Diesel powerplants are known to be workhorses due to the massive amounts of torque produced. Things get especially interesting when massive amounts of boost are applied to these powerplants, then hooked up to a huge weighted sled. The ultimate goal is for a "full pull"...meeting or exceeding the entire length of the 300' dirt pad.
Classes for the NHRDA Sled Pulls at Tulsa Raceway Park include Super Stock, Pro Stock, Limited Pro Stock, 2.5 Class, Work Stock, Big Rig and Tractor.

It's things like this that keep me in the heavy truck industry ::FREEDOM!::
Did I miss the FORD's? HAHA I love seeing the lack of those curses.
4:17 forgot how good these diesels sound
Everyone in the USA! Thank you for registering my channel. I am watching from Japan American car culture is the best
Cummins diesels have some badass moters
You know you good when you break the yellow hitch! We need to know more about the green 389 peterbilt.
omg the 2nd truck sounded like a video game at the end.. I could listen to that all day hehe especially with my headphones wow
Im probably the one black guy commenting. Just checking in... Love big trucks.
Huy Nguyen Ho I'm Asian too
Another black guy #cummins4life
White guy here. Good to hear you all like something cool.
I think black people are more into cars than people realize. Those I met just keep a low profile.
Dominique Miller you’re not the only one, lol. Two Cummins and a Duramax is what sits in my driveway. They all got some kind of “work” done to them. I love big trucks and big machines.
The Husband
Its a white privilage to be black
5:42 OUCH. excellent videos of excellent good job that was just one big torque Fest very cool
It's not part of the truck it fell off
Love the video. Can't wait to see more.
the dodge ram that won the two pulls is baillies diesel. I live in the same town as them. actually had them do work on my truck. they know what they're doing.
At 4:46 is the best part when he shifts and gets in the power band
Fuck yes I totally agree!!!
Addicted to Big Motor Power!!!.
The Green Trucker was the Smartest and had good knowledge of Physics i.e. Momentum
good to see brandon's sled getting a work out
those doulies look bad ass without fenders.
Love these! Keep posting please!
:58
My turbo goes zuz zuzz zuzzzzzz zuzzaa..dayum!!
Great video! How do they coordinate the sled weight for each truck , or truck type?
fuck yea that green N white pete! owned it! nice rig bud! and u can bet it's CAT POWER TOO!!
Hard to beat a kitty Cat. When I was on the road, the new Detroit Series 60 came out & blew me away. I was used to the old days of slamming your fingers in the door right away so you're good & pissed cause you'll be throwing a lot of gears, lol.
I pulled a 9 axle local heavy haul for about 2 years & I ran a set back axle, day cab, 4 axle Autocar. It just had the 425 with an 18 speed & a mid 4:30-4:60 gears. CRS. It'd only do about 54mph or so but it'd damn sure pull a wet whore out of bed, lol.
Not much for a jake brake. You're better off holding an empty Glad sandwich bag out the window, lol.
That outfit had several old rigs with Allison's too that were used for transfromer decks. Those truck pulls are a good place for them. I noticed a few of these truck's exhaust never stopped so they must be using them.
What I wonder is if the big rigs are relying on torque or power on the big end?
Green/white Pete stole the show. The guy running the sled goes for a ride at the end. Only thing stopping the Pete is they never prepped the track that far out.
+mike groff You dammed skippy pard I put over a million miles on a series 60 myself and it's a dam fine motor! sumbich with a super 10 would pull 105.500 all day up mountain passes side by side with anny ISX 475 OR CAT MOTORS! AT 80G Lol I have nuttin agin Detroit power!! I cut my teeth in a silver 92 in a dam 78 international paystar with 5×5 pullin fuel to places all over the west! and that fucker had strait stacks TA boot needless to say there were 2 open holes! in the dash lol one for the radio N one for the cb!! lol cause u ain't never! gunna hear either one!! lol
Big Motor!! Big Motor Power!!!!!
That green Pete wow
cool diesel pickups
Love your videos keep it up
real question is, do these trucks have proper tunes to help with seriousb horse power under the hood or just rolling coal mods, buti know when you have super chargers and have proper tunes both can happen with the outcome of serious towing power causing coal to roll
I'm pretty sure they have proper tunes
I've asked like 20 people. what gear do the regular semi trucks start off in
Wayne Peake 1st
2nd time green truck....yay!
all on stock 68 rfe transmissions right? :)
amazing video keep it up;)
Burnin Coal!
