The IRS Fresh Start Program 2023 is a lie! There is no such thing! While yes, there is a legitimate Fresh Start Program by the IRS, there is no "new" Fresh Start Program for 2023! The IRS Fresh Start Initiative was actually just some changes the IRS made about 10 years ago to its policies and procedures regarding collections and tax resolution.

I almost signed up just now..he asked for a $500 retainer I said I couldn’t afford that right now ..he said he could lower it as a hardship for me to $375. 🤔

I paid the $295.00 to start the process, I thought about it a little longer and canceled less than 24 hours, crooks.
I work for the biggest tax relief firm out there. You know who we are. I'd be fired on the spot if I guaranteed any end result just based off a simple conversation with a tax payer. Tax rise and these other companies are screwing people and its gross. To those who are watching, if anyone ever tells you that you qualify for this or that without any actual substantiation of your income, expenses, or asset value, run for the hills.

I gotta admit, it is a catchy phrase, so I don't have any problem with these companies using "Fresh Start" in their advertising...but when they flat out LIE and state that, "The IRS just announced the 2023 Fresh Start Program"...that's when I feel compelled to call out the B.S.

They're overly aggressive marketing, in my opinion. There is no "new" Fresh Start Program. There *is* the same old offer in compromise program, which the actual Fresh Start Program made it easier to qualify for - over ten years ago!
All true. None of these programs work, especially Optima. After a few thousand dollars and months of them giving me the run around, they did nothing to improve my situation. The tax attorney that was supposed to be on my team was never available to answer my questions. 😡
Sorry to hear about your experience with Optima. The whole “tax attorney” line is often just a sales and marketing shtick at these shops.

Understand this fact of LAW. TAXABLE YEARS ENDED AUGUST 16 1954!! Google 26 CFR 1.0-1 paragraph (d), the IRC of 1954 paragraph (d) clearly says TAXABLE YEARS Began December 31 1954 AND ENDED.... AND ENDED.... AND ENDED AUGUST 16 1954 passed into LAW by the 83rd Congress AS LAW and recorded AS LAW published as VOLUME 68A of the United States Statutes at Large and Federal Register. Any Subtitle F compliant enforcement provisions took place the day AFTER the date of ENACTMENT AUGUST 17 1954 but on that day there was NO TAX TO ENFORCE AS the tax died expired the day before August 16 1954.....there has NOT BEEN AN ENFORCEABLE LEGAL INCOME TAX for 70 YEARS!!!!!

What is YOUR interpretation. We recently had several years of back taxes, interest and penalties dismissed by the U.S. by asserting the fact that Taxable years ended by law and the IRS had no standing, merit, authority or jurisdiction to attempt to extort money with regard to a "tax" that doesn't exist and hasn't for 70 years!
The IRS operates on PRIMA FACIA....Color of Law but Title 26 has NEVER been enacted as POSITIVE LAW and according to the Federal Reserve Title 26 can be rebutted/ refuted by any prior UNREPEALED ACTS OF CONGRESS at VARIENCE with the Code which basically is 26 CFR 1.0-1 paragraph (d) ,etc. That's how we won the summary judgement against the IRS. We are now going after the IRS for monetary actual and Civil damages AND will prevail.
@@dennishipsley8703 The full sentence states, "In general, the provisions of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 are applicable with respect to taxable years beginning after December 31, 1953, and ending after August 16, 1954."
This sentence is merely describing the taxable years to which the IRC of 1954 applies to, i.e. those with an end date of August 17, 1954, or later.
