Sup DWC. wow there were a few things here I never heard before. The first Christmas tree was introduced as a Christian chopped down a pagan tree of baby sacrifice. Never heard that one.

It is the winter solstice. As well as the birth of Sol Invictus. Christmas has zero to do with Yeshua. No date was given for his birth, celebrating such things is a secular tradition. He was Jewish, followed Torah (written law, not the Pharisee’s oral Talmud traditions) and did not participate in pagan festivals.
Amen!! Christmas is not in the Bible. Nor are any of these pagan “holidays”.
God’s “HOLY DAYS” are clearly written in the Torah, namely Exodus and Leviticus. His Feasts and Holy Days are what I observe. I also observe Shabbat every week…because IT IS in the Bible. In fact, it’s the first thing spoken of in Leviticus 23. I’d rather observe and celebrate Hanukkah, because Yeshua did as well ♥️

Why is it Pagan?
I think the origins of Christmas can be explored even further.. the earlier church, apostolic age and even after didn't consider specifically remembering Jesus' birth. But as time went on, the notions of 'intergral age' would have be very significant in the prevalence of 25th December.
Serious question: is there any mention of Jewish or Gentile Christians observing Christmas in the New Testament?
The video says that it was Hippolytus of Rome in the 200's that gave us the date of Dec 25th for the birth of Christ. Seeing as how John most likely wrote Revelation (the last book written in the New Testament) somewhere from the 60's to the 90's depending on your dating method, there wouldn't be any mention of it. At least not on that date.
There are accounts in the NT of believers celebrating existing Jewish festivals (Passover, Pentecost, etc.), but no examples of new holidays or festivals/feasts i.e. Christmas.
It just doesn't appear that celebrating or at least discussing the celebration of the birth of our Savior was a priority in the NT era or to the NT writers. The circumstances of His birth were important. His death and resurrection were important. But the celebration of His birth, especially on a specific day, just didn't seem to be worthy of mention if it happened at all.

The liturgical calendar (or church year) was developed as a way to actually preach the Word to you and help you with your piety. It begins with advent (which started last Sunday) which means "coming" and we remember and focus on the coming as a child and coming again. Which then leads to Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, Pentecost, etc, all leading up the last week which is Christ triumphant. All of this is, of course, a tradition and particular feast days are not in the Bible, which means there is no command that we HAVE to celebrate these days, but why not? We have freedom and we are exalting Christ.

For me, personally, I prefer having set times to focus on a particular aspect. Praise God for Jesus all the time and for his sacrifice without ceasing, of course! But to have a particular time of year to focus on his birth, how he came into the world, and all the prophecy and implications thereof, and another time of year to focus specifically on the death and resurrection and all the prophecy, and implications thereof... I like it.
Personally I prefer more wholistic teaching, so focusing on the birth narrative through the lens of the cross, and the resurrection through the lens of the OT are my favorites. But having a set season to examine all the myriad of aspects of a particularly significant event, I like that too!
Not sure, whether you still read these, but didnt the Christians of the first three centuries celebrate Christs birth in January (even stating that Easter is more important to celebrate) and then started celebrating on the 25th of December for two reasons: 1) to show the world, that it's not about the sun-god but about the son, god (since sol-invictus had some similarities to the Christian beliefs and was celebrated on the 25th). And 2) to rebuke the heretics who said that jesus wasn't god incarnate they started to emphasize the birth of Jesus more since the fourth century and emphasized it more.

Jesus and the disciples did not celebrate Christmas. A man in his own understanding add on the word of god(bible) and invented Christmas.

Does anyone know the scripture that says Jesus was born on December 25th? I can't seem to find it anywhere in the Bible.
Well we don't know when he was born... It might not have even been winter it might have been in the summer... But I don't think that really matters, isn't the celebration of Jesus more important than when he was born... Assuming you are a Christian...
@@joshuaestrada6042 Hmm, that's weird I was taught in church that He was born on December 25th. I wonder why everyone says that when they don't really know. If Jesus was not born on December 25th then that's certainly is concerning that people would lie about something like that. And it also makes me question as to why we go to church on the first day of the week when the Bible clearly says the Sabbath is definitely on the 7th day of the week.

The Bible teaches that we are not under the law, and Paul says the law is a schoolmaster that brings us to Christ. Long hair is a proper head covering for women according to Corinthians, and Jesus teaches that food is clean because, "It is not what goes into the mouth that defines a person but what comes out."
@@aleclyons7766 I don't see what the apostles meeting on Sunday has to do with the fourth Commandment or us not being under the law. Paul said the law was a Schoolmaster not God's Commandments. It sounded like you were implying that once you find Christ you don't have to follow God's Commandments??? I'm pretty sure that's not what Paul meant. I believe that Paul was saying once you are in Christ you will follow God's Commandments because you love him instead of following them out of fear of death. Jesus said if you love me you will keep my Commandments. And I don't see what Jesus teaching that food is clean has to do with the Sabbath. I'm pretty sure food has always been clean.
