Thanks for the video. It serves as a guide to others on how one person does a task. Thanks again.

Hey, you should get a refrigeration fin comb for coils and straighten out those fins. unless of course they are too fragile. Looked ok from video bit you know how that goes. I cant imagine the cooler is working that well and I would guess air flow is being blocked ????? on half the radiator maybe??? just a thought

l struggled on my own getting that heavy radiator shroud off so l have split it front to back on the top and fitted plates with captive 1/2 bolts to put it back together, l also notched out where the radiator bolts through the shroud onto the chassis so l can remove the shroud one half at a time leaving the radiator exposed for removal.

You can see through this rad... regardless if it needs a head gasket, this rad is for the better!

Please tell me it wasn't the head gasket like you thought. Were blowing a lot of water out of that radiator? As to your point not a good sign. How did you make out. Cool video

+STEVE ROB yeah afraid so. Just for shits and giggles I may buy harbor freight $29.95 USD diesel compression tester to check compression. so many jobs, so many videos to make, so little time.

+The Disgruntled Mechanic I missed that one. Awesome! I think you REALLY need that tool!

If you leave the injectors out, you can rotate the motor using one hand on the fam , rotate the fan and the engine will rotate. There will be no compression with the injectors out. Makes it really easy to adjust the exhaust and intake rocker arms

Mike, it looks like the head gasket may not be on right or water seal "O" rings are blown, I don't know about the case engine, but gasket could be blocking water passages and opening exhaust passages causing high pressure to blow water past the new radiator cap.

+M24A6 Yes when I bought it the guy said he had replaced the head gasket. Not sure how good of a job he did or if it was done correctly. I will find out when I tear it apart I guess.

Mike in the mornings! I hope you can get it figured out. A head gasket isn't too bad of a job. I liked the beginning too. New tools show up and I ask for forgiveness.

+wyattoneable Thanks Wyatt. I don't get too much grief about tools because many of the tools are used to fixed the Lady's vehicles!

+wyattoneable Oh and on that old stuff head gaskets are much easier! so much more forgiving.

How long does it take to replace a water pump on one of these puppies?

    • @TheDisgruntledMechanic
      @TheDisgruntledMechanic  4 года назад

I would say it was ~3 hours. You have to remove radiator to get to it.

@@TheDisgruntledMechanic A friend is helping my brother level some (A BUNCH) of rock on the end of his runway...his CASE keeps breaking down. Now, it's a water pump.
'nother question, if it can be answered. Who makes the most reliable tractors (not new ones, but slightly older 10+ old).

@@cluelessbeekeeping1322 Depending on what size you want I have only good things to say about Kubota. I have a 13 year old BX24 that has been pretty much trouble free.

@@TheDisgruntledMechanic My brother has a "Ford 1110" (I think) and a larger Massey Ferguson something. Someone told him the larger Massey Ferguson isn't a 'real tractor,' as in, it's not truly 'industrial.' It's more of one which an unsuspecting small farmer would buy. It seems to be true, it's not very powerful for its size.
Do you like Case or Kubota more?
(I very much appreciate all your help here!)
The "Ford" is really a rebadged Japanese tractor, I forgot who made it.

@@cluelessbeekeeping1322 I like Kubota. So many companies like New Holland is made by Ford. So many of these companies have intertwined so many times I can't keep up with who bought who. But Kubota has remained Kubota and has had good quality.
