the landfills are full- it takes a while to get what is dropped off- all sorted out and dispersed to other sites- the line to get into the landfill is over a mile long
Exactly, people think this is the cartoons where stuff just magically disappears overnight into a black hole. And those adult rats you're seeing weren't conceived 4 weeks ago. But brace yourselves, cause 2 months from now, there will be a population explosion.
@ snakes! just saw a small one outside my balcony yesterday. im afraid to walk by in the dark at night , alongside a debris pile , between the lawn qnd the tree debris, i could accidentally get bit by a snake
Gotta say, looking at all the high price cars shown…why dont they rent a couple trucks, get out of their monogrammed clothes and start removing it themselves or PAY to get the debris removed rather than complaining why someone else hasn’t done it!?!
Pinellas has always been badly infested with rats. This guy in the interview has no idea what he's talking about, talks like he's from NJ. The rats were always there, they're just more active now because there's literally piles of trash all over the place and a lot of people left the neighborhood. They don't feel as threatened with there being a lot less people around now and more places to hide and nest in. Nevermind Welch or waiting for someone else to come do it. If that was my property I would clean it up and haul it myself, I'm not disabled. It just seems like some laziness and entitlement going on. Are property owners not responsible for their own junk piles?
We gave up waiting for the city of Tampa to pick up our debris and had a rollback dumpster brought to our house. Also the dried out tree trimmings are a fire hazard
WTF? First? This isn't about getting stuff picked up first. It's about getting it picked up at all. Three goddamn weeks, going Into the 4th, and shit is still everywhere. Have you been asleep?
Pinellas always had rats, the piles just exasperated it. The mountains can't get relief, attitude is, oh Florida is used to this, yeah, no not in St. Petersburg. It's a dang shame. I lived there 35 years. Glad I left. The city government screws the residents, and not in the pleasurable way!😢
How is it legal to dump all your debris and trash outside along the street and just leave it for weeks, these people should be fined $1,000 a day for this. There should be scheduled pickups and it should be placed outside the day before pickup. Do better Florida
Where is the Florida State Guard? Ronnie budgeted over 19 million dollars in July for his little army and they are nowhere in site. The last press release sent out about their participation was Oct 13th. He didn't hesitate to send them to Texas to help them violate SCOTUS' order to stop building their deadly barbed wire border in the river. He never met a law he wouldn't violate if it suited his agenda but where the hell is he when Floridians need help.
rats attract snakes which attract snakes that eat snakes that attract snake predators that attract looney humans looking for pythons, cobras, tengu, and nile crocodiles.
Oh, rats! Didn't have them before? They just magically appeared, getting blown in by the hurricane? You had them before. They just made new nests.
Piles in Clearwater, Largo, everywhere ! Not just St. Pete !
Tampa,too. It’s terrible!
How about Dunedin?
Yeah, what about Dunedin?

What? Why are you coping? Are you upset about something? Maybe getting caught breaking the law? Being held accountable for once in your life?

Obviously when they stripped out their houses the rats had to find a new place to live.

ÓK, so how quickly do you want them picked up while still refusing any tax increases to pay for it?

Ron DeSatan should ban rats.
It seems people who want their stuff cleaned up first cry the loudest to the media.
WTF? First? This isn't about getting stuff picked up first. It's about getting it picked up at all.
Three goddamn weeks, going Into the 4th, and shit is still everywhere. Have you been asleep?
The two-legged rats are the worse.
They move down here daily 😮
In FL too -- haven't seen rats, but our debris pile has been out since the day after the storm,

Tell New York the rats are squirrels and raccoons.
New York will send swat teams after them.

What does the Florida State Guard have to do with trash collection?
@SL-wb8jl one of the alleged purposes of the State Guard is to help the state during disasters.
@@SL-wb8jl what do they have to do with Texas? One of their purposes is to help FLORIDA with disasters
Take it upon yourselves and clean it up. Stop relying on the govt..

Rats don't eat wet furniture there must be something for them to eat in there maybe put your food waste in a garbage can.
