Thank you for your comment. Yeah, it's interesting how collections based on visual criteria like this (especially collections of classics) lead to a specific kind of classic cross-section that has variety but of a canonizable-material type... I think the more I collect in life the more I'll know just exactly how we earth people like to dress up our canonizable bits in uniform...
@@leafyconcern I have a bunch (been a gentle obsession for a couple years). I think there are about 80 total...I probably have 50 or so. Yes, I have that blue melville, enjoyed reading his letters to hawthorne. I love how they look and feel...even tho older and often in clearance racks, the paper quality and binding are better than the more recent versions put out by penguin.
I guess that is what it’s for! Being a pocket edition and all. I am really pro-pocket edition. What other books have been frequently found in your pockets? Do any other works compete with Rilke’s “Notebooks” for your pocket real estate?
Maybe I should do a video where I talk about what I've acquired since this video. I could link to this video in the description so people could catch up...
A wonderfully varied collection

Beautiful collection. These are new to me. But they remind of my collection of 50s-70s viking portable library mass markets.
Whoa! Which ones do you have? I have one of those, I think - the blue Melville one. Have you seen that one?

Glad you think so! I've acquired one more of these since posting this video, by the way.
oh neat which book
This seems to be missing the Stendhal book with a Gorey cover that I acquired somewhat recently...