I love my diesel trucks
Damn that green and white pete sounded like a fuckin animal.
Did the first truck have like a 12 foot bed? Lol
Poor addicted, right when it had came on and I heard the noise I new somethin was up
How much do these sleds weigh ??
Up to 40,000 pounds
They sound good turbo flutter n boost
BIG RIGS all sound like 3406E's amazing
Dats one mean azz 389 Pete
1:05 that truck hauls ass!!
I love the dodge
were working on hydraulic turbos driven by the exhaust and engine , the regular exhaust impeller runs the hydraulic intake impeller, its a two stage system , using as much waste heat to inturn to make more power
muy bueno increíble lo que hacen con lo motores toda la potencia que le sacan un saludo desde Argentina espero puedan entender mi mensaje abrazos
Power is dangerous thing in 🌎
I want to see this done on rough textured concrete for maximum traction, that's when we see the real power. They will start pulling a very heavy something on wheels on level ground the after travelling so far they start going up hill and farther they go the steeper the hill gets of cores no one will ever be behind puller at any given time and near where they start will be a lot of deep lose sand to stop roll backs or the trailer in tow and the puller,s suspension will drop setting the trailer and puller on the concrete stopping them from runaway.
What size motors are in these big rigs?
mulymule12 Around 15 or 16 liters! Maybe bigger. They usually don't spin much over 2000 rpm, but these are not stock so who knows.
Going down the street in my 6.0
Blowing a head gaskit needing a tow
shut up loser
CHEVY POWER!
Cummins for the win bud
@@teds4983 and cummins is only an engine not a truck
@@thermidorlevrai65 Whats a truck without a good motor? A paperweight
@@teds4983 yep
what makes the weight slide forward time or distance?
beach side Distance....as the wheels turn on the sled
ah ok that makes sense thanks...peace
what Power steering?
Semi trucks need to figure out their gearing
the Black Pete the silver and orange Pete and the green and white Pete are not just built for sled pulls those three trucks work everyday running up and down the interstate hauling loads if they were to get the gearing setup for sled pulling only those Trucks would be totally useless on the interstate for working them the last time that black 359 was put on a dyno it was putting right around 1351 to the ground the silver and orange truck is putting almost 1300 to the ground the green and white truck is right around 1600 to the ground
robbiecoyle22 No wonder that green/white one sounded like the most pissed off animal I've ever heard. What engine is in that?
I would thing with the amount of torque these trucks have they would have longer gears. Then again I know nothing about diesels been a gasser all my life
I think superchargers are awesome on gas powered cars and trucks, but every diesel deserves both turbos and a supercharger all on one engine.
this is good for ozone and healty living
So is factory farming
Still cleaner than driving your gas powered car.
Awhhh hows the Prius life 🤣🤣🤣
I'm confused are the tanks on the front of the trucks fuel tank, water to air intcoolers, or just wights
just weight
until all the dodges breakdown
fuck yeah!! good shit!
How many times can one of these trucks do that until it blows? That is an extreme amount of stress.
Daniel Thompson they get serviced after every show I’m pretty sure
are those distance measured linear to the force. or exponentially.
Distant
Why do the small trucks typically pull the sled further than the big rigs?
different weight
too much power on the green machine Pete
Anyone know the dead weight of that trailer that they pull?
@jokrj 12 tons maybe
40,000 pounds and it's not a trailer
It's called a weight transfer sled or just pulling sled
They had a lotta trains pullin
Merica AF
Where are all those badass cummins eating powerstrokes at🤔
what happened to the truck that started smoking white smoke
Turbos imploded I believe
+rekjavicxxx so basically the turbos are blown up right.
+Morgen Heath those trucks run 3 turbos. 2 feeding 1 then into engine so prob one of the first 2 failed
usually blue smoke when a turbo lets go, white smoke when a head gasket goes, either way, it looks expensive.
+initialB 240 definitely a head gasket you could hear the dead miss on one cylinder as he was backing up
alot of rams
Im more of a Ford guy but 0:36.....good god!!!! its like it wants to be a 454. #duramaxlife
Why do the big rigs usually not do as good
More weight on the sled
Shorter gears, u gotta be fast on the shift or you'll lose momentum and ur runs done
what is the weight in the sled on those?
