Hello Janie! I feel as though I've known you for ages and now have the added pleasure to watch the video of a virtual friend 😊. Never a dull moment for you! What a shame that under all this beautiful craftsmanship everything was rotten beyond salvation. But you spotted it and, as usual, came with a plan. Marvellous. Take care. Isabelle
Hi Isabelle, I'm so happy you are enjoying the videos. This house is going to be stunning when everything is done (whenever that may be). I am so happy to cound you as a new friend. Janie
I'd be highly tempted to restore the original design on the second story due to the health of the building and the visual design... I know you're doing it all including the later additions but it would create a stunning juliette balcony for weddings etc. 🙄
I would love to put it back the way it was but right now it is strictly a money issue. There is so much wrong with this house that has to be fixed that must come first.☹ Someday, if we are wildly successful with fundraising it might be a possibility.
So much of the time, I thought - does it really have to go? Is it really that far gone? But to see...none of it need any tools at all and just disintegrate in the workers' hands. Ugh. It never ends. Everything Must Go is the motto of this house. But how amazing it's all going to look in the end. Seeing the original brick is really cool. Obviously, it'll be recreated, but in the meantime, the brick works as a nice aesthetic all by itself and a great study of interest. Interesting that the brickwork between the window spaces are slightly cantilevered over the floor. COPY & PASTE FROM OLD/ORIGINAL VIDEO
We could, and I would like to, but it would be very expensive and there are too many other things that must be done to save the house. Maybe years down the road.
I did. I'm sorry to be so late in responding. There has been a lot going on with the house and I wanted to have a quiet moment to watch the youtube video you sent me the link for.
Even watching this the second time around, knowing how it turns out, I am on the edge of my seat
I know how you feel. This and the stained glass. We can all be nervouse again when they go back in.
You know what they say - it always gets bad before it gets better. Thanks for sharing with us. 😊😊
There's a good reason someone came up with that saying. I think the better part is just around the corner, or at least by 2024.

The condition of the alcove just proves the point that original design was probably the better way to go!
Or any other design, for that matter.
I was wondering if you have found any early interior pictures with furnishings? I anjoy watching your videos so much!
Not yet! I have been on the hunt for two years. Starting in the 1970s there are some, but I really would love to see it in the League era.
@@leaguekempnerhouse I found some photos in the Rosenberg archives but all are exterior.
Beautiful brick work underneath!
Thank you very much! It was in really bad shape though.
I like the look of the exposed brick
I do to but someday it will go back the way it was. It may be a long time though as other projects are more pressing.
Exciting!!
This little area is such a mess.
Thank you for update ❤
You are so welcome. We think this house deserves to be shared and enjoyed by everyone.

@@leaguekempnerhouse so true! I didn't think about that, a fundraiser is a great idea. I know you're struggling everyday with the money.
I wondered why you didn’t put it back so glad you answered why I also vote original

Lol... word of the day...vexed
An oldie but goodie.
Did the cornices above the windows come out easily ?
Thank you
Very awkward, but not difficult. They are amazing up close, although very damaged.
Lots of windows
So much window repair in our future.
That sun porch needs to go.
Agreed, is it possible to take this back to the original design without the 2nd floor?
We could, and I would like to, but it would be very expensive and there are too many other things that must be done to save the house. Maybe years down the road.
I agree. Hopefully someday but for now it has to stay. It would cost big buck and it is on the nice to do list not the must do list.
Parts of the house is turning into dirt.
Nature was trying to reclaim this house for sure!
Hey, did you ever get my email?
I did. I'm sorry to be so late in responding. There has been a lot going on with the house and I wanted to have a quiet moment to watch the youtube video you sent me the link for.
@@leaguekempnerhouse No worries!!
Quote for today: “that used to be wood” 🙁
Sadly, it's not the worst I've ever seen. I demolished a window frame at the Lucas Apartments with a shop vac once. This was only slightly better.
