I don't know how I forgot about your reviews after Blip disappeared, but I recently came across your channel again and have been making up for lost time. Your reviews, along with Cecil's from GoodBadFlicks, are two of my favorite reviews on RUclips to date.
I love how you point out the movies downfalls but also give credit where it is due! this is my second video of yours about hp month and I'm really enjoying it! Likely about to binge watch this channel
Great review! I'm glad to see H. P. Lovecraft Month back and hope to soon be in a position to start supporting you on Patreon! We need more smart voices on film and it's obvious that you really have a great love of and an intelligent approach to these films!
Glad to see you back, and doing more Lovecraft stuff! I did notice the new location, and was wondering (up until your end message) if you'd moved again. Hope everything's alright on your end.
Lol, thanks a lot for doing this! I got in about a third of the film, having no clue what's going on and I am still kind of missing the point but this video made things clearer. As you said, I only came for Combs and also Lovecraft but...this was agonising, I just couldn't finish it. So yeah, now I know what's going on & had some laughs so win win!
Remember hiring this out on a VHS tape that was ancient then. And oddly staring Jon Finch who was great in Hammer House of Horror TV series excellent Witching Time episode. Really enjoy your reviews.
Wow, never heard the word "hiring" used to describe, what I am assuming is in place of, the act of "renting", but now that I think about it, it makes sense. You "hire" a person, say to perform a job, for a set amount of time in exchange for money. So, why couldn't you "hire" a movie from a movie rental store for a set amount of time in exchange for money? Although, it wouldn't work the other way around in this case, lmao. Saying that you are "renting" somebody would be a bit suspect to most people, either in regards to you enjoying the company of hookers or that you like to temporarily have slaves do your bidding, lol. But still, it is a pretty strange term to hear, where I am from, which is the USA. Where might you hail from?
You should do the Curse and Die Monster Die next as they’re both films based on The Colour Out of Space. But both apparently just take “the meteor that mutates everything” and that’s it.
There's also "Die Farbe", a much more faithful adaptation. (It can be found either under that original title, or "The Colour Out of Space". The director was working on a Dreamlands film which looked extremely promising, but I've no idea whether that has been abandoned due to lack of funding or not. If so, that's a damn' shame, as he is one of the few who might well pull such a thing off, being very respectful of the original source material....
I'm surprised you didn't say more about Vincent Schiavelli. I've considered him an awesome character actor and genre actor every since he played John O'Connell.
For someone typically observant of interesting details, I didn't hear you remark on the inclusion of prolific character actor Vincent Schiavelli in the cast, who played Knaggs. I rented this movie back in the day and, true to 90% of Full Moon's catalog, it was a dumpster fire, but it was nice to see Schiavelli still working. I also recall the videotape case falsely attributing the story to Bram Stoker, which was why I rented it in the first place, but that could be the fog of time creating a small Mandela Effect for me.
Yeaaaaaah...wiping your hand along a stick of dynamite that's supposed to be sweating nitroglycerin would almost certainly result in a rapid onset of excruciating migraine headache. Exposure to pure nitroglycerin like that causes blood vessels to dilate and massive headaches
Hey Deusdaecon. I don't know if you plan doing another HP Lovecraft month, but I have some film suggestions... 1: Beyond Re-Animator 2: Into Madness: The stories of HP Lovecraft 3: Necronomicon, bodeadok of the dead.
Love your reviews man. I often find myself replaying them on the left side of my monitor as I write. By the way, if you could recommend, let's say, 5 horror films of any period, what would they be?
its only unstable when the nitro glycerin starts leaking from the clay, if its regular tnt you can throw it on a fire and it won't go off it needs a fuse.
Thanks. So far I listened to the audiobook version of Shadow over Innsmouth, Lurking Fear, Dunwich Horror, Nameless City, Dreams in the Witch House and Call of Cthulhu. I enjoyed them thoroughly so far. It was interesting to re-watch this movie review having read the source material.
It apparently because full moon like to film on digital and then grain it up to make it look like film, "apparently", regardless its definitely not a boot leg.

