    It is so refreshing to listen to a story and not hear whole sections repeat multiple times. I am not sure if the narrator was an AI or Human which is a compliment. Also you didn't use the repeated characters names (Sarah Chen, Raj Patel, etc). So refreshing.

      Thanks, Paul! 🚀 We’ll admit, in the beginning, we made some of those rookie mistakes-repetition, familiar names-but we’ve worked hard to grow and improve, and it’s awesome to see that our subscribers are noticing! As for the narrator, let’s just say we’ve got the best voice in the galaxy working for us 😉. Glad you enjoyed it, best bro! 👊

      Agreed, but there were a few sections that were needlessly over descriptive. This is AI. Even though it got pronunciation and spacing good, it was almost monotone and there were areas where the speech was to fast with not quite enough spacing between words.

    Awesome, having to sort through all the AI trash to find something good is tedious. However some times you find a hidden gem and it makes going through all that trash worthwhile. This has to be written and voiced by humans, the voice acting is some of the best I’ve heard on RUclips well done. Good job 👍 👏

    The story has no concept of the distances and travel times involved in this kind of space combat.
    You could add "6 months later" just after every paragraph.
    This is probably the reason why the aliens need to "Mobilize the fleet" so many times.

  • @musicandmoviefan9217

    I hate to be the bad guy here but I have issues with the story as its is currently written. This Draven fleet of 1500 ships is part of an empire that supposedly has been the ruin of many civilizations, yet they make decisions like 6 years olds playing red light green light. They show no tactical or strategic know how. It just is typical of this type of story making out humans to be so superior to whatever alien enemy of the moment is facing them. I doubt very seriously any one as ignorant and inept would be put in charge of a fleet of this magnitude. He ignores the constant warnings of the tactical officer. It is an unfortunate trend in these type of stories and forgive me but I see it as lazy writing.

    • @SpaceHumansHFYSciFi

      Haha, we totally hear you, MusicAndMovieFan! 🚀 But the captain was meant to be a bit too confident-think of it as ‘hubris on a galactic scale!’ 😏 Sometimes, even the biggest empires fall victim to their own arrogance. It is not a bad HFY story but I have a very difficult time listening to the utter disregard for the distances involved, the fact that the title does not match the story, that asteroid fields aren't like depicted in Star Wars.....I mean, just make the battlefield smaller and it might work. It doesn't have to include Earth out to Saturn's orbit.
    Are Earth's mass drivers propelling things at several times the speed of light?

  • @ewaldbracko7117
    @ewaldbracko7117 12 дней назад

    "Mobilize the fleet"... The fleet IS mobilized, that doesn't make any sense...
    Also too often the same repetitive behavior...

  • @dropshot1967

    Even at light speed weapons fire from mars and Saturn's rings would take over a minute to reach their targets if the aliens fleet was inside the earth's moon orbit. Kinetic weapons would take weeks. Still, sadly this is one of the better SciFi short stories.

    • @ralphm6901
      @ralphm6901 11 дней назад

      What if the kinetic weapons were multiple warheads mounted on a missile that could skip in and out of hyperspace? Pick a target, kick the missile into hyperspace, pop out near the target, verify it's the correct target, smack it with a bunch of fast-moving slugs. The missile could possibly even skip back into hyperspace to go home and re-arm.

    • @tioraytm
      @tioraytm 11 дней назад

      @ralphm6901 Then that's a AI/manually operated drone capable of hyperspace travel and delivering simultaneously multiple AI smart missiles. I am not sure you would want to launch the drone kinetically because it's already capable of FTL and the stresses on the drones components at firing G's would be enormous. Likewise firing the smart missiles kinetically via a rail or mass driver system would put massive G force stress on the missiles and that's why they normally talk in terms of slugs with kinetics but yeah ok let's do it your way, sounds like fun 👍
