      Thank you! Just as a quick update the turbo has gone cross country twice and is still boosting 36+ PSI EASY

    Damn how TFdo you get the turbine housing on the fucking thing. You can’t see inside the mf where the nozzle blades go

      What difficult part?

  • @turboflush
    @turboflush 5 месяцев назад

    My turbo
    Identical.. except. The gear tooth has lines on the turbo to lign up with. One is full vgt other is none. This is in the cummins manual and used during calibration.
    My vane cartridge has two snap rings. Both are in the hot side snail and impossible to remove.
    Looking down into the hot snail, first ring is inside to capture center cartridge. In addition to the outer clamp. Second one locks the vane plate into place.
    These are cummins holset turbos. So not sure why yours is missing these.

      What year and model truck?
      What’s the turbo number? Cummins made 2 different turbos to my knowledge

      I have a special calibration tool so it didn’t matter for us

      @DIYKAI this is a 2018. However the earlier ?2016? Has dame build just different hot snail. Still has the c clips.
      Only way I can think to get the vane disc out is to destroy it.

      @@turboflush yes we had to collapse it and deform it to remove. 2016 was the later style turbos....2013 they started to change them

    Quick question for you… have you ever seen the coolant side of the turbo leak?

      @@HanktheTank349 from the line connections yes

    • @HanktheTank349
      @HanktheTank349 Месяц назад

      @@DIYKAI do you want honk it’s possible to be leaking into the turbo? I’m getting excessive pressure build up in my radiator and it’s pushing coolant into the reservoir. I’ve done a pressure test and combustion gas test already.

    • @DIYKAI
      @DIYKAI  Месяц назад

      @@HanktheTank349 if your building pressure it would not be from the turbo....pressure test will only show you a leak.....you might have some head walk or a head gasket starting to go out....have you checked the torque on your head bolts I have seen them loose before

    • @HanktheTank349
      @HanktheTank349 Месяц назад +1

      @@DIYKAI I haven’t checked the torque on them yet. I’ll look into that. I have to rebuild the turbo anyways, the bearing is making a high pitch noise… which is why I found your video. Thanks for your help
