    Diesel powerplants are known to be workhorses due to the massive amounts of torque produced. Things get especially interesting when massive amounts of boost are applied to these powerplants, then hooked up to a huge weighted sled. The ultimate goal is for a "full pull"...meeting or exceeding the entire length of the 300' dirt pad.
    Classes for the NHRDA Sled Pulls at Tulsa Raceway Park include Super Stock, Pro Stock, Limited Pro Stock, 2.5 Class, Work Stock, Big Rig and Tractor.

      Hard to beat a kitty Cat. When I was on the road, the new Detroit Series 60 came out & blew me away. I was used to the old days of slamming your fingers in the door right away so you're good & pissed cause you'll be throwing a lot of gears, lol.
      I pulled a 9 axle local heavy haul for about 2 years & I ran a set back axle, day cab, 4 axle Autocar. It just had the 425 with an 18 speed & a mid 4:30-4:60 gears. CRS. It'd only do about 54mph or so but it'd damn sure pull a wet whore out of bed, lol.
      Not much for a jake brake. You're better off holding an empty Glad sandwich bag out the window, lol.
      That outfit had several old rigs with Allison's too that were used for transfromer decks. Those truck pulls are a good place for them. I noticed a few of these truck's exhaust never stopped so they must be using them.
      What I wonder is if the big rigs are relying on torque or power on the big end?
      Green/white Pete stole the show. The guy running the sled goes for a ride at the end. Only thing stopping the Pete is they never prepped the track that far out.

    I want to see this done on rough textured concrete for maximum traction, that's when we see the real power. They will start pulling a very heavy something on wheels on level ground the after travelling so far they start going up hill and farther they go the steeper the hill gets of cores no one will ever be behind puller at any given time and near where they start will be a lot of deep lose sand to stop roll backs or the trailer in tow and the puller,s suspension will drop setting the trailer and puller on the concrete stopping them from runaway.

      No the Cummings 6.7 are an I6. But power stroke is a v8 6.7. I think lots of ppl assume it's a v8 because ford is.

    • @SAVAGECUMMINS
      @SAVAGECUMMINS 8 лет назад

      +Tyler Pritchett most of the important things are very easy to get at on cummins. valves and cam sit on top, injectors and fuel rail on the drivers side and turbo and exhaust on the passenger side. the v8 diesels have stuff piped all over, some of them you have to take the cab off to get at the back cylinders. also the I6 design has 30% fewer parts.

    Did anyone see that the Pulling Sled keeps putting on the brakes before then end.. I noted he did this on runs that guys where not pass the end and stopping them shot... WTF?
    Pull 4:17 shows Pulling Sled putting on the brakes and stopping the truck short of the 300 feet.... At 4:29 brakes are ON until end at 4:34... 297.03 ft.. short 300ft thats dirty man....
    Rules say that the Pulling Sled not to put on brakes until the 300ft or loss of control... none of that happen. That track is more then long.
    They found out this guy was doing that they would take him out behind the potty's and bust his ass open with a pipe...

      The sled operator he just drives the sled backwards that's it he doesn't use brake the back wheels of the sled are powered be the engine the wheels in front of that powers the weight box to move up the rails right at about 250 the box hits a trigger that make the back wheels of the sled lift off the ground on to the pan where all the weight is on the pan and under the pan there teeth at the back of the pan that can go into the ground to stop the tractor or truck going down the track

      They're too busy getting 50 mpg to give a shit about how much horsepower they make. and not everyone needs a fucking diesel truck genius. If all you need is a car to get your ass to work why the fuck wouldn't you take 50 mpg? Talk sense you sound ridiculous. I dd a compound turbo'd cummins dually. But I don't see the problem with people wanting to drive conservative vehicles.