+ObsceneBlue79 can be around 50000 pounds at the top of the slide, the sled up here puts down 72000 pounds at the top
Americans are so worried about the ozone layer...GUESS WHO'S FUCKIN IT UP...
Frans van Deventer the germans
Factory farms.
What is that thing that moves forward as they tow the sled
Alexis Rodriguez the weights
notice it's almost nothing but dodge cummins
So that truck that had a Perkins diesel banner..... it sounded like a cummins to me
0:54 you're welcome
Love it 😍 pure diesel porn
Lmao second truck said. It’s too much I’d go home if I was him
does anyone else think it will smell horrible there?
No
If you don't like the smell of diesel, I doubt you would be there.
+Mike Speaks how did you know?!
Green truck, oops.
the pickups pull better than the semis
The semis had a lot more weight to pull
Chooch..............................
All of these are Cummins lol
Why are they all driving Dodges? This is coming from a truck fan, but unfortunately, not a truck owner.
Cummins are way easier to work on and you get more toqure out of a I6 vs aV8.
+caleb simth The working on thing is debatable as how easy something is depends on a subjective opinion, but I thought Dodges had 6.7 V8s?
No the Cummings 6.7 are an I6. But power stroke is a v8 6.7. I think lots of ppl assume it's a v8 because ford is.
+Tyler Pritchett most of the important things are very easy to get at on cummins. valves and cam sit on top, injectors and fuel rail on the drivers side and turbo and exhaust on the passenger side. the v8 diesels have stuff piped all over, some of them you have to take the cab off to get at the back cylinders. also the I6 design has 30% fewer parts.
Did anyone see that the Pulling Sled keeps putting on the brakes before then end.. I noted he did this on runs that guys where not pass the end and stopping them shot... WTF?
Pull 4:17 shows Pulling Sled putting on the brakes and stopping the truck short of the 300 feet.... At 4:29 brakes are ON until end at 4:34... 297.03 ft.. short 300ft thats dirty man....
Rules say that the Pulling Sled not to put on brakes until the 300ft or loss of control... none of that happen. That track is more then long.
They found out this guy was doing that they would take him out behind the potty's and bust his ass open with a pipe...
The sled operator he just drives the sled backwards that's it he doesn't use brake the back wheels of the sled are powered be the engine the wheels in front of that powers the weight box to move up the rails right at about 250 the box hits a trigger that make the back wheels of the sled lift off the ground on to the pan where all the weight is on the pan and under the pan there teeth at the back of the pan that can go into the ground to stop the tractor or truck going down the track
You should come to London 😎
gay
The Tesla big rig will dominate this once available. All torque off the line, probably no shifting, and where most of the distance comes from the early momentum of the trailer.
It's not a trailer it's a weight transfer sled or just pulling sled and tesla truck won't pull it
Sounds like Jimmy 2 cycle engines in pickups.
not even close
se patio el traile
???????????
You have no clue what tractor pulling is
Euro 6? )))))
prius owners will be triggered lmao
lol!!
The extra fuel helps to cool the pistons
love watching the station wagon 4 door trucks get beat down...go home you family men and get a real truck...whats in the back? kids?...thats why my truck has two doors, to keep the family out of it
phil tripe some use the 4 doors as a longer wheel base for aid in pulling
phil tripe some use the 4 doors as a longer wheel base for aid in pulling
So much pollution.. why choose a sport that harm so much what created and fed our ancestors?
Then we complain about global pollution
MrPytbull factory farming causes global warming
And the fast food industry
leave it to cummins to get the job done
so prius owners... how fast does yours go? only you guys disliked it. And how much power do you guys make in your puny prius?
austin stpeter
They're too busy getting 50 mpg to give a shit about how much horsepower they make. and not everyone needs a fucking diesel truck genius. If all you need is a car to get your ass to work why the fuck wouldn't you take 50 mpg? Talk sense you sound ridiculous. I dd a compound turbo'd cummins dually. But I don't see the problem with people wanting to drive conservative vehicles.
I think we found a Prius owner
@@drawn_user407 if you're referring to me ask a grown up to read you my comment.

Cancer is something you joke about you peace of SHIT
looks like coal locomotives
how much pollution they are making
Neekolus Cage not as much as a factory farm.
