It’s nice to see that this was the episode where they first met Steve the contractor…but I wouldn’t be surprised if they already knew him and it was just content for the show Hoping they show more of the older episodes
I like the house for the time they made this episode. The only thing i wish they would’ve done is painted the ceiling addition and kept the beams as is, to give it a bit more farmhouse vibe that they already had
I agree that the "cabin vibe" in the extension doesn't work. I'm surprised that they would leave a wagon wheel lighting fixture up -- so tacky. The dining table is awkwardly placed; instead of adding more cabinetry on that odd wall facing the living room, building in a banquette would have been ideal.
Hahaha! Seriously? The contractor didn’t notice the electrical panel on the initial inspection? I guess they have to add some drama for the audience, right?
Nice renovation. It's a bit of an awkward layout, but what a huge improvement! I was surprised they didn't paint the ceiling white. I love wood, but that was really dated, especially the cheap looking wood door in the fireplace. That backyard was ready for someone to put their stamp on it. The little railing in front did nothing for the curb appeal. I'm always surprised that Christina never puts a flower pot or something at the front door so it feels welcoming.
I don't know how long ago this was made but the prices quoted by all contractors on this and other episodes is crazy low, especially in California. Four years ago (2018) I had just my sewer line replaced, house to street, and it was more than $10K and the quote for the whole house re-plumb in this episode, including sewer lane, was $3,500. Seems kind of unbelievable.
If you averaged all the unseen extra costs you've encountered in your flipping career, how much or what percent would you suggest people automatically plan for to keep from having the stress Tarek always has?
@@johnames6430 More than that in coastal SoCal to redo that whole house! I just remodeled a normal size bathroom (shower, double vanity, toilet) did not use crazy expensive materials, and it cost me 30K.
Why they dont let all 3 contractors work on what they bid low? One guy do the roof, one guy pipes and electric, one guy tiles etc. Thats how its done in my country.
@Julpetz 9.41 "but unfortunately they both fell through". I think this means the buyers' bank or finance company did not approve the loan amount needed to buy the house.
Plastic windows, laminate floors, cheap box store fixtures. Mayve ethy shoudl just buldoze it and put a trailer home there. Im so glad proerty values are rising and flippers cant make profits and ruin more properties.
I don’t like the front yard. The paint and not much garden makes the house look cheap and like government housing. the backyard is better with privacy. Inside has some nice finishes. I don’t mind the cabin vibe, but the layout is all over the place. Kitchen spread out too much. and i know this episode is old, but the kitchen countertops have not aged well. They look cheap and nasty

3500 for a whole house re piping?? I wish I could have that done at my 1942 house.

They definately became more trendy and aware of what their market likes over the years.

Environment matters yk
These prices are always really low for fixing and rehabbing things.
Very nice! Change the cheap looking wood door on the fireplace, and you're good.
I agree. It looked ghetto. Lol.
This was when Tarek still asked and listened to Christina's opinion.
it's also when she knew how to be a wife, the little bit of fame from the show corrupted her
They kept the wagon wheel chandelier ha ha
3500 for whole plumbing is nothing! this is very old cause its before they got their own crew
If they had painted the brown rafters white, I think it would have sold sooner.
The electric work would have been in the original bid. How do you not see that old panel and not know what is needed?
Love the yard.

Galvanized water pipes... come on America, that's not safe
40k is it only labor or everything? What year was this???
they look young so this is old, it would be probably be 80-100k today
Like 2013-2014

can somebody explain why the house has not been sold out when they got two full price offer?

I liked the 50,000 contractor.
Air conditioner in the wall?
❤️
Mashallah very beautiful, may God protect you

Weird decision to keep some of the worst shrubbery and remove that which looked nicer. The island should have stayed to the kitchen side of the posts.

This Reno was unsuccessful, countertops are awful, looked so cheap+ the sink... White would look so much better.
These is a really old episode - so materials and styles were different.
I think. Christina has divorced two men because she has no patience. She looking odd to me
