Actually the Corolla interior looks premium. There are tons of safety features standard, including a driver knee airbag, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning and assist, etc. I’ve been told the exterior looks like a mini Lexus. Everything about the car from the interior to the exterior feels solid and of high quality. I own a 2018 Corolla SE and love it. Don’t listen to what this guy says. If you want a reliable car for many years without problems, buy a Corolla. You won’t be disappointed.
Toyota is not for car enthusiast like you. It is for those who need a dependable comfortable car that is super cheap to maintain. It will last you a lifetime easily.
The gt 86 is 27k at base, most people can’t always afford it and the corolla top price is 22k the gt86 is more of an enthusiast car while the corolla isn’t, ive noticed most reviewers don’t get that the corolla isn’t an enthusiast car.
Great color on that one. I recently lost my teal 2017 Corolla SE in a collision. The front was totaled, all airbags deployed-I walked away with a fractured wrist and some bruises. I can tell safety was a priority in the design, or my accident could have been much worse. I loved that car for its design too, down to the last detail. Comfortable, nice drive as well. Great car overall, one of my all-time favorites.
I test drove a 2016. I didn't even recognize the CVT until several minutes into the drive. Acceleration wasn't depressing like with the Nissan CVT. It was a fun drive actually.
I had my 2003 Toyota Corolla for 4 yrs. Milage 307,000. Still running good. I just bought the 2017 Toyota Corolla and gave my 2003 to my son. Love my Toyota Corollas!
I have this in Falcon Gray. Love it. Point A to point B. I bought the pre-production loaner. $17K out the door. There is nothing wrong with the door closing. It sounds fine.
Disagree with some items on the Corolla... 1st- doors do NOT close making "plastic noise" , NOT! 2ND- Has good pick up being its smaller engine than competitors. very descent.. 3rd- you cant go wrong with Toyota brand. Have had Hondas and I did not like. Toyota brand is # 1 in my book. Just pick your model!
The old school clock lol. I think the Corolla really needs to have a more powerful engine. If you look at the competition, they give you multiple engine choices.
MrNewlife1968 The competition now only offers turbo engines while Toyota stays with naturally aspirated engines. The 1.8 engine is a tried and proven engine that has plenty of HP for its size. It’s a zippy little engine.
ideaynojodas So I've heard, word is they don't have room in the lineup for it because of the sales of the GS...The ES seems to be doing "ok" & they're expecting the all new LS to sell well. IMO I think the new LS is the GS & LS combined for the continued future if they do go ahead & stop production of the GS.
This guy didn't mention all the safety features like lane departure warning and steering wheel nudge, adaptive cruise control and pedestrian detection/ collision prevention. I feel like he was too negative about it.
That is not the top of the line Entune Audio. That is Entune Audio Plus and there is one tier above that has more apps and the integrated navigation. Inform yourself on a product before reviewing
Have anybody ever told you that you look like Boyka? All you need is a mohawk along with a particular set of skills that would make you the most complete fighter in the world.....(awkward silence) Anyway, nice review. Lol
Its an average car for an average buyer. You compare it to other cars that dont attract the same group of buyers. This is just an ol' reliable, you make it seem like it should be something more. The Corolla competes with other cars, but serves a simpler purpose: To get you to point A to point B. You talk down about it, but its just a car. You set your expectations too high.
other than color(s), is there anything else that makes it "special"...is Toyota limiting the number of 50th SEs? not that this would make me want to buy it especially since the xse is more 'eXciting'...I guess this is what happens when reputation/an idea sells the product and not the actual substance of the product...sad
I drove one of these as a new rental car and it was the 2nd worst driving car ever. And I've owned Toyotas for over 20 years. He was right on the money. It's crap, but reliable.
Richard Lowery dude Corollas are the MOST basic car in the world! did you know as Toyota as a brand makes almost 80% of their money from two models? I really don't understand why people buy this when there is over 150 models of cars out there that offer a lot more stuff some standard such as AWD from every Subaru model made. to me any and every Toyota brand is for family people, cheap people that don't want to spend a lot of money and get basic stuff, old people and people that use that over rated phrase 'I want something reliable' but I think that is stupid.
Like the RAV 4, this looks like a catfish in the front. It will be reliable, but it will not be much fun. Still, it will sell on it's merits alone, and that will be enough for most.
I bought my SE in November and loved it until it had a serious malfunction within a month, which included loss of acceleration and loss of brakes. Toyota couldn't figure it out and they were horrible about the entire thing. I'll never buy another Toyota again and highly suggest that anyone watching this and considering one look elsewhere.
The road noise is completely out of hand. If you buy one, get it dampened, otherwise you will lose your hearing over time. I already had to set up an appointment with my hearing doctor.
The rear suspension crashes so hard I feel like I lost something from the back. I get that they build it for reliability but it is a total ripoff for what you pay.
Way to ruin a nice exterior design Toyota. Thanks for the detailed review Sam - comfort, material quality and design. Front looks like the crappy Prius design. I think the Honda Civic has a much better looking design appeal.
No.. also 24 k for this bitch without a leather or navi.. lol this car is super reliable - ok, but way behind honda for instance, when it comes to interiour and navi..
Luis Herrera it looks like cheap plastic. But you missing my point which is that he rates everything a 4 or up. How crap does it need to be to score a 1, 2 or 3?

