I wrote my college thesis on this song and how music as beautiful as this can help mentally. Even for me this song and others help me a lot. The only paper I ever got an A on.
I have borderline personality disorder and this song speaks so much to me...even if it is about drug addiction...these lyrics can help anyone who struggles.

You never think the songs you love will turn on you. It's crazy how once thought to be one thing only to listen further down the road and remind of of another thing. It's the saddest thing to not be able to listen to your favorite bands or songs due to "little reels of tape playing movies in my head!"
you know i have sat here and listen to this song 4 times now. and have wiped the tears from my face.. it reminds me of my past to the drugs the i don't give a fu*k attitude like i said my" past".. i have been clean now for over 21/2 years! you know hearing this song makes you think in so many ways of how it could of turned out! i just am so glad i hit that point of this is it you need help.... and i did get it...I do love the song, if you can wipe the tears from your face you are growing stronger and that's what a lot of us need now days....

I saw them in Detroit YEARS ago opening for Default. After their set the band was walking around (really small venue) and I got to stand there and drink a beer with him. Met him later at one of his open book tour shows. Super awesome guy. I'm not as big of a fan of their newer stuff, even though it's still good, but ya his music is fantastic. I always took this song for a very different meaning than it was written for.

from the song I have my color changes back to blue tattooed on my arm because of the bullying that I went through and made me upset all the time so I got this in memory of how strong I was to get through my last year at my other school and then I was happy again once I transferred but they still stick with me cause of the bad relationship I have with my step grandmother..... she was always there to make me feel like shit when I was down already....I sure love this song though :)

This song might be about addiction, even though I never abuse substances, it reminds me of dealing with the inner demons of mental illness, constantly dealing with ocd. Everything is never good enough for it.

God this song just tears you up it reminds me of me drugs are not the only way to be self destructive poor self image can be hell self esteem without it life is hell people will use you and abuse you and then you will think that is normal to behave a certain way until you find someone that sees the mess up mess that you are and hell he still loves you...but that feeling of love is brand new and you find easy ways to continue on this destructive path but now is worst because you took someone who actually loves you you took him down that you see his pain and god it sucks more and more and everyday you feel guilty but hell im trying to be the best for him because for sure he deserves the best combine the self destructive to bipolar disorder is a hell of a ride voices creep you but for him i will remain in stable ground he gave me a quiet mind and yes sometimes im like this song but now i have someone to be good for my husband and my kids i have something real

I am in a place in my life right now where I feel like no one is listening. I have been a addict for 19 years and I am only 31 its the only life I know and Im tired. Im so tired. I am seriously thinking about ending it all Ive told my wife and my brother and my parents Im scared when Im alone cuz thats when shit seems like its too much. But they just pat me on the back and tell me it will get better.I dont even know why Im writing this I just feel alone and stuck.
