    made out of the barrel, loved that! was just looking for vids showing a shorter windscreen for this exact reason and found your vid. really enjoyed that!

      I'm glad u liked it , I have other videos on my channel that you might like if you would like to have a look .. the short screen still isn't as good as I hoped but it was fun making and trying it.😀

    You have a really good combo of bikes. Between the T7 and trail.

    • @robfur
      @robfur  Год назад

      The T7 is a great bike , and I can go to places I wouldn't go on the trail 125 but I do ride the 125 more , its easier to jump on and go to the local spots around where I live.

    I recently purchased the rally seat which makes you sit 2cm higher, got rid of most of the buffeting👍

      That's interesting to know , so that dropped the height of your windshield just a little bit and it made a difference. It's a matter of finding that perfect spot for the height of the rider I think. I have a set of windshield risers I could put back on to play around with raising it just a little bit. Thanks for the comment.

    The short screen looks great and sounds slightly less noisy on your video. I was so hopeful your hand crafted screen would do the trick. The buffeting on my T7 really detracts from my ride enjoyment very sensitive to wind noise in the helmet, love naked bikes with little flyscreens and the gold standard of adjustable screens on my ST1300, my mate calls it the cone of silence and I agree. I bought one of those brackets that let you adjust the original screen up in various positions it was slightly better is some positions and worse in others. I don't think the screen is not wide enough and the vortex behind it sucks wind around the screen and up through the tunnel the fork legs are in. Bugger.

    • @robfur
      @robfur  8 месяцев назад +1

      I agree with all that, I actually bought some good earplugs today on ebay to try and cut out the wind noise , I think I could put up with the head moving around if it was quieter , fingers crossed 🤞

      @@elliotfong4282 That's awesome. I love hearing when we tackle tall bikes. But I'm tippy toes on my much shorter CB500X. And I can't afford drops as I got bad bones 💀

  • @hstefan

    I'm 192cm tall and anything above 90km/h with the stock windshield is absolutely horrible. If I lift my butt off the seat around 5cm or lower my head around 10 it's absolutely perfect. I've tried a taller Puig screen one time from a friend but the buffeting was still there. I might just try this hack with a shorter one, I've ridden naked bikes all my life and the T7 is the first bike I've bought with any real wind protection, I was kinda expecting something else to be honest, the bike is awesome but I'm chasing my tail over this buffeting fiasco.
    I switched bikes with my girlfriend who's 170cm tall and she says it's perfect for her and has no buffeting what so ever...

    • @robfur

      I'm in the same situation as you , but a lot of people don't have that buffeting problem. I want to be like them . Otherwise its a fantastic bike .

      @@robfur does make a lot of diference the sorter one that you fix??
      Have you ever try to ride with no shield at all??
      Im from Greece and im riding most of the time at spring and summer, very hot weather here those seasons, and cause im living only 10 kilometeres from the sea, sometimes when im going for swiming i dont wear a helmet, and you know ,i like the wind heating on my face like a naked bike and not have any bufeting at all..
      Im very ,so very curious about how bufeting will be with t7 ,and if there any solution about it,that im afraid that if i cant handle it ,ill looking for other bike, like Kawasaki w800!!

      6 foot 1 ... I'm going to buy a road helmet to see if that is better. Like I said in the video , most people don't have a problem but some do . I have ridden naked bikes and I might just be used to the wind hitting me all over instead of my head ... thanks for watching 👍
