I never read a single Judy Bloom book back in the seventies or eighties, but even I know “WE MUST, WE MUST, WE MUST INCREASE OUR BUST!” It had a life of its own.
Isn't the second half something like.. "THEY MAY, THEY MAY, THEY MAY GET BIG SOME DAY!" ??
..FOR FEAR, FOR FEAR, WE'LL NEVER WEAR A BRAZIER!
It's better, it's better, it's better for the sweater!!
This was my favorite book ever, and I literally just bought this book for my 10 year old daughter. I told her she needed to read it, it took her ahwile, but now her and her friends are obsessed with the book. I almost cried when she just told me there is a movie coming out. I cant WAIT to take her to see this!!
"And introducing Abby Ryder Fortson... who has already had two prominent, acclaimed roles in the first two Ant-Man movies, and a prominent role in a couple episodes of Tales from the Loop." (I'm only nitpicking that because I've seen this happen in a couple movies/shows where they try to "take credit" for a new star. The trailer actually looks really good. Abby's a great choice for Margaret.)
I swear she looked so familiar that I cannot put my finger on it.
I absolutely loved this book...thank you💗
I loved this book! I’m in middle school and trying to survive adolescence as well.
I’m obsessed with this version of What is Life
Woooowwww! The memories!!! I’m shaking!
It's about time that amazing book became a movie 🎬!!! Looking fwd to this very much!!
If the Fudge series is adapted into a movie they should go the same route as this movie. Set it during the time the book was published. 😊
Awesome!!! I read the book so many years ago!
Just saw this today with my mom and best friend. I read the book when I was a kid and even though I never said the "We must increase our bust" chant, my mom used to tell me about this all the time (motions and everything), so the first time I saw this trailer, I busted up laughing at that part because of the memory of my mom telling me about it.
This makes me Happy 😊
Love this book and I’m sure I’ll be happy with the movie, as I’m already pretty excited about it. So glad to see the bust exercises make it into the film!
Subject aside, why is it that when films and shows are made to represent life in the 1970s, they seem to get everything right except for the styling of the mom characters? I was not alive in the 70s, and didn’t come into existence until the 80s, but I do have a fairly accurate memory (and photos) of young adult women and moms from that time, and the styling was very specific to both decades, in both hair and fashion. Watching the new Christmas Story movie, everyone could’ve passed for living in the early 70s except for Ralphie’s wife, who looked like she was a time traveler from the 2000s (now.) It was like they ran out of money in the budget to get her hair styled properly. Unfortunately, it looks like Rachel McAdams is also way understyled for this role, as well. We can’t ignore the fact that women rolled, feathered, or flattened their hair and sprayed it with a ton of AquaNet back then! Maybe I’m missing an entire section of the female 1970s population who did not conform to these styles, but the lead female characters shouldn’t look so out of place that it’d be questionable as to what film they’re in if you looked at a still shot.
Rant over, and I can’t wait to watch this! Judy Blume is and always will be my favorite. Her books are some of the best I’ve ever read.
I remember when my mom read me this book 😂 I can’t wait until the movie comes out we are gonna see it together lol😭

When the mom asks, “you think you need one?” Is that supposed to be funny?
That's Cassie from antman
And Christine Palmer.
Christian movies should be more like this, not weirdly boring
Some are good, the gospel of John was excellent but when it’s made by Hollywood good luck getting a godly movie
Define NORMAL. Define Heaven. Define Hell.
Where is the Source of Truth? Not this movie. That is why HE sent me. You will not hear me, define Why?
The movie is a flop....probably for good reason...don't
t waste your money...read the book instead.
This has nothing to do with the movie.
Are you there god? Fifty years later, scientists begin trying to understand why god never answers. A few hundred years later, people come up with belief. A millennia later real questions are asked, and answers are sought using real science.
Shortening the story, A.I. is created, and boom, there's god, we made it.
Rachel McAdams
Yes, that hot comb. I remember it well. Finally, a film about actual girls for actual women and girls, about a time when we all knew girls were actual girls. I will definitely be supporting this film. We as women need to make sure that it succeeds at the box office so we can see more films like this for real women and girls...
