I flew Air Canada from the USA to S. Korea (Seoul) and Japan (Tokyo) via YVR multiple times on 767s, 787-8s & 9s, and 777-300s, in both business and premium economy. I also flew United, Korean, Asian, & ANA. The 767’s were pretty worn but the newer planes were great, and I was always impressed with the service and quality. A real treat was flying on a 787-9 that had just been delivered and was on it’s 1st paying passenger flight. The pilot was so proud he invited some of the business passengers up to the flight deck (after landing and waiting for gate clearance). I do think Air Canada is NA’s best airline. Even the Dash-8 experience isn’t too bad.

Starting to really appreciate your trip reviews and commentary. I think you are very fair and not overly critical to airlines unlike some other vloggers.
Frequent AC flyer here. A small tip on the AC bistro: the best selection tends to be the hot meal package (which goes for about $15), because it’s basically the extra entrées from Business Class. They even serve them in real plates and cutlery and a mini bottle of red or white wine so it’s basically a mini business class meal package from upfront served in your economy seat :) I can confirm they still offer this even in midst of COVID.

At 11:36 Most beautiful airplane wing in all of commercial aviation! Like the wings of a majestic seagull in flight, but much better because it won't poop on your car... or head!

You said a trip to North Florida, instead of South Florida. 😁
I flew on an Air Canada Dreamliner, in the sky blue livery from Toronto to Bogota in business class. I personally love the Dreamliner more than any other aircraft flying at the moment, but didn't really enjoy Air Canada business class. The lounge was closed at the time, and inflight service was underwhelming.

Haha yup, every time I do trips like this I make sure to be 100% honest with my story, and I’ve had times where it did raise flags, and have been sent to secondary search. On this trip for example I explained to the us officer the purpose of my trip, he was quite confused, but let me go pretty quickly.

Nope, those are to present the safety video when the bulkhead row needs to have their individual screens stored for taxi and takeoff, afterwards they work to showcase the flight map

When you have a chance, definitely try out AC’s domestic or transborder Business and PE products. I think you’d enjoy them.
For a North American legacy carrier, AC really starts to shine in its soft product offerings in business class and premium economy (compared to the U.S. big 3). In domestic business class, AC this year resumed full 3 course meals on their wide bodies, even for flights sub 3 hours. On narrow bodies and premium economy, they also offer full hot menu service with 2-4 meal selections even for short haul regional routes. Not to mention complimentary lounge access for all business pax. Really sets them apart from the likes of UA and AA which seem to be hell-bent on cost cutting their domestic first and business inflight service.

I'm amazed that you rave so much about AC. Having flown them both domestically and international, they are barely adequate. Certainly nothing better. Food is minimal, attendant service is, at best, perfunctory. Admittedly, this is true of most airlines nowadays. But they certainly do not excel in any area.

I flew with Air Canada twice so far. The first time was from Seattle to Toronto and reverse via B767. The experience was decent though the seat was broken during one flight of the return trip. The second time was a round trip from Seattle to HK via B777. It was a nightmare. On one hand, the seats in the economy class were super narrow in terms of both width and pitch. On the other hand, the flight attendant on the flight from HK to Seattle tended to my mom, a Caucasian lady who sat next to me and me frozen inflight meals without warming them up. The rice was cold, frozen and super salty. We asked the flight attendant to warm up the meal boxes for the 3 of us because it was impossible to eat the frozen rice. She replied saying that she could do nothing and we had to eat what she gave us. We were so pissed. I therefore never fly with Air Canada again since 12 years ago.
