Interesting indeed. I reckon the original engine shit itself and they just put whatever they had in the shed in this case a Volvo engine. My father had an M A N that was repowered with a Scania DS8 a very responsive engine for a 4 stroke/.
The widecab version of the TM, like this, never left the factory with an L10. Originally, it probably had a Detroit V8, although the mk2 was slso offered with 14 litre Cummins. The narrow cab had the Detroit V6 as standard with a Bedford 500 and in mk2 the L10 as options.
