Maryland went from well managed to mismanaged but the dummies that vote and don't pay attention to the news will tell you that every is awesome.

If they just would have never shut down all those coal fired power plants

Expanding AI and quantum computing data centers will eat whatever energy that might be increased. They are "hungry" !!!

Eminent domain should only be used for the good of the citizens not a single company benefiting a data center

Those transmission lines are to provide power to New Jersey. Not Maryland.

New Nuclear Power Plant in Maryland. And let Virginia build one also for the IT Tech Centers in Virginia..

Blue states you get what you pay for. Maryland is like CT--dense population & no natural power supply. Therefore, it must be distributed from other sources & yes that involves the ugly power lines. You can't escape them. However, you probably can work with the quantity. The same applies to turbines & solar farms. Do you want this stuff to occupy acre upon acre of the land because it would get the same effect. So the more you go electric, as in charging stations, you are going to have to plant stuff into the ground. This accompanies all the data centers. So now the folks will be stuck with an ugly landscape & the demand for electricity will simply not be met.

They are going back to figure out how to get the most kickbacks.

Yes . I'm afraid that the deficit will be paid by the poor people they are trying to rob. Nuclear power is the way to go. No new transmission lines.

Power still has to get places via wires.

You are if you don't allow them, but if you do allow them, what happens when you are forced to use pugs in cars. People are going to pay higher bills for energy regardless.

Not everything is a crisis. Maryland does not have an energy "crisis"; we have needs.

Now you’ll see nuclear power plants pop up. I remember they shut a lot of those down due to the impact on the environment and inefficiency. All the sudden they’ll be deemed safe and efficient, so we’ll see an increase in generating plants in MD but our energy bills will stay high as if we’d still be using “imported” power from out state. Nothing will get better either way. Right now most energy in MD is transmitted in from out of state, which is a contributing factor for high energy costs, if the power was generated locally it should cost the consumers less.