You can get a Toyota 86 which is the best driver's car for the money, what are you talking about?
Armin K the toyota 86 is a sports car, you can't compare
The gt 86 is 27k at base, most people can’t always afford it and the corolla top price is 22k the gt86 is more of an enthusiast car while the corolla isn’t, ive noticed most reviewers don’t get that the corolla isn’t an enthusiast car.
AMEN AMEN AMEN 💯💞😇👍
Reliability and safety are what matter most ! So buy corolla.
D S y not camry?

A perfect example of how loyalty and reputation can go a long way in anything.
I test drove a 2016. I didn't even recognize the CVT until several minutes into the drive. Acceleration wasn't depressing like with the Nissan CVT. It was a fun drive actually.
I got a 07 running strong 100 thousand miles I love it...I will only buy Toyota best cars made in my opinion...
I had my 2003 Toyota Corolla for 4 yrs. Milage 307,000. Still running good. I just bought the 2017 Toyota Corolla and gave my 2003 to my son. Love my Toyota Corollas!
💯💯💯💯💯

Dude, Corolla is the Model-T/VW bug of the modern era... I wouldn't bitch too much about it not having baby-seal skin covers on the headlights...
Hay guys he did say he owns a Toyota with over 200.000 miles.
Practically brand new.
I will still buy a Corolla reliability and safety are the best
Sam, will you be reviewing the new 2018 Camry when it is available?
We will yes.
6:09 - Bingo on the infotainment system score - I'd say it actually deserves a 1 star.
i have a 2000 and 2017, if your going to buy a car, prob the best bet its going to last

maybe Toyota will pull a Camry on the Corolla for the next redesign
the Corolla is pretty much the oldest in the segment along with the ford focus
LOL a "door slam" rating? come on. I own the 16 corolla and it has no cheap door slam; omg dude....."door slam" rating? LOL
Best car
First time I've seen the 50th anniversary version of this car....Hey Sam have you heard about the Lexus GS being discontinued after 2018?
penvon for real???
ideaynojodas So I've heard, word is they don't have room in the lineup for it because of the sales of the GS...The ES seems to be doing "ok" & they're expecting the all new LS to sell well.
IMO I think the new LS is the GS & LS combined for the continued future if they do go ahead & stop production of the GS.
penvon damn! farewell to an icon of Lexus! i still have my 2000 GS300.
Not heard that but it doesn't make a lot of sense as it occupies a thick part of the mid-size luxury market. Who knows however.
Love that color mine is slate metalic pretty limited if u want a stick
They are discounting these big time....making them a pretty good deal at the LE/LE ECO level...pricier ones not so much
May I know the colour code of this car.
This guy didn't mention all the safety features like lane departure warning and steering wheel nudge, adaptive cruise control and pedestrian detection/ collision prevention. I feel like he was too negative about it.
He clearly was bias and has a pre existing problem with this car. He doesn't understand the beauty of a Toyota/Lexus.
#BEAUTIFUL SEDAN 😇👍💯💞
I got a stick cvt is for hybrids

PS3Gameplays123 it's entune audio not engine😂
Have anybody ever told you that you look like Boyka? All you need is a mohawk along with a particular set of skills that would make you the most complete fighter in the world.....(awkward silence) Anyway, nice review. Lol
I would put the corolla in the bottom in its class, the new civic with the 1.5t and the cruze is my top choice.
The Corolla will outlast the ugly Civic with a turbo. Chevy Cruze is not even a competitor lol. They are going to stop making them this year.

I really prefer the 2016 Model exterior.
You talk about Hyundai hp but fail to mention the engine fires ha
This car keeps getting uglier every iteration. But it'll still sell regardless but, Meh not for me
I am starting to think, unless it's a GM product, he doesn't like it.
Richard Lowery same here
Richard Lowery GM is probably paying the bills 😃
I drove one of these as a new rental car and it was the 2nd worst driving car ever. And I've owned Toyotas for over 20 years. He was right on the money. It's crap, but reliable.

Ray A dependable as a car of that quality its the most. idk about the cvt and don't want to but the rest of the car will go 300k and more.
hey listen i ownedbb2017corolla but i want subaru spoilerin my corolla
Like the RAV 4, this looks like a catfish in the front. It will be reliable, but it will not be much fun. Still, it will sell on it's merits alone, and that will be enough for most.
The car is attractive and its average in many things I can live with. However. Firm seats and can’t find a good spot is a deal breaker for me.
Toyota is definitely losing its mojo..... Sad....
What a waste. You humans have the potential to fly you know. Wasted potential...
I guess u don't like corolla my friend

anti-corolla GUY!!!
Way to ruin a nice exterior design Toyota. Thanks for the detailed review Sam - comfort, material quality and design. Front looks like the crappy Prius design. I think the Honda Civic has a much better looking design appeal.
Stop with the negitivity
Under powered ❗️
You earthlings are also under powered. How you like that...
Nope, the power is fine
New Toyota's grow Mold in the HVAC due to design flaw, makes Owners Sick!! Toyota conceals the Problem!!
4 out of 5 stars for that garbage interior? are you kidding me?
No.. also 24 k for this bitch without a leather or navi.. lol this car is super reliable - ok, but way behind honda for instance, when it comes to interiour and navi..
lol the interior is bad ass chill out. did a Corolla owner pound the shit out of your girlfriend or something?
Luis Herrera it looks like cheap plastic. But you missing my point which is that he rates everything a 4 or up. How crap does it need to be to score a 1, 2 or 3?
LokiDaFerret he's ragging on it the entire video and gives it a 4 and up every aspect lol. yeah I get you
Garbage interior and exterior equals a Hyundai. Not Toyota!!
That is one of the ugliest cars i've ever seen
Alan Reams you probably drive a Kia.
