I bought this upgraded version about 6 weeks ago not expecting much. I own a Tudor and a Rolex but apart from the difficulty of removing links to shorten the bracelet I am dumbfounded about how good it is. No problems with the GMT hand and it is amazingly accurate for a watch costing so little. I also use it to swim every day and again no problems so well done and if it gets lost or stolen I will not lose any sleep. In fact if it is stolen I will laugh thinking the thieves believe they have a Rolex Exp 2. 😂
Interesting. I didn’t have I problem removing links. So far, I quiet like the screwed in links. But I found taking the bracket off to be quiet hard. The springs in the pins are quiet stiff and make it real hard to take out.
Just got the PD Explorer 2 homage and I'm quite impressed with what I got for just a little over $100. So much so I'd buy another one if needed. But it's pretty much a disposable watch considering servicing this watch would be much more than replacing it with a new one. I'll leave you with a tip I found on another YT channel about the jump you get when setting the 24 hour hand. Set the 24 hr hand where you want it then rotate the crown in the opposite direction about 1/4 turn. This removes any tension on the gear train that moves the 24 hr hand. Then when you push the crown in the 24 hr hand will not jump ahead slightly. Now back to enjoying my PD Explorer 2 GMT homage.
I bought mine off AliExpress a week ago. On sale for $86. It arrived in 5 days (it appears that Pagani Design has a US warehouse) and I have been absolutely blown away by how good it is. I mean, it doesn’t compare to, say my Bulova Lunar Pilot, but it beats the pants off most of my Invicta Pro Divers in terms of finish. Though maybe not the 1953 Batman version, which is also the newest of my Pro Divers by a few years, so many Invicta has upped their quality a bit as well. I’m not wild about the color orange, (totally rational) sports rivalries being what they are, but I really like the pop of bright orange, including the strap, test drove it on that nato strap for a day, but I like the metal bracelet.
Yes they are. You'll love it. Be aware some buyers are receiving last year's model. I suggest buying from Ali Express or Amazon. You'll love this watch. It's about the best homage out there.
@@watchyouknow My wife ordered it from Amazon. We checked it out to make sure it was the new model. I just have to wait until Father's Day now. Torture!
The movement is hit or mis! I’ve had two watches with the same movement and one ran like a swiss movement. Close to zero time loss and gmt was on point. The other however, was like you described. Gmt hand wobbly, and not accurate. Bad QC! Tempted for this explorer 2 still.. at 50mm total length it is a biggie..
Best looking exp2 homage I've seen. Note the Gmt hand jumped when setting the Gmt time. The orange strap makes the watch pop. I'm currently selling all the Chinese stuff I've bought that I never wear.
I only wish they had applied some lubricant in the mainspring barrel. The scratchy noise and feeling when winding it is just TERRIBLE. Otherwise the watch is very nice, I have mine for two weeks now.
Great review. I think I may have a slightly older version of this watch but it is fantastic, I think it’s one of paganis best autos! I did a video on how to set without gmt or hour hand moving when pushing crown back in, check it out: ruclips.net/video/2V-Aaic74SY/видео.html Great video and review, this is one of my fav watches of pagani for sure!
Buying Made in China watches? Thanks, but no thanks. I bought one last year for $175. In one month after receiving it, the watch ran faster and faster (3+ minutes per day). I contacted both Aliexpress and the seller many, many times, and there was absolutely no response! Garbage dealer, garbage Ali, and garbage M.I.C. products! No matter what warranty they offer you, they do NOT honor it. That's a waste of our hard-earned money and is not worth it! I don't buy cheap mechanical watches, only cheap quartz watches. Good mechanical movements are inherently expensive, good quartz movements are inherently cheap, like my favorite one, the VH31 quartz which ticks 4 times per second and retails for less than $10, or the VK63 mechaquartz chronograph. Either of these movements will outlast any cheap mechanical by decades.

Andrew, we agree that it is very well done. Thanks for your input!

thanks Walter for the tip.
You can stop the GMT hand from jumping if you back off the crown 1/4 turn to release tension on the gear - then it sets right on the nose.
thanks Edwin
You do - of course understand that the GMT hand operates on a 24 HOUR basis read using the outer bezel??

Nicn- you're right I. that this watch CAN blow you away. $86 great price too.
Nick...oops
The GMT hand is perfectly in sync on my watch. Tested over two weeks now. Guess the hand is loose on your one.
right... likely got past QC.
@@watchyouknow They have no QC.
This is the watch I requested for Father’s Day. Can’t wait. The new model upgrades you point out seen great.

Yes, but it wears great on my 6 1/2 inch wrist.
Solid review Jeff. I always appreciate reviews of homages, as we know not all of them are created equal.
Thanks Eric. I'm researching the Gemini today.
I know nada about the Chinese mechanical watch market, so WOW, talk about value. Great review!
Thank you. This is really a great watch for the money!
Very nice review, keep it up!
Thanks Collin!

Hey friend there is a fix for that, which I show in this video of mine!
ruclips.net/video/2V-Aaic74SY/видео.html
I can never sell my watches. However, that creates a problem because I have so many.
The GMT hand does NOT skip when you are cautious enough to NOT turn the crown when pushing it back in after setting it.
mine still skips☹️
And the bracelet is really well done, the nato strap is just too cheap to even consider using it.
NATO not the greatest I agree.
How can you possibly recommend a watch that doesn’t work as it was designed to do?
It actually turns out the GMT hand does now work properly.Thinking of doing an update.
My gmt hand is F ed.... all my utter paganis are great..... Chris ward is my bang for $$$
Send it back if under warranty.
amazing video
Wow...thanks!

good point
that's hand moves at half speed, it's a 24 hr hand. think militar time
yep

No way would I delete this. I appreciate your input. I have been burned by Chinese watches before but never by Pagani...at least not yet😊
@@watchyouknow Good luck. But once is too much for this 70 y.o. veteran on fixed income -- especially at this high inflation/interest rate era!😪
I get it. Thank you for your service.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Veteran or not, your threats to unsubscribe and tell everyone you know are mean-spirited and inappropriate. Good job, Jeff, responding to them.
