Came for the Mind MGMT playthrough, stayed for the Recruiter's Cones of Dunshire tshirt and his panicked "they almost got me" glances at the camera. Great video! Very enjoyable, easy explanation for what could be a complicated game. Definitely looking forward to future videos as well as watching some of your past ones. Thanks!
That Cones of Dunshire shirt is one of my favorites - birthday present from my kids and always gets a comment when I wear it to a convention. Glad you enjoyed the video - and be sure to check out some of our tutorials to - they're the reason we're called Kidsplaining. Don't let the kids fool you - they do an amazing job teaching those games. Lots more coming soon too - both in the family game weight and heavier play throughs. Should be lots of fun!
Fantastic production value, pleasant setting, very well edited and presented. Thanks for this! Since you're very clearly trying to follow the footsteps of TableTop (and thank god), why not have an awards ceremony at the end? edit: also, to attract viewership, maybe pick a really popular classic game to play?
Thank you SO MUCH! We are definitely trying to fill the gap that Tabletop left. Right now it's being shot in our living room, but we're building a permanent space for it soon and once we do that we'll start looking at other things to do, like awards and whatnot. I also feel like we need to earn the right to directly pull those elements from Tabletop, but this video is a huge step in that direction. And we're are definitely working on our evergreen content and excited to share that soon!
I found the dreaded "alpha Gamer syndrome" was present during this game. Maybe it was just me, but I felt like every suggestion Alison presented was shot down. Other than that, I feel it explained and covered the gameplay pretty well.
Yeah, that's definitely something that I felt I didn't do a great job on! I noticed it when rewatching post-production rather than in game. I've mostly played that game as the Recruiter, making decisions solo, so I could have done a better job of being a teammate. Thanks for being forthright and mentioning that :) It'll be something I consider more consciously if we play other cooperative games.
@@DevonTalksTabletop I'm sure its tough in general when the camera is rolling, your trying to remember everything that needs to be said, plus make the gameplay interesting. Can't wait to play this game.
@@DevonTalksTabletop I also noticed, but it's nice to have read your response, Devon. I hope you guys do decide to play coop games in the future because this was SO entertaining to watch regardless. I appreciate all of your guys' enthusiasm - you can clearly tell how much fun you all were having and how deeply invested you guys were to give it your all in trying to secure victory. As someone else mentioned, I stumbled upon your channel and subscribed after watching this. Looking forward to your guys' content!
Just want to say this was a really well produced video! Me and my partner have been playing it and she was looking for a good video to showcase the game and make it easier to follow so she could learn the strategy a bit more. This really hit the spot and was very entertaining too. Can't wait to play this again, great job guys!
So excited :) For whatever reason, I cannot take Daniel seriously :D I would love to see him trying to lie while passing cards in cockroach poker! But congratulations Daniel for evading a two-headed supercomputer.
I really like what you guys are doing here and I am looking forward to seeing more. The graphic overlays and close ups of the cards really help in the learning of the game without have to do a complete rules explain at the beginning. That is one of the things I really enjoyed about Tabletop. Please keep up the great work. On a critical note I watch almost everything with headphones and there were a few times that the audio would change. It sounded like it was coming from one of the cameras, more echoey. It wasn’t all the time just some times. I know this is only a temporary set location, so having the permanent setup will help, but just wanted to point it out.
Thanks so much, really appreciate the feedback. And I am definitely aware and honestly frustrated with the audio. We're shooting in a hard room so instead of the mics just picking up the other players sounding "far away" it's picking up echo off of the walls and floors and ceilings. Definitely something we're working on improving, AND, we just started construction on the permanent studio space for Play the Game, so hopefully we'll be shooting in there starting in March, and all of my audio problems will be solved, or at least greatly simplified!
First of your vids that I’ve watched, superbly done! Great explanations, not too wordy, well edited and integrated to show what’s going on and some reasoning for decisions, etc. Instant subscribe and thumb!
Fantastic! Thanks so much, hope you continue to enjoy the videos, we have some great ones coming up, and the playthroughs are getting better and better each time!
Thanks so much! If you haven't check out the other videos in the Play the Game series yet, we're in the new studio now and they've only gotten better! We just posted Burncycle yesterday and have a lot more in the pipeline.
They definitely got that feel. Great job explaining as the game went along so it wasn’t too much. There’s nothing like seeing a game in-action for learning how its played.
I appreciate the enthusiasm but holy shit that guy kept cutting the woman everytime she spoke. Super annoying. If I saw that in my gaming group I'd call him out for sure.
Great gameplay, thank you! It felt a bit like Devin quarterbacked but still a good time.
Glad you enjoyed it :)

Glad you enjoyed it! We were happy with the result and Daniel did a fantastic job kicking it up a notch with the editing 😃
The production of this video is just superb.
I immediately subbed.
Clear camera shots, good explanation, it’s just a joy to watch, keep it up!
yeah!

I would love to play Cockroach Poker for the series! That would be a fun one to see how Daniel does 😉
This vid is fantastic! Watching this made it so easy to learn how to play. Great work!!
Wow! thank you, guys! This is THE gameplay!
Glad you enjoy it!
Very solid play-through. Great production and editing!
We're glad you thought so! Daniel did such a great job of putting it all together.
Amazing production! Very easy to watch and follow through. You seem to really care about your content. Subscribed

Really well done video. Hope to see more medium to heavy games like this.
We hope to get more like that done too! Any requests?
Very well edited and presented. Impressive! Can't wait for the kickstarter!
I'm so happy they're doing a Kickstarter so more people can get in on this game :D
Great gameplay!. I can´t wait to get my copy!.
It's a really good one!
Your playthrough was just so fun to watch ! Thanks for this awesome video 🥰
Goad you enjoyed it!
Nice! I have heard so much good about this one. Awesome to see a full playthrough (done SO well) Really will help me understand the game.

Hmmm it looks we have a new version of "Tabletop" here now, don't we ;) Now... where is Sir Wheaton lol?
That's what we're going for! And I tagged him on Reddit but haven't gotten a response yet.

Here’s my super in-depth review of this video and this channel:

This was an excellent video!! Love this game so much, it’s fun even when you lose! Ha
Thanks so much! Daniel did a great job editing and it was a blast to play :D
I rarely seen recruiters won in this game , at least on online play through , is that right ? It seems super fun
24:00 why wasnt the immortel pushed aside after the shakedown
Good catch, We probably just forgot in the moment.
You guys were waaaay to eager to try to capture. You needed more info. Good playthrough though.
Yeah, they did get a little to agressive, and it almost paid off but not quite. Glad you enjoyed it!
So basically Scotland Yard?
I appreciate the enthusiasm but holy shit that guy kept cutting the woman everytime she spoke. Super annoying. If I saw that in my gaming group I'd call him out for sure.