"What is this? A Steven King movie?" I literally have a seven page essay on unnecessary tropes that occur almost exclusively in Steven King novels. Pissed off my English teacher to no end.
It's *Stephen* King, not Steven. Unless you're referring to a different author. If you're going to trash an author, at least spell his name correctly. And you wrote a whole seven pages? That's cute. Stephen King would call that the foreword. One more thing. There's no such thing as a Stephen King movie, unless you're referring to that godawful "so bad, it's good" Maximum Overdrive, as all other movies were adaptations of his works. In the hands of a subpar director, any adaptation can make its source material look like a steaming pile of dog crap. But as we've seen with directors who actually know what they're doing, Stanley Kubrick (The Shining), Brian De Palma (Carrie), David Cronenberg (The Dead Zone), Rob Reiner (Stand By Me, Misery), Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Mist), John Carpenter (Christine), and Andy Muschietti (It), adaptations of King's works can range from good to phenomenal. I know everything I said came across as snobbish, and some of it was, but Stephen King deserves a ton of respect. He has practically set the stage for horror as we know it, over the past four decades. Sincerely, Your English teacher Not really, but wouldn't that have been a clever twist? No? Well forgive me, *Lola* . I'm no Stephen King.
How about this instead, Stephen King has a tendency to fall back on well worn tropes, and some of his books are extremely silly and overblown. Also some of his writing tends to drag and it can get very dense, and his characters can be extremely unlikable. I personally loved the book Misery, found the Dark Half interesting. But Cujo made me want to set all the characters on fire, and It was dull, and took way too long to get going.
LostStarzOfTheSky Stephen King would agree with you about cujo, he was an alcoholic and using a ton of cocaine when he wrote that and a few others. Give the shining a shot. If youve seen the movie you’ve got an idea but the book is very different. Or pet semetery.

Dude. There was just a threat of an ICMB heading towards my state. It turned out to be a "false alarm" but Im so stressed from it. Watching your videos help man.
The look could just be a poorly transferred DVD edition of Full Moon's standard house look, where they would film on video, then process it in such a way to make the footage look vaguely film like.
I think I know why the priest may have been dubbed. The actor playing him is Jon Finch from, iirc, the title role in Roman Polanski's Macbeth and the hero of Hitchcock's Frenzy

You always have the best reviews out of everyone on the site and you are in my top 3 favorite RUclipsrs of all time thanks for the great videos.
I'm not much of a Lovecraft fan but ... love the reviews, Andy. Looking forward to more as always.
Just found this channel, and I think I watched all your reviews over the course of two weeks. So glad to see you're still making new content.

Vincent Schiavelli was referred to as "The Great One Scene actor with sad eyes" he does 1 scene in most of his films according to Roger Ebert
Welcome back greatly enjoyed the video
9:55 duh, it's a plot hole hole.
Great review and welcome back.
Fuck yeah, buddy! Been waiting, anyway welcome back.
Love Lovecraft! I’m so excited to see more videos like this!
Fun Fact: Andrew and his reviews are second to none!!!!! All hail the king of reviews!!!!! 🙌🏾

Congrats on the move!
I'm surprised you didn't say more about Vincent Schiavelli. I've considered him an awesome character actor and genre actor every since he played John O'Connell.
Vincent Schiavelli died in 2005 boxing day I think check his wikipedia page he was in 1995 Clive Barker Lord of Illusions film
I didn't read lovecraft as a kid, I think it was over my head, but I'm going to now, I love these!!
I think this is the first and only time I have ever seen Jeffery Combs (sp?) with a beard.
Yet another great review. I preferred the other background though.
Thank God has back and reviewing a H.P Lovecraft movies.
I saw the void in the opening credits... does that mean we're gonna get a video about that movie? :D
yes I will be reviewing the void
Deusdaecon Reviews awesome, I can't wait :D
Deusdaecon Reviews I love that movie:3 I love that the mute character lives at the end
Marcus Zyker imagine not being able to tell anyone about the horrors you've witnessed
NaumWolf exactly. Luckily he could still write about them.
I really love hp lovecraft base movie review
Yes, this was perfect timing.
The Caulkin joke had me laughing pretty good. Thanks :D

More Lovecraft baby!
Happy new year by the way
11:25 oooooooooh snap - shots fired!!!
Ah a Deusdaecon review and a Lovecraft one to boot. This should be good.
2:21 I'm pretty sure I remember Sylvester doing something like this in a Looney Tunes cartoon. XD
So I haven't read Lurker in The Lobby but I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say it's "The Resurrected" that's up next?
Vincent Schiavelli died in 2005 boxing day I think check his wikipedia page he was in 1995 Clive Barker Lord of Illusions film
Yay lovecraft month 😃
I love to watch your videos :)
For lovecraft, how about the movie "the mist"?
Greetings from switzerland :)

I liked your review and I like this movie. It reminds me of Night of the Living Dead.
haha, you said wibbly wobbly. And I said timey wimey :) I think someone is a secret fan
no secret with me I'm a hardcore whovian.
Bless you sah
@@deusdeaconReviews just when I think i can't like you anymore. You suprise me by being another whovian.

