Thanks for the video. Very helpful indeed. We’re looking at making the move from France to Spain next year and as we’ll eventually buy a property the overall budget yearly cost would be very favourable. As you say depends on your own lifestyle and costs could go up or down depending but certainly is a very good indicator. This is the type of info we’re collecting as in water costs, electricity costs etc etc. Well done and thanks again 😊

Thank you for the info, it’s greatly appreciated. I live in the US and had originally wanted to move to Mexico, but the requirements are much greater than Spain plus you don’t have to deal with the Crime situation. I would like to hear your thoughts on Taxes. And did I hear you say this is based on 2 people?

Yes budget was on 2 people
Taxes are 21% 22-% higher than uk 🇬🇧 but lower than some of the other European countries

Great info Colin, thanks for doing a video on this mate it’s really insightful. What sort of figure would you include for your annual legal costs for tax returns etc? 👍🏼

Hi, you’ve used a 4 week multiplier x12 which equates to 48 weeks in the year therefore you need to multiply your total 4 week costs costs by 13. I would also add a cost for health insurance even if you have S1 and then add 1000 for any emergency or flights etc. therefore, all in, approx. 24000 euros a year.

Rough cost a month can be a lot cheaper or a lot dearer depending how yo want to spend on your rent food dinning out clothes shopping usage of electricity ⚡️ and of course if you need healthcare need include if retirement no need you will be covered by the uk 🇬🇧 healthcare’s S1

Listen to upsticks podcast. I’m sure they said for a couple on a non lucrative visa (after the first year) - it’s been extended to 4years you need per year 72000 e in your bank account then you have the option of residency after then. I’ve not looked into it properly we are trying to get a German passport through my husbands mother.
