      @@AcradusAnd yet they were still able to drop points on the saints in more hostile conditions. Also what about the chiefs?? Best offense in the NFL held to 0 points for a half, that's insane. I saw them making plays every snap, watch the tape and you'll see how bad they man handled offensive lines.

Patriots's defense were well prepared and well coached for the superbowl compared to a high power Rams's offense who completely played like garbage. Goff was abused by the New England's defense like how a lion chased down a gazelle.

    You can see how different the rams offense is when they dont get gurley his touches. Goff is competent but he isnt polished enough to drop back play after play and pick apart a defense. New england’s defensive gameplan was solid though

      he ain't competent after that superbowl performance he put up. He doesn't even call an audible if he sees something he doesn't like before snapping the ball. Goff is most effective as a playaction fake it to the RB and throw. The Patriots's defense eliminated their playaction pass and abused Goff throughout the whole game. You're right though. He ain't at that level where he could drop back and throw the ball to pick apart a defense. McVay is the true offensive playmaker for the Rams. Goff is his puppet.

      Both defense were good, Brady did slightly more and thats how he won. Its pure simple.
      Its the same game dallas vs saints. Which ever qb can do slightly better has the edge to win it.

      Im gonna take a guess and say you're a Saints fan. Im sorry but yes that PI call was bs and its not 100% that that they would have won if the call was made anyways.You cannot takeaway from that Rams offense putting up points despite the noise...Better team won that day. Now the Superbowl Rans offense was a complete other thing than it was in the NFC champ and you would be right saying that it played like garbage because they simply werent prepared for the flawless Pats defense that night.

      The Saints should not have gave up a 13-0 lead at home. Sean Payton should've just ran the ball amd let the Rams use up all they're timeouts. The Saints defense should've never allowed Jared Goff and the Rams offense get in field goal range. Drew Brees shouldn't have throw an interception when he had the ball first in overtime....but the Rams didnt deserve to be there? Sounds like the Saints didn't deserve to be there.

    Brian Flores’ role in the Pats defensive game plan has been criminally undervalued in sports media. He was primarily responsible for their defensive scheme. Honestly both defenses played their guts out and Wade Phillips was the only reason the Rams didn’t get blown out.

      Goff wasn't great, but I think more blame lies on the O-line. Goff was pressured on EVERY SINGLE PLAY - no QB, no matter how good, will play well like that. Give credit to Belichick, he switched blitzes on almost every play and the O-Line couldn't comfortable. Belichick coached a masterpiece

      @@TheRabidbunniesGoff didnt play great?. You can make a case that no other QB has ever looked worse in the SB.. He had receivers open throughout the game. He either didnt see them or flat out missed them.. His mechanics was bad his throws was off he wasnt going through his progressions and on top of that he looked scared out of his mind. Yes give coach bill credit but you could watch that game for 5 mins and see Goff wasn't ready. It was to much for him. Coach Mcvay deserves some of the blame also for not making adjustments to help him out. We'll see if they can bounce back next year.

      gdc615 the line didn't protect him. But Elway struggled a lot worst. Even in some of the Broncos victories. Elway has the lowest QB rating in super bowl history or one of them at least.. at the time he was young just like Goff

    Good to see Eric again. Lots of people forget that Belichick was the architect of those great NYG's defenses with LT and friends. He knows how to defense and it sure showed up in that Super Bowl. Poor Rams never looked in synchronization.

      Codename Centaur Brady didn’t put up 13 pts. The touchdown cane from Sony Michel and the 7 pts came from the kicker 1 PAT and 2 field goals. Brady only had a pick and 260 yards credit to Edelman for RAC.

    Another thing...the pats ran a 4-3 scheme just for this game... And played more zone ..while beening a man coverage team all year...everyone knows the pats play a hybrid 34/43 ... Which make it hard to make adjustments to their defense..

    I was a Rams fan from Roman Gabriel and the Fearsome Foursome until they moved to St Louis, became a Pats fan in 1994. Never looked back. I have lived in the CT River valley area 90% of my life , Hartford and Springfield area. Remember Eric, Jackie Slater' s son is a Patriot. Still something to be happy about 👍

      Thaddeus Robinson - He repeated the fake story of the taped walk-thru and said they got cheated last time and this team was going to avenge that loss. We said a lot before the Super Bowl. More than most reasonable fan or analyst would say about their opponents.

I suppose you think the Patriots defense won the first three super bowls when Tom Brady threw for 350 yards and three touchdowns in super bowl 38 and the defense gave up 29 points to the Panthers plus Adam vinatieri missed two field goals in super bowl 38

    Been saying it before the playoffs started (go back and read my comments). Pats have arguably the most dominant secondary in the league. Front 7 gets so much pressure, even though the season sack numbers weren't impressive. Offensive line is elite.
    Players were just too dominant, coaching was great, but you can't do what they did without great players.

    Kupp was hurt, Gurley wasn't 100% and Goff is overrated..
    He coached Cook and knows his strengths and weaknesses..

      Tony Engardio Did you not see Gilmore on the chase downs and on the defensed passes? Jared Goff barely had any time to breathe in the pocket because the receivers were shut down and the offensive line couldn’t block. That’s the defense.

    Skip needs to shut up. Belichick held a 33 point average team to a field goal. Tom Brady made ONE semi-decent touchdown drive, and when both offenses were that pathetic, that was enough to win. That's why Brady isn't the MVP of the super bowl or the league.

      @@emceesmith6665 Every victory requires a team effort. All 45 guys contributed to that win. It wasn't Brady's best game but it was the 9th Super Bowl in which he led a go ahead drive in the 4thQ - when the pressure is highest.

    Credit to Josh McDaniels on the drive that Brady completed four passes on as well. It wasn’t all “Brady being Brady” McDaniels completely changed the scheme and went jumbo and it worked for them. Tom Brady closes it out, but switching it up worked in his favor and his defense allowed him the opportunity to win the game by holding the rams all game long. Great win, great super bowl.

    New England will be in a superbowl final again before Brady and Bill retires. They just want more and more. Bill is 66, another 4 years. Brady is 41, another 2 or 3 years. New England defo is another show piece final but whether they win or not depends which New England turns up for the final as they are known for their slow starts