I thought Hemoglobin was call Hemogoblin like those monsters look like fucking legless goblins
Aww damn the doctor was the best too.
The Resurrected. Thats the most accurate Lovecraft film.
call of cthulhu is the most accurate.
Again a great review. I would be interested if you already watched "The Whisperer in Darkness"? It´s a really amazing adaptation of the book.
Hole in floor is a physical manifestation of hole in plot.
Yur the best !!!
It's a Full Moon Studios production, what did you expect? They sell their movies at Kmart for a dollar.
I love your reviews but everytime you say H It reminds me of that sketch in Michael and Webb lol
8:02 Ashley's giving me Lena Heady Dredd vibes.
I can see that
Have you seen THE BEAST WITHIN? It's a really loose take on The Case of Charles Dexter Ward.
Glen Talbot TBW.a take on CDW? I have seen both many times and I dont see the connection. .?
Hey Deusdaecon.
I don't know if you plan doing another HP Lovecraft month, but I have some film suggestions...
1: Beyond Re-Animator
2: Into Madness: The stories of HP Lovecraft
3: Necronomicon, bodeadok of the dead.
Can you do one that compares "Color out of Space", "Tommy knockers" and "The Curse" as they're all based on the same story.
tommy knockers is based on the Stephen king story of the same name
Love your reviews man. I often find myself replaying them on the left side of my monitor as I write. By the way, if you could recommend, let's say, 5 horror films of any period, what would they be?
I'm surprised that he probably didn't know that TNT is actually highly unstable and that if you handle it wrong it goes off.
its only unstable when the nitro glycerin starts leaking from the clay, if its regular tnt you can throw it on a fire and it won't go off it needs a fuse.
This can't be a stephan King story since we lack the psychic unless the bad actor dying in the opening was psychic
Yay!!
What is the song in the begging of the video when you show clips from the movies, it so good and chilling.
Its from the amnesia a machine for pigs soundtrack called kyrie
To be fair it is kind of hard fighting monsters with a shirt on
did anyone see a human hand moving the coat hanger?
Question. I'm pretty much a HP Lovecraft illiterate but love cosmic horror. What would be a good starting or jumping point novel?
The shadow over innsmouth always a quintessential classic. or The Call of Cthulhu
xen0bia bloodborne
Colour outer space.
That intro music is nice. Can you please tell me the song?
It's called Kyrie from the soundtrack for the game Amnesia: A machine for Pigs
@@deusdeaconReviews wow that was fast! Thanks!
Also, no "let off some steam, Bennett" joke? For shame! XD
Ive never seen commando
Deusdaecon Reviews I lied
Is the Doctor here the Doctor from Re-Animator
if your asking is it the same charachter ? then no its not, but it is the same actor yes, jeffery combs
What's that song at the beginning
ya know ever notice in your videos you have a white glow around your eyes? just kinda makes ya feel like watching and listening, idk why.
What are all the scenes in the opening credits from?
from the four films I'm reviewing for HP Lovecraft month
Dude I know a movie you can review called stay alive
Seems like you got a bootleg dvd or something. Either that or whoever transferred the digital file of the film onto disk fucked up big time.
It apparently because full moon like to film on digital and then grain it up to make it look like film, "apparently", regardless its definitely not a boot leg.
2:29 that’s not how you unlock a car
Thank God you're back. You've pretty much ruined other reviewers for me.
No shame in Martense falling for the womans trick,he was just out of jail.
This isn't a comment on your video at all, but this looked soooo boring. Welcome back also ;]

Last time I check his house was burning down around him so I’m glad I’m nowhere near it.

What are you saying Media Ras? This that the town, a filming technique?
In medias res is a story that starts in the middle, fight club for example is in medias res.
