  • This video dives into a common issue with RockShox Charger 2.1 dampers: slow oil leak from the compression adjusters. This issue is not addressed properly by the manufacturer, so various people have come up with various solutions. This video shows one of those.

i think you cannot hammer the pins out, because you need to remove the low speed compression adjuster (minute 17) BEFORE the pins can be removed.

Great video- i looked on your MTB hydraulics site and did not see the 3 seal kit? Having problems finding the right sizes (i was told 3mm thick x 7mm ID and 2mm thick x 1.5mm ID- for the RC2 2.1). Any help appreciated! thanks !

Hi Simon, thanks for making this vidéo, i encountered this issue a few times and i ended up doing the same drilling procedure, instead of the spoke dowel I drill wider to tap and install a dog point set screw but a small misallignment can cause the HSC ajuster to get rough and snap the inner black part. Such a pain.

Yes, I think I mention a similar method in the video. They are both a pain to implement in practice. I don't use a set screw because that way your rely fully on the threadlock for it to stay in place. Though it looks better.... I made this post in the past: instagram.com/p/Cb6KnVFp3l-/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Hello Simon, thanks for the video. Do you mind sharing the size of the two o-rings. I have the same issue with my fork and already disassembled the damper unit and try to find out the corect o-ring size now. Thanks in advance.

It depends on the exact iteration of the damper you have. You can just measure the diameter of the parts to size the replacement for the u-cup.
