Family decorates the Whitehouse according to their tastes not some arbitrary decorator. So, it would be a waste of time for them to do that. And, I doubt very much if 6 hours was all the time used to move out, but even so, the Whitehouse decor is purchased with taxpayer money and does not belong to the outgoing family. They may have personal items that need to be moved but that is it.
True! Every incoming president is alloted money to redecorate the living apartment according to their tastes. If decor is bought by the president, then it goes out with him and his family. And probably this happens. I do believe the move is done quickly these days. I think parts of it start the night before (or days before if the items are not needed) and then the big move is done in the day. But with lots of movers, that should not be a problem. And you know the gov't gets lots of packers/movers to make it happen. Magic!
